    • Xehanort actively works to keep the three protagonists separated. No poorly written melodrama, if it’s not Vanitas keeping Ven from Aqua then, it’s Xehanort keeping Terra from them.
The only times the leads meet is briefly in Radiant Garden or when Eraqus dies. Even then all three never meet at once until the final battle.

    • Aqua only meets Kairi and Terra only meets Riku. (briefly sees Sora)

    • The game has one story set in chapters instead of three separate campaigns.

    • Disney Town and all of that mess (like Pete) are cut. The Mirage Arena has all the same minigames anyway, we dont need both worlds.

    • Terra doesn’t fall as easily as Xehanort wants. He’s tricked the first few world visits but quickly wises up to people manipulating him. Due to this, Xehanort takes drastic action and sets up Eraqus’ death.

    • Vanitas and Ventus have a unique design of their own and there’s no Sora connection. Ven & Van both fall into slumber after their heart/xblade i shattered.

    Fragmentary Passage Alteration
    • The only change here is that Aqua isn’t shoehorned into KH1′s ending. She meets Mickey, we learn he’s there trying to find a Dark Realm Keyblade, then they get separated.

Even then I would be wary about having them all meet up. The time they were all in Radiant Garden they should have either stuck together for the remainder of the story or at the very least swap notes.

I'm surprised they didn't have Ven meet Sora. I mean, given the other two met their respective counterparts.

That's an interesting idea. Would it be one character per chapter and they all swap at set points? Cuz honestly I personally felt that the entire story should have been set to one file, only you can freely swap characters whenever (Like DDD, except without the drop gauge). So you run through a few worlds for Terra, then swap to Ven and essentially start at the beginning, and then swap to Aqua and do the beginning again or swap to Terra and pick up where you left off.

Personally I would argue to make Disney Town more story relevant and less of a minigame world, but that's just me.

This all the way. Seriously, Terra should have realized how he seems to meet bad people each time he arrives in a new world. I think Castle of Dreams is like the one world where he meets a good guy first. Also I feel that Eraqus' death should have been handled differently. Like, Terra arrives as Eraqus is about to kill Ven, Terra interrupts that, and then Ven slips past Terra to Eraqus and they both explain what's going on. While this is happening, Xehanort stabs Eraqus in the back and then Terra focuses his rage on Xehanort (That way he still gets to tap into his dark powers).

This part would require giving Ven a different design from Roxas. Which honestly I feel should have happened anyways cuz I don't think KH3 will really handle Ven and Roxas meeting properly. I don't think the two will be as confused as they should be.

At the very least, have Mickey leave out Sora and Riku's names. It does go against the Blank Points video or whatever that shows Aqua meeting Ansem and him telling her Sora is saving the worlds again and again.

I do have one other alteration to suggest, though it may then introduce a plot hole with KH2. Include a scene where Mickey actually meets Terra. That, or change his dialog in DDD. Having Mickey meet Terra in BBS does then make you wonder why he wouldn't recognize Terranort in that one flashback in KH2, but on the other hand Mickey referring to Terra as one of his three friends in DDD makes absolutely no sense since Mickey never met Terra.

I think the writers realized that too which is why that put that drama in which...only really made them look dumb. =[ At least to me.
The entirety of BBS falls a part the moment even just two characters sit down to talk if you think about it.

Kinda surprised they didn't as well yet I'm also surprised they had Aqua meet Sora. To be honest they all felt like forced ties in retrospect minus the Terra-Riku meeting.
I may just feel that way due to Kairi's random keyblade in KH2 being explained as an "accident" by this action.

Hmm I'd have chapters in set points personally. I probably wouldn't have them all retread the same worlds either. The only time I can think of that we'd have to swap them out in succession is Radiant Garden and the finale.

I'm fine either way I suppose. Just so long as it's not the minigame board we got.

Now that's an interesting way to handle Eraqus death! It'd add to the idea too since Xehanort would notice Ven and Eraqus calming him down and realize he has to intervene.

Oh I doubt they'll even nod to their appearances. The Ven-Van thing always felt like a twist for the sake of it like the two Ansems. It honestly just made me care for Ventus and Vanitas less because I couldn't see them as their own people truly. I know they are within the context of the story but when I look at Ven all I see is "happy Roxas".
In terms of story, I bet (at most) Sora has some reaction even if subtle.

That's very true. I wouldn't mind that kind of change.

Honestly I don't think the Aqua/Kairi meeting felt forced. Even the Kairi keyblade explanation, it's not so much forced as it felt... Odd I guess? It makes one wonder the point of Terra making it seem like an actual ceremony if keyblade inheritance can happen by accident.

I do feel they should have given each character at least one unique world, but honestly I'm not sure how well the story would work if you're forced to stop playing as 2 of the characters long before the final battle. It doesn't make much sense to stop playing as Terra around Radiant Garden (Arguably about the 1/3 or 1/2 point of the story) and then not see him again until the final battle.

Well, we both beat KH3, so we know how this works out.

While on the subject of BBS changes, there's a question I've had in my head about how canon one could consider the non-video game versions of these games. What I mean specifically is that there are light novels of BBS and in them there are 2 chapters focused on Ven and Vanitas that aren't in the game and of the 2, I consider the Vanitas one more important when considering if it's actually canon or not.

Basically, in this chapter, before Ven made his connection with Sora, Vanitas' face was that of an Unversed and, more importantly, the way Vanitas felt about the Unversed. Vanitas creates Unversed, attacks them out of anger, their pain he caused flows back into him, which causes him to create more Unversed, rinse and repeat. Oh, and Xehanort was super abusive to Vanitas. I'm curious how canon that should be considered to be.

Tbh there isn't much point. That's what makes the ceremony feel so pointless or just there to have some people meet. It takes more away from the keyblade than it adds in other aspects. I fond it forced but most feel the Kairi explanation was mostly lazy which I can also understand.

Depends on the length of a chapter tbh. I wouldn't be bothered by it since I'd still be seeing the story lead these three toward that point.

Yes and to the games credit, they made it unintentionally hilarious. They look at each other and it's like the meme of that comedian yelling "we dont have time to unpack all of that".

Generally anything not contradicted by the games is seen as canon by most I think. Games are the top tier canon with anything else varying. Even the quotes of Nomura fall under this since things stated ages ago dont always stick. (a game is like Nomura's "current word" in a sense")
