Kingdom Hearts III

Chapter 1: The Awakening

X falls through the water. He can breathe, even though he is under water. He lands on the ground below him and gravity returns to normal. It’s dark, but strangely he can still see himself. He takes a cautious step and the ground under him is transformed into a thousand doves. He steps back shielding his face, but the birds all fly upward, past him. When he removes his hands he sees that the ground is a picture depicting four people, all in cloaks, each wielding a type of Keyblade. Suddenly a voice speaks.

“You are the fifth. Of five doers of greatness. Wielders of the blade. The Keyblade. You are the fifth. Walk forward. Do you have the strength?”

X walks forward and around him appears three platforms.

One with a shield. “Your path is in shadows,” One with a sword. “only you wield the power to shine bright enough to clear it.” One with a staff. “Choose your path, and confront your fear”

X walks over to the first platform. He picks up the sword.

“The power of the warrior. The path of power, and great destruction. Do you choose this power for your own?”

X nods. The platforms disappear.

A door appears. “Only one before you has opened the door. Now it is your turn.”

X walks to the door.

“Go on, confront your destiny.”

X opens the door and light envelopes him. He opens his eyes on another picture, this time of a heart shaped moon above thirteen cloaked figures.

“Hold on, the door won’t open just yet. First you must prove yourself.

The Kingdom Key appears in X’s hand.

“The Keyblade. A marvelous weapon.”

A Shadow Heartless appears behind X. X attacks the Heartless and destroys it. Five more take its place. After those are destroyed, there is a flash of light. When it clears, X is standing on a picture of two previously unseen crossed Keyblades.

His shadow stretches and grows. “Don’t be afraid.” X tries to run but is stuck at the end of the picture. “And don’t forget.” He turns around and sees a large, two legged, grey beast with an eye where its head would be. “You hold the mightiest weapon of all.”

Boss Fight: Grey Omega

X charges between the Grey Omega’s legs. He slices at its tail until it doubles over. Then he runs back to its stomach and blasts through it with a bolt of energy. (RC: Charge)(RC: Unleash) The Grey Omega falls over and X stabs its eyeball. It gets back up and jumps off the screen. A shadow X appears and X defeats it. The Grey Omega tries to squash X by landing on top of him but X slices its feet. (RC: Side-Slash) It roars and falls. X runs to its head an stabs its eyeball again.

End Boss

The Grey Omega writhes and falls on top of X, waking him up with a start. X looks around the room and sighs.


Four people sit in a room. Three of them are recognizable. Aqua, Terra and Roxas. However, the fourth is wearing a cloak with the hood on. The room they are in is in ruins. The door opens and Ven walks in along with Xion.

“Who’s this?” asked Terra.

Ven shrugged. “Dunno. I found her next to the store.”

The cloaked person sighs and crosses the room. He puts his hand on Xion’s forehead. Xion looks into the hood and blushes. The cloaked figure removes his hand and says to the group: “Pureheart.”

Roxas’s eyes widened. “Wha-“

Aqua grinned. “Well, looks like she’s part of the team.”

Xion glanced over, a confused look on her face. “Team?”

Terra sighs. “The team is us. We are all either Nobodies or Purehearts.”

Xion looks even more puzzled. “Nobodies? Purehearts?”

Ven nods. “A Nobody is like a body with no soul or heart.”

“Hey, I resent that!” Terra says half-heartedly. “And so does Roxas, but he’s too stubborn to admit it.”

“Wha-HEY!” retorted Roxas.

Xion giggled.

Aqua smirked. “Guys, you made her laugh. Now she has to join.” She turned to Xion. “You are going to join right?”

“Wait.” says Xion. “Let’s introduce ourselves first. My name is Xion.”

“I’m Terra, these are my teammates, Aqua and Ven.”

“My name is Roxas.”

Xion nods. “Nice to meet you.” She turns to the cloaked figure and asks: “What's your name?”

“My name is…” The screen fades out.


X sits at his desk writing in his journal. He finishes a picture of the Grey Omega. “What was that thing?” He asks to no one in particular.

“X, breakfast is ready!” His mom calls from downstairs.

“Coming mom!” He leaves the room.

A Shadow Heartless appears on the floor. It steals X’s journal and disappears.

 

Chapter 2: Twilight Town


X walked out his door. He was a tall, black haired, blue eyed 16 year old. He looked around. Twilight Town was busy in action. He decided to get together his best friends, Ael and Demy. He tried their houses but there was no one was home. He stopped by the Sandlot to say hi to his dad, who was the Struggle announcer. When he headed toward the Usual Spot, he was met with a surprise.

“Happy birthday X!” Gathered in the Usual Spot were his friends Demy, Ael, Hayner, Pence and Olette. They had decorated the place and made a big sign that read: “Happy 16th!”

“Open my present first!”

“No mine!”

X grinned. He opened Ael and Demy’s present first. It was a Struggle kit.

“Thanks guys!”

Hayner’s present was a skateboard. Pence’s was a Munny Pouch with 1000 Munny already in it.

Olette out brought something from behind her back. It was a camera. X took a picture of the group together. As they went to the Struggle arena, a Shadow heartless took the picture.


Aqua, Terra, Ven, Roxas, Xion and the cloaked figure are deep in conversation.

“Hey, you're going to love it here.” Aqua says. “Everyone thinks so. Even Cloak and Dagger over there.”

The cloaked figure scoffs. “I have a name you know.”

Xion laughs.

Suddenly there is a scream from outside.

Xion gasps “Naminé!”


Naminé runs from a Neo-shadow. She trips and falls. The Heartless pounces, and is incinerated in midair by a Keyblade. The Keyblade whirls like a boomerang, and returns to its owner, the cloaked figure.


Riku sighed. It didn’t get much better than this. It had been a month since he and his friends had sealed Kingdom Hearts for a second time. No Heartless, Nobodies or Organization XIII getting in the way. Just peace and quiet.

“Fabooooom” Riku jumped at the loud thunder-clap. He looked up and saw a storm moving toward the other island. He frowned and squinted toward the shore.

“Is it just me, or did I just see a Heartless.” His eyes widened. “Sora and Kairi! They went to the other island to check out the secret spot. I've got to get over there!”

He rushed toward his boat. The last thing that ran through his mind before he pushed off into the surf was: “Oh no, not again!”


X blinked in confusion. “Okay, why did everyone just freeze?”

Ael scratched his head “Dunno.”

Demy tapped the still Hayner with his struggle bat. “Don’t ask me.”

X had just beaten Ael in a Struggle battle when everyone but Ael, Demy and himself had frozen in place. A second later, they all disappeared. Then the ground.

“This sucks!” screamed Ael as he fell.

X looked down. They were falling toward an ocean between two islands. When he glanced over his shoulder, he expected to see the bottomless Struggle arena but all he saw was the sky. When he looked back down, he hit the water. He swam to the surface, coughing and gasping for air. He reached the shore. He looked behind himself and saw Ael and Demy surfacing behind him. He turned back to the island and saw storm clouds rolling in. On the shore of the island, farther away, six people were in deep conversation.

X squinted. He made out a tall silver haired youth with a white shirt and baggy jeans. Another kid was about his age with brown hair and multi colored shirt and shorts. The third was a girl with an all pink shirt and skirt. The other three were a bit stranger. One was a duck with a blue hat and coat; another was a dog in a green jacket and yellow pants. The last was a mouse with a red jacket. X blinked. Suddenly Ael and Demy ran past him.

“What the…?”

“Talk later, run now!”

X looked over his shoulder to see a swarm of Shadow Heartless coming right at him.


“Aaaaaaaa!” Sora whirled around to see three teens running toward them, chased by a swam of Heartless. He drew his Kingdom Key and waited for the heartless to get a bit closer. Two of the three teens ran past him and the third promptly grabbed his Keyblade and ran straight at the Heartless.

“Hey!”

The leading Neo-shadow suddenly turned and ran, the rest of the Heartless following suit. The teen that stole his Keyblade chased the Heartless back to the water.


X watched as the Heartless jumped into the ocean and disappeared. He turned around and trudged back to everyone else. He grinned sheepishly as he handed the brown-haired teen his Keyblade.

He introduced himself. “Hi, I’m X and these are my friends Ael and Demy.”

The silver-haired teen stepped forward. “My name is Riku and this is Kairi, Sora, Donald, Goofy and King Mickey. Welcome to Destiny Islands.
