Hey guys, as some of you may know from RP'ing, I enjoy writing. I don't just RP, I write stories. I have quite a few, but really none on here I can say I'm proud of. This story here is one I'm quite proud of that is definately going on another site that's meant for stories, but I thought it be appropriate to put it up here as well seeing as it's a Kingdom Hearts story.

This story incorporates elements from Kingdom Hearts as well as what a typical teenager is faced with in every day life today.

    ~*~

    Hikari...
Is a typical teenage girl living in a small little town located on a beautiful world. Just like typical teenagers she faces problems with her friends, bullies in school, drama, parent problems, and other problems teenagers are faced with.
The difference between Hikari and most teenagers, she's the daughter of legendary Keyblade Master Sora and Princess of Heart Kairi.
Hikari on top of normal problems is faced with expectations of others to be like her parents. To either be brave, strong, and willing to help with anything whenever needed or to be elegant, beautiful, and kind like her mother. Though some of the characteristics she has, she doesn't have them all and when she can't do one thing right of those expectations people make comments she doesn't appreciate.
She loves her parents but she can't deal with the expectations... little to her knowledge though she would live up to their expectations and maybe even higher when she's thrown into doing a task she'd never in her life imagined she'd have to take part in.
    Introduction-

A nobody, a being of nothing. Never meant to exist. Born from a darkness devoured heart. All nobodies try for something so far from their grasp yet so close to their grasp.

Long ago these… creatures… planned, they had it all figured out. They knew exactly how they were going to get their hearts back, they knew how to do it, they had a back-up plan if their first didn’t work. The only thing these creatures didn’t plan on was their back-up plan back firing.

Their back-up plan? It started with their first plan’s somebody, they’re being with a heart. A boy armed with a sword shaped like a key, gifted to him by the thing they were achieving for that would give them what they wanted, their hearts. This back-up plan that back fired, a boy named Sora.

Slowly those creatures, the nobodies, organized in a group with no such greater name than Organization XIII, were defeated off by this boy, this Sora boy. Defeated one member at a time. All the way up to the cause of it all, to the man… no… nobody, the leader of the once great Organization XIII, a nobody by the name Xemnas.

Xemnas fought the boy, Sora, he fought hard too, but it was nothing against the great chosen key shaped sword known as a keyblade.

Xemnas was defeated, all the nobodies of Organization XIII were defeated, and the boy continued on as a great hero if his first quest to many wasn’t proven that he was a hero.

Even then this boy continued on several more journeys showing the worlds that he was a hero, a hero worthy of a constellation, a hero worthy of the princess he had, worthy of the best friend he had, worthy of the family he’d have, worthy of the weapon he had, worthy of the title of Keyblade Master.

The Organization became a distant memory, becoming exactly what they were meant to be… nothing.

What is nothing though? Can nothing truly be defined? Nothing has been proven something with its definition not only what has happened in the past. Can nothing return? Can nothing have revenge.

It’s been twenty years since that faithful day, ten years since the Organization became nothing like it should have been. The boy is now older, a man.

A married man with a daughter the age he was that faithful night, a daughter who the people of Destiny Island try to make just like him, a daughter who is nothing like him, a daughter who will never be like him, a daughter who doesn’t want to be like him, a daughter who wishes to be herself no matter how great she could be one day or how little she could be one day.

My name is Hikari, I am that daughter.

    Chapter 1-

“Hikari!” Today is my fifteenth birthday. The day all about me, though if only I could get out of going to school at Destiny Island Academy, DIA. The dreaded place I despised to attend, if only another school was available on the island.

I looked down at the journal sitting on my desk. I had it opened up to a new page getting ready to write a new entry but sighed realizing I wouldn’t get the chance to do so. I took the journal and pulled out my desk drawer and hiding it in the back of the drawer.

“Hikari, are you up?!” I heard my mother call up to me again. I sighed and stood up straightening up the blue plaid skirt I had on a part of my school uniform: blue plaid skirt, white short-sleeve blouse, blue plaid tie, navy blue knee-high socks, and brown shoes. I put in the blue plaid head band in my hair to help hold the red-brown wavy hair a possessed out of my face. It is hair I have to thanks from both my mother’s straight red hair and my father’s spiky brown hair.

I grabbed my navy blue messenger bag stocked with school books and notebooks for notes and to draw or write in. I stopped and looked around my room assuring I wasn’t forgetting anything.

My twin size bed against the window looking down over the ocean and out to the island was made. My desk to the far left of my room was neat and organized, my lap top sitting on top. To the left the dresser holding various jewelry, hair stuff, make up on top and various clothes and such in the drawers was to the right. My room is much more long left to right when you stand at the door. The bed is about six feet in front of me, then with the bed width of three feet took you to the wall.

I nodded to myself knowing that nothing was being left behind as I closed my bedroom door and hurrying downstairs.

I walked down the stairs the was in the living room of our house. I looked around. The front door sort of in front of the stairs, couch, sitting chairs, and a TV was set up in our living room. I walked to the back of the house through the door way. It led to our dining room with a opened space looking into the kitchen.

“There’s the Birthday girl!” I heard my dad exclaim. I smiled as he walked up to me and hugged me. “Happy Birthday, Sweetheart.” My dad said the nickname he had for me since I was a baby. Though a common nick name, it had a meaning to me. My dad and mom always thought I had a sweet little heart growing up. Trying to help everyone out if it was asked of or not.

I turned around being greeted by my mother setting my favorite down on the table: pancakes, bacon, and coconut syrup. I hugged her as she said her happy birthday to me and we all sat down to eat breakfast.

Though no day starts out good for I know that usually I have to do something I really do not want to do, today really started off good and quickly turned bad with the entrance of my godfather. A man most of the island despise him even when being a hero and yes he’s respected and he is feared.

I set my plate in the sink where my mom, tall and slender with straight red hair stood washing the dishes when a knock on the door was heard and my godfather, though I call uncle or just by his first name, calling in.

“Sora, Kairi?” He called into the house. My dad looked up from the paper he was reading.

“Riku, were in the dining room.” My dad called to him. I looked towards the doorway to see the tall, muscular, silver hair, green eyed man that stood in the doorway. He smiled over towards my direction.

“Good morning, Hikari, Happy Birthday.” He told me. “Sora we have to talk.” Riku said getting real serious. I perked an eye brow when my father stood up and headed towards the back door. I looked and noticed the glass bottle in Riku’s pocket.

I turned to my mother who looked concerned but then saw me looking and sent a warm smile one cannot not smile back, I managed though not to smile back.

If I only could try to eaves drop on my father’s conversation, I would, but with school and the school bus stop down the street some ways, there was no possible way in which I could. I could only give my mom a hug to leave to go to school.

“Hikari!” I turned around and smiled at my one best friend, Yuuki. She’s the daughter of my mother’s best friend growing up and one of my dad’s friends, Selphie.

“Hey, Yuuki.” I greeted her and looked around slightly surprised to see no Ryuu. Ryuu I’ve known for a long time growing up. I actually helped him. It was when I was seven, it was the day I convinced my father to let me go to the other island on my own. Of course my father still told me I had to be rowed out by him.

My time spent on the island was fun hanging out with Yuuki until storm clouds were seen out in the distance. The waves were kicking up and Yuuki and I were stuck on the island. We quickly took shelter in the one building on the smaller island until I heard crying. I quickly ran outside and saw a young boy though he was probably the same age as me or older out in the ocean hanging on to just a tree trunk. Stupid me, so Yuuki claims, ran out to go save the boy. I actually jumped into the water and swam out to the boy. I got to him no problem, just now I was stuck holding on to the tree trunk.

I will admit I was scared to my wits, but I still kept telling the boy we’d be alright, thankfully we would when the next thing I know in the midst of the storm two strong arms lifted the boy and me into a row boat. I was happy to see my father came out to get Yuuki and me.

By the end though I got in trouble for risking my life, though my parents were proud to an extent. Turns out the boy, Ryuu, didn’t remember his past, all he knew was his name. Yuuki’s family ended up taking in Ryuu.

“No Ryuu?” I asked her. Yuuki shook her head.

“He left this morning, something about wanting to go see something. With Ryuu you know, my parents just let him go.” Yuuki sighed. Ryuu was a strange boy. If he was curious about something, he’d do anything to get to the bottom of it.

“Hey you two.” I turned around to see Ryuu come running up, his dark brown spikey hair all over the place, not caring where it was. Yuuki shook her head tucking her short strawberry blonde hair back.

“Where did you go this morning, and you’re an absolute mess, you can’t go to school like that!” Yuuki exclaimed.

“Relax, Yuuki. I went to the island. No biggie. And I’m not that much a mess. All I got to do is tighten my tie and tuck in my shirt.” Ryuu stated throwing his arms behind his head.

Ryuu is a tall boy and extremely well built, he almost has a complete six pack. Underneath his wrinkled school shirt was a skin tight black tank top in which he would throw his short sleeve navy blue button shirt over. When not wearing his typical school attire it usually was the skin tight shirt, the short sleeve n tan button shirt, and slightly baggy jeans. Yuuki usually stuck to her pink sun dress, and I wore grey skinny jeans and my favorite black short sleeve t-shirt.

“See, Yuuki, I’m much better.” Ryuu grinned wide his deep blue eyes sparkling. Yuuki looked over him her green eyes inspect but she just crossed her arms.

“And you wonder why mom and dad scowl you about taking school seriously.” She stated. Here we go.

“So they scowl me, big deal, it’s not like they’re exactly my parents.” Ryuu expressed with anger.

“They are too your parents, had it not been for them you’d be sitting in some orphanage!” Yuuki exclaimed.

“Well then I wouldn’t have to deal with you as a sister!” Ryuu yelled back. I sighed and came to a stop at our bus stop the two still arguing.

“Well, I never wanted you to be my brother, so there!” Yuuki shouted.

“Will the two of you knock it off!” I butted in glaring at my two best friends. “The two of you bicker like siblings, hence forth you’re siblings.” Of course quickly Ryuu became quiet. I knew deep down he was thankful for Yuuki’s parents taking him in, but because he was taken in by them, Yuuki who always wish she was still the only child didn’t get all the attention, it was now distributed between the two of them.

“Why couldn’t you just take him, hmmm?” Yuuki stated angry. “Oh I know, because then you wouldn’t be the only famous child of Sora and Kairi!” Yuuki stated. Ryuu looked up at me then at Yuuki angry.

“That’s enough! You know full well, I’d love a sibling. We’re all suppose to be best friends, but no you’d rather complain about everything like Sakura!” I told her angry. Now I did it.

“Fine, I’ll hang out with Sakura, she’s a lot cooler than you two, her bus stops just down the street.” Yuuki said angry.

Welcome to the life and times of Hikari.

    Chapter 2-

I glared as I watched Yuuki run off. Sure enough the over dramatic teenager would be apologizing to both Ryuu and I after school just like every time she pulls this, but at this moment I didn’t care.

I felt a hand on my shoulder and turned around to see Ryuu.

“It’s ok, just ignore her, she’s been like this for a long time, I don’t know what’s up with her. Anyways since we’re alone I can give you what I wanted to give you.” Ryuu stated. He pulled out a small little wrapped package. “Happy Birthday, Kari” using my nickname. I smiled at him and took the small little gift and smiled at him. I opened it up and inside was a chocker necklace weaved from strong yarn with a small little purple star shape charm hanging on it.

“Thanks so much, Ryuu!” I exclaimed hugging him. He chuckled and hugged me back.

“You’re welcome.” He told me when the bus pulled up. We both got on the bus and saw Yuuki sitting at the back of the bus with Sakura and her group of annoying friends. Ryuu and I sat down in the front of the bus, me by the window, Ryuu next to me. I lifted up the necklace and felt Ryuu take it from my struggling hands as he tied it.

We got to school and we walked in to school many students hung out in their usual groups. Though we all looked the same due to the uniform, everybody is different. Destiny Island many don’t believe is a very big island. You get people who hang out at the forest, kids who hang out in town, kids who hang out at the cliff, kids who hang out at the beach, and then kids like myself, Ryuu, and Yuuki when she’s not with Sakura who hang out at the island off shore.

Ryuu and I walked over to our locker and opened it up to grab our books. I turned and looked at Ryuu before he looked up and I turned and saw Yuuki go into her locker next to mine not looking at me. I closed my locker and started walking off Ryuu following.

We stepped out of school and I looked over at Ryuu before sure enough Yuuki ran up to us.

“Hikari, Ryuu, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean what I did this morning.” I turned and looked at her and sighed but shook my head.

“Yuuki, you do this all the time.” I told her.

“I know, I’m sorry.” Yuuki apologized.

“Yuuki, today though was her birthday!” Ryuu said slightly angry.

    “I’m sorry…” Yuuki said again.

“I forgive you, but I really wish you wouldn’t do that. I mean I don’t know why the two of you fight. So you have a ‘brother’. I’d love to have a sibling.” I told them as I started heading down towards the dock containing row boats to go over to the island.

The three of us went over to the islands. We hung out up in the tree house and on the paopu tree the three of us sat gazing out to see. I leaned against Ryuu when I felt him tense up. I saw him look over at his sister who looked at him then smiled as if knowing something I didn’t know. I watched as he jumped off the tree and faced me.

“Kari? Do you think we can go talk?” He asked me. I looked at him confused.

“Yeah.” I said jumping off the tree.

I followed him as he headed over to the secret place on the islands. Nobody knew about it except for the adults because they use to play here. It’s become so over run with plants the adults didn’t tell us about this place. It was Ryuu who discovered it one day when we were kids when he saw a cat run into the plants. He went to investigate and found it. The only person he told was me. He didn’t even tell Yuuki. I followed him into the cave. It was dark in the cave but there was just enough of the evening glow shining in.

“Kari, we’ve known each other for about eight almost nine years. We’ve become the closest friends could possibly be. We’ve been through the bullying, the laughter, Yuuki’s episodes, high expectations, and more. We’ve done it all together, shoulder to shoulder, heads held high. I want to add something to that though.” He said to me. I looked at him as he took my hand and held it in his.

“Hand in hand.” He said to me. I looked at our two hands, they seemed to fit perfectly. I sat there in shock as he was asking me out. I looked up at his eyes and I saw him turn in embarrassment, this must be the first time he’s truly seemed embarrassed. His face was really red before I couldn’t help but giggle. I saw him look at me upset.

“You didn’t need to go all fancy asking me out.” I told him. “Your face doesn’t look right when it’s all red.” I told him. I saw him smile at me.

“So will you go out with me?” He asked me. I looked at him and hugged him.

“Yes.” I whispered in his ear.
