Kingdom Hearts II: Cerberus Cup

I'm playing like a noob lately, need some advice. >_<

The Cerberus Cup is the one that has Sora fighting solo, but able to use the drive command. And there's a time limit.

I've beaten this before, on other playthroughs, so I dunno why I'm having trouble this time (slowing down in my old age, perhaps?). I have no problems fighting any of the monsters, but for the life of me, I can't make it to the final round with enough time left to cut down all of Cerberus' HP. How much time should I have on the clock at the final round to be safe? Any suggestions? Sora is level 30 (give or take a level or two), so I don't think telling me to just go level up will solve the problem. He's already a few levels above the recommended level for the cup. I've been using Valor form (all I have are that and Wisdom, right now).

  2. You need to wait and use Master Form when you get it. You'll be able to stay in the air longer when fighting.

That's kind of what I was thinking, but I sort of wanted to get the cup over with now.

When do you get Master Form? I can't remember. >_<

You get it at Radiant Garden, right before the boss fight against Demyx.

  5. If you want to get the match over quickly go into Wisdom Form and use Thunder magic and alternate with firing.

Thanks for the suggestions. I think I'll just wait until I get Master Form before I try again- I don't think I have that much longer to wait.

Or you can use wisdom forms fire magic if you don't feel like waiting, In wisdom form you stay mobile using fire, so you can hit most enemies pretty fast. I'm not clear on what level you generally are at in the game when you get certain spells either, but reflect never hurts on large clumps of enemies.

I have reflect (although now that I think about it, I don't think I've actually ever used it >_<).

I might try that if I don't feel like moving the story along the next time I play, then. I don't usually use Wisdom form, but it might come in handy here.

Valor form is nice, but Wisdom form's magic can hit a wider array of foes faster. With a full combo of fire from wisdom form odds are anything not immune to it will be either crippled or dead.

Also cou could use the Limit-Form...if you have it yet (If ya mean FM+)

    or else:

Just take the enemies of with gic and punches - and Limits from the both Idiots who assist you (Yeah I mean Donaduro and Gouwi)

I've beaten the Cup at LV 1 - but in FM+ and with Final-Form XD was hart too...so I hoped I could help ^^'

I do not have Final Mix.

And Donald and Goofy are not available to assist me, so there is no limit usage- only drives.

    But thank you anyway.

Nah, it's not the leveling up that's the problem- none of the enemies are hard for me to defeat. I think I really just need to wait until master form, so I can stay in the air longer- I think that will make it easier to defeat Cerberus with the time I have left.

In my experience, lots of magic makes it easy to take out enemies faster. I think you forgot to mention what you picked in the beginning. I picked staff first, then sword, so my magic really kicks. Alternating reflect with fire helps out when you have large clumps of enemies surrounding you.

I always pick sword in the beginning.

I waited until I got Master Form and beat the cup, with the Jiminy objective, a few days ago with no problems. But thanks for the help! I'll leave this thread open so that others who need help with the cup can ask here.
