Poetry assignment assistance!

    I can't decide on a subject. It's free form, so I'm not worried about prose. I do however, need a subject. I'd due today, so if any of you see this thread and can give me something even if it's random, I would truly appreciate it!

    A poetry assignment. Ok here's one!


    Looking Into the Unknown

    How can we try to imagine a world full of prosperity and love when there are things that are holding our talents back? How can we dream such a dream when we can't even make our minds open up to achieve it? We are creatures who loves to dream big but can't even glorify and magnify our own strengths to even let ourselves be known just because of what others thinks. The future can hold infinite things but we ourself can shape that future from infinite into one by the events that we caused. It can be bright with full of care and blessings or it can be hideous and dark with nothing but evil to come. Even we, the creatures that dominate all the other creatures , tend to look backwards, which can be more mysterious as our forward. The past and future can holds many things but there's only one path that can connect and mesh, correct or distract the prophecy that we made for ourselves. As we look into the unknown, not knowing what holds for us, we try to go through great measures to succeed in that dream that may fail and go straight to the king of hell. Still, we try to grab that one lining to bring that dream into reality and make the whole world fall to our feet just because we are so amazing. Just as our dreams and the future can be unknown, we ourselves are unknown to the world...

    well think about what is going on around you. What are you thinking about at this point in time? Look up on google and type in "impressionist art". That gives you a lot of ideas.

    It always helps me to be doing something else when thinking about what to do about that kind of thing. Sitting by a computer or desk and pen is just boring and therefore anything you can think of to write about will usually seem fake(if you get my meaning) even if you are writing about something you really care about. Go for a short walk or something while you think of something to write about and when you eventually do come up with a topic make sure it's something that comes from inside you and something that you really care about or feel strongly about or it means nothing and it will come out as such in your writing.

    Thats basically all I can think to advise you on. Just think of something that comes from you, something that you know a lot about and care for a lot, and then tell us about it through a poem. Write what you feel.

    There's also something that you need to know, which I think would be better than what Nozomi suggested. There are many things that you should know and do:

    1. What are you feeling?
    2. Are there anything in your life that you've experienced?
    3. Is there's something in life that you love or hate?
    4. What do you find pointless?
    5. What are sweet and evil to you?
    6. If possible, listen to some music.
    7. Let your feelings and expression take control over you. Once you let that happen, it will flow smoothly.
    8. Don't just make things up. It just sounds so blah.
    9. You don't have to rhyme. Saw that poem that I gave you? It can be free verse and can be whatever you feel.
    10. CATCH THE AUDIENCE ATTENTION!!! MAKE THEM SEE WHAT YOU SEE!! QUESTIONING THEM THROUGH POEMS ARE GREAT!!
    11. Be bold in yourself. Don't just try to use your mind and go "The bird is very sweet. Very sweet like honey. I think it is very neat. Will you be my bunny?" -___- Ew. Ew. Ew. What's inside counts.

    I have a lot more but that's what I recommend, especially the music part.
