News Updates at GDC 2009

Here I will put down important information concerning GDC 2009. I will ctaegorize the news into 4 parts

1) Square-Enix

Square Enix has announced two new Final Fantasy games, Final Fantasy IV: The After Years and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a Darklord for Wiiware They are coming out this year and also the original Final Fantasy will come to the Virtual Console this year too. May for Japan and later during the year, elsewhere. Final Fantasy IV is coming to Virtual Console too, along with I.

Final Fantasy Advent Children will come to Blu-Ray over in North America, June 7th 2009. The list of bonus features includes an exclusive sneak peek of Final Fantasy XIII. Does this mean a demo's coming?

2) Nintendo

Nintendo have announced a new game on the DS. It is called Zelda: Spirit Tracks and it will be run on the Phantom Hourglass system and it's revolved around trains. Zelda:Spirit Tracks comes out later this year. A trailer of it has just been released

Nintendo have announced Virtual Console Arcade, which will be a compilation of classic arcade games such as Space Harrier, Emeraldia, Solvalou and The Return of Ishtar. It will also introduce Galaga 3, Mappy with it's main character being a mouse police officer, Star Force, a scrolling shooter and The Tower of Druaga, which is a maze game.

Nintendo has fixed it's memory problem...FINALLY. Anyway, there is an update avaliable for your Wii, avaliable now where you can use a larger memory SD Card to store all your games, songs from Rock Band 2 eg. You can use a 32 Gig SD Card now on the Wii. To see how this fully works, have a look at this video

3) Sony

Both MMORPG's The Agency (a spy-themed MMO) and DC Universe Online (superhero-themed MMO) are coming to PS3 in 2010.

Ratchet and Clank:Crack in Time is being released in Fall, this year. The gameplay will include time manipulation. A trailer has been released exclusively for gametrailers



4) Microsoft

5) Other

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 has been announced. There are no details about gameplay yet.
