Who else feels that Rap has just destroyed the music world, i mean i love old school rap and some new school but its just become bad. Main stream is what im talking about, its not even rap really to me. Anybody else think Rappers are becoming a joke in the music world?

Naw. Even when there's still these "hip-hop" mega-artists, the underground hip-hop lives on. It ain't gonna die, you're not looking hard enough. Some old school rap is still living underground and there's bunch of people that make good music.

Artists like Lil Wayne are just making money with rap (and nowadays Eminem is too, even what you say) and not making music because for the love and passion of doing it.

If we're talking about the real shit and old hip-hop, Eminem is nothing compared to artists like i.e. the duo Mobb Deep.

    shiiiiieet boy.

EDIT: And actually if I may point this out, Eminem was just helping hip-hop progress to the point where it is now. His style (majorly because of Dr. Dre) changed so much over the years from the old-school hip hop to the new kind music they make, and featured (and let artist feature) a lot of artists that made the hip-hop stand where it's today. I used to listen his music a lot, and sometimes I still do, but only the older albums because his major style has changed so radically.

I agree, like its mainsteam is all the same, beats and what they talk about, its sad. I've been underground for bout 3 years now and theres always good artist comin up but not seen. Even Tech9 is still a beast when it comes to rap but he doesnt go all out mainsteam even though he can. He just loves rapping. There are good REAL rappers in mainsteam but most of them fall for the money and lose there passion. J.cole, Kendrick Lamar, Mac Miller, there all big but i've been bumpin them for years now back before Mac came out with KIDS. Even Wiz was good before he got big.

I Agree I really think that is destroying out world because of the all the messages it is sending kids and making them think it is ok to cuss or act rude or whatever.

Rap is supposed to tell a story of some kinda, these days its the same song over and over with different words and a beat that sounds like the last song.

That's the beauty of music - you can do whatever you like.

I don't think it's just because of the lyrics that make the hip-hop nowadays so different than it was years ago. It all started as a way to make money for Afro-Americans teens, and many of the lyrics were telling what was fucked up in this world (or better to say in America, because old school hip-hop was born in South Bronx). Of course it was very popular to write lyrics about drugs and crimes, and that hasn't disappeared anywhere. New artists that you can hear from radio have taken many influences from what's pop today in the music business, i.e. dubstep, pop in general, and so on.

If you want to listen to hip-hop like that or something that is not like Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa and so on, stop listening the radio all the time to find new artist or to listen hip-hop. Find older artists and artists that are still making old-fashioned beats, etc. Like for one, if you want to hear a quite popular hip-hop crew that is still making old-school hip-hop, I recommend that you check out Jedi Mind Tricks, for example. They're a crew that do the sickest beats I've heard to date and their rap is quite old school.

Give it a try and try to find artists and crews that do old school hip-hop. And turn off that radio.
