Uhhh....you spelled religion right in your post but not in the topic name >_>

Anyway, I believe that religion is very complicated, and essentialy it is a giant spiders web, each thread is intricate and different, even if only slight to the other, but once it gets down to it, it all connects back to one thing. In other words, I believe that each religion is a variation on another one, and therefore, many relegions have been lost in time, such as that one about Mithrias.

In addition, many people are turning to religion, mabye because of the economic crisis, ad they are turning to it, for answers to their problems and life's problems.

Yea, but then there's christianity. I think it's not a religion, but a relationship with God & to get your life together, especially since you have only one life on earth & after that, either eternal life or eternal pain & damnation.

I agree with summonerbrandon. There is not ritual, but relationship. There is not duty, but delight. How beautiful, beyond all words, is the love of God that is in Christ Jesus the Lord.

    reincarnation?
We are living eternal damnation fool. We'll keep on dying in new lives if we don't repent to god. You can not get to heaven by believeing that "Jesus is your savior".

    EtherealSummoner Lamentations 3:22-26

SIgh. Sorry to say this, but you are the fool. Did I say anything about reincarnation? I'm not talking about buddhist or anything like that. We're not living eternal damnation & we cannot go to heaven if we don't believe that "Jesus is your savior". Waterfall, did it says in the bible that (I don't know how it goes because it's language) but it says about " No one can go to heaven but the only way to reach heaven & God is through him"?

And you interpret that as "believe in Jesus"? YOU GUYS ARE IDIOTS!!!
That just means that in the end, HE IS THE JUDGE! You can't get into Paradise by another Judge, just like you can't get into one house with two different keys. Believeing in Jesus has NOTHING, I repeat NOTHING to do with getting into Paradise.
If you believe in Jesus, thats the same as worshipping him, because thats what Christianity wants you to do by saying that, worship him. But can you worship Jesus after he deliberately calls himself Lucifer? hm? NO!

Fools are fools are fools till the end, and you my dears are fools. Good luck in the next life, because your "sheperd" has done a good job in making you stubborn.

    EtherealSummoner Lamentations 3:22-26

Sigh. You are the fool, but I'm not going to argue. I'm too smart & way too calm to do this. Now why would Jesus calls himself Lucifer? You don't believe that someone had died for your sins so you can have a better chance to have eternal life? Believing in Jesus is something. Read the bible & you will see. Believing in Jesus Christ, the son of God, is not the same as worshipping him. Believing in him means that you is believing in God also & that you will gain salvation. Christianity is a relationship with God & is not a religion. Jesus did not make me stubborn. So you're saying that he made me stubborn for living a christianly life, to do good to people, to love people regardless of what they did, to even love our enemies, to repent for the wrongs that we did, & that we're fools & is stubborn for even trying to lend a helping hand to someone who is lost? Is that what makes us fools?

Star has been giving me a helping hand a lot of times on this site & you is calling her a fool too.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

like I said, good luck in the next life, because your soul is lost in Druj.

You know nothing. I've read the Bible, probably a lot more than you have. If you were smart, you wouldn't be calm. Theres a lot to mad about in this world.

    EtherealSummoner Lamentations 3:22-26

I do know something. I am smart & I'm not worked up about you calling me & others who is living a saved life fools. Druj? What the heck is that? I'm not worried. There is not a lot to be mad about in this world. Why? There's still people who's still fighting for their lives, still loving, still caring for one another. Still looking for God to pick them up when they fall. Do you care about these things, or I'm a fool for bringing these truthful words up too? I've been worked up over useless things & even things you posting these mean posts will not phase me. I'm being very calm because I just have to be a good example to show people what God has done in my life & if they don't like it, I just move on.

Worshipping isn't the same as believing it's different. Science has proof Jesus was real, Earthquakes during his death, storms, fires, so on, happened and was carried to our scientists today. So tehre's proof in that matter, plus other things, which is more of historians.

Now for above christianity as a religion was mentioned, well it's kind of different here's what it is, and trust me this is right I didn't sit in Confirmation for 2 years to have this be wrong, so trust me it's right.

Way back when before Jesus's detah there was one and only one religion which was just a follower of God, and then there was a bunch of myths for example the greek gods and stuff. However upon Jesus's death, and when the little cloth thing or whatever tore in half at his death, christianity was born which is the followers of Jesus's and believers in the holy trinity (God+The Son(Jesus)+holy spirit). Well off of that Roman Catholic was born, however many many many years later Catholic's(pope, so on) started cheating people and Martin Luther saw this creating a seperate religion and beliefs that he studied and has been able to proove true using the bible, these were the protestants. Protestants then had a break off of many religions, all the religions we have today in christianity, Lutherans were first. Lutherans(what I am) are the modern protestants, but protestants is still used to lable all the other religions like Presybyterian and methodist and stuff.

Now your probaly wondering what about the muslim and whatever the chinese are(I forget), well between the two groups, the very base off of that are the break offs like muslim, natzis, so on. (Jewish are not in this category, they're the one who I believe if memory serves right were the followers of God).

That's how the Religion Tree Works

Now what's this about me being called a fool? I don't see fool up there at all, however the fact thta what I said goes against MR I guess I would, but guess what SB, I've lost only one fight in debate, and it wasn't against MR ;)

You should listen to yourself, really daeva.
If you don't know what Druj is, then you have no right to call yourself smart, or even debate me whatsoever. Your pathetic, and I hate it when pathitic people test me. Its my pet peeve.

As for all that "oh, people are fighting", yeah, thats really good and all. That gives me some comfort and hope, that we can undo the cycle we've brought upon our souls. But ignorant and stubborn pigs like you are only making our cycle worse. CHANGE SUMONERBRANDON! LEARN SOMETHING FOR ONCE IN YOUR LIFE!!!

Cheating the people of God are nothing but synagogues of Satan. That's all there is to it. The Jews, which I had heard from sunday school, is the chosen people & have ways to get to heaven. (Some of the others I had learned, I forgot.) Then, when it comes back to the bible, God did created the earth & the heavens. Let me stop right here. I feel that something bad is going to be said on here & I don't like it.

Edit: Yep. I knew that Mythril was going to say something real bad.

That was the catholics who did that. Learned it in the book and you should watch the movie Luther it's reactment of Luther creating the protestant church which was fair all around, but teh catholics had people pay to be forgiven by God and now and then even tell people they were denied forgivness unless they paid more.

Now in my religion the way MArtin Luther has prooven true, all men and women, no matter religion, beliefs, colour of hair skin, eyes, and the different language you speak, all get to go to Heaven, that's why Jesus's died on teh cross to grant eternal life and forgive our sins, meaning all get to go, but it's still better to go and get forgiven at church(for free).

    EtherealSummoner Lamentations 3:22-26

Forgive me for double posting star, but I need to get this off of my chest. Just because I don't know what Druj is doesn't mean that you go & try to put me down by saying that I'm not smart & pathetic. No one do not want to test you. I was never ignorant or stubborn. It's people like you mythril, who tries to put down people like me, who loves God very much, who wants to be saved, who wants eternal life, who wants to get to heaven & have no fear, who're the pigs, & I'm saying all of this with a calm voice. I had changed a whole lot of times. I've been through so much depression after getting baptized. One of them, I didn't tell all of you, but I didn't want to leave this site temporarily because I went through trials & tribulations & I will go through more like them in my life.

I've experienced that death will take away those that you love. My own uncle who I call "Big Brother" got killed on New Year's Eve when I was 6, I've moved to Gary, Indiana. Got beaten up, almost got killed there once, got talked down, been going astray from 9 to the age of 12. I even almost died as a baby because I had brochartis. (Don't know how to spell it.) I move to Mt. Vernon & experienced a whole lot of things. Still getting talked down, been living with my mother & grandmother my whole life, lost my own great aunt at the age of 13.

I didn't see my own dad for almost 5 years & I'm glad I will see him next month. God been there with me through everything & I thank god that he did. Even after I got baptized before my graduation, a few days later, a friend of mine in Mt. Vernon, where I'm living at, had drowned & died. Not only that, last month, I almost got killed. I almost got killed by the one who I been there through thick & thin & she tried to kill me with a knife, wishing that I was dead, saying that I'm in a fantasy world. Even the other person that I was there even backstabbed me & it makes my soul hurt, but now, I've gotten stronger. God kept on renewing my soul everytime when I ask for repentence, asking him to put me back on the true path, & going to the altar, being filled with the holy spirit, I thank god for everything.

I've changed a lot. I know what I'm doing. I've been getting wiser & wiser. I've been winning batttles that was pulling me down & God helps me along the way. Don't you ever say that I'm a fool. For 14 years I've been on this earth & I still having people who loves me. I'm still going strong & no matter what you say, I will still believe in the Lord.

Ummmmmm, what's this got to do with the debate? And you didn't double post.

Either way looking on all past debates, MR won't give in his own little religious debate of whatever it was called and true God and all that stuff.

Trust me there's proof of God's existance all over the globe, he gives it to us to show he's there. Example Flight 93, the flight that touched down here in Pennsylvania, everything, everyone, and all around was destroyed, but one thing. The Holy Bible, that was a sign that those people will be going to a good place.

Sorry star. I'm tired of MR keep on trying to say bad things about me & think I don't know anything, so I'm debating against him & standing up for my own. As for those people on Flight 93, it was a tragedy to otehrs & family, but God's mercy & grace is still moving.

...Whoa, whoa, and whoa. Relax, guys. Heated topic, but it doesn't have to be a debater bash debater 101 session…although I suppose that if that is what you desire to do, Mythril Roxas, I should politely point out (as I must have stated somewhere) that everyone is ignorant about something. That includes you. So, to call anyone a fool in the sense that you’re using the word seems to be a little “oxymoronic.” How exactly do you know that you are the fool—to use your terminology—and not him? Part of having an open mind is being open-minded to being incorrect. At least it should be considered, so a comprehensive assessment can take place.

[Not to say that I am defending summonerbrandon or taking sides—just that you use the term ‘fool’ more knowingly than he does. I look to the Lord and seek His face in these things, prayerfully considering those things that should be said. I am hopeful that you do not look upon me with disdain because of this; however, I understand that this might be disagreeable to you.]

The verse that summonerbrandon is referring to is: "Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me" (John 14:6).

I have already spoken extensively on this topic. Jesus is the only Way. I have elaborated on this point elsewhere and will do it again on this forum if necessary. Jesus is Lord.

I feel that I should talk a slight bit about demonology and Deliverance, just to clarify (moreso) who Jesus is, and the power He has. Demons can only be cast out in the name of Jesus Christ. They will not come out—and do not have to come out—under any other name. No other name has authority like His. Now this isn’t to say that they just “come out” all the time; sometimes they fight. Sometimes they fight adamantly. (It could take weeks before a demon finally comes out; some only come out with prayer and fasting, etc.)

Guess what? This should be obvious because of what I just said, but demons can’t be cast out in the name of krishna. Nor can they in the name of mithras. Nor buddha, nor Muhammad. Don’t you find that just a little odd? I mean, why should the demons call Jesus Christ of Nazareth the Son of the Most High God? I just think it’s a good piece of evidence to support His authority as the King of kings and Lord of lords…especially because I’ve been through Deliverance myself…and was slightly involved in the occult…and heavily influenced by the New Age and doctrines from various religions like Hinduism, Buddhism, Shinto, Atheism, Deism, and Wicca. The Lord Delivered me from satan. The fact that I am alive is a testimony to His grace.

    Anyway…continuing with the debate…

Well, I guess I already answered this by providing the Scripture above. Yes—He said that He is the only Way.

One is only saved if one believes in Him:

“that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” (Romans 10:9-10). Also:

For "whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved" (Romans 10:13; Joel 2:32).

Believing in Jesus has everything to do with heaven:

“Jesus answered, ‘Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God’ ” (John 3:5).

One is only Spirit filled who accepts Jesus Christ as their Savior—him who confesses Him with their lips and believes.

“Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, [fn] nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.

And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God” (I Cor. 6:9-11).

Clearly without Him there is no entrance, because we are unrighteous, and we cannot make ourselves righteous, no matter how great our efforts. Before God our efforts are nothing. They are simply not enough. This would be heartbreaking…except for the fact that God offers Salvation freely in Christ…and so there is hope for us.

I feel prompted to address the issue of what sin is in a different way than I have before on this forum. Sin is what keeps us from God. It leads to spiritual death—separation from God.

In a nutshell (ish) what I just said:

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” (Gen. 1:1, NKJV). He spoke, and there was light, and He created all of the creatures of the earth. Finally, He created man (humankind), the pinnacle of creation, in His own image, and blessed them. In the beginning, humans were in perfect relationship with God, and knew no sin. That they might live and be fruitful and multiply as hoped, God commanded them not to eat of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, “for in the day that [they ate] of it [they would] surely die.” (Gen. 2:17, NKJV). Sadly, man did not obey God, and thus, came to know sin and died; for “the wages of sin is death” (Rom. 6:23, NKJV).

Because of man’s original disobedience (often referred to as the Fall), humans are no longer in perfect relationship with God, “for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God” (Rom. 3:23, NKJV). Sin cannot be before Him because He is holy, and therefore, humans cannot have a relationship with God because sin is in the way. But there is nothing to fear, for God the Father, in His love, mercy, and grace, has provided a Way for the lost: “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16, KJV).

Jesus is the Son of God, the Messiah “who takes away the sin of the world” (John 1:29, NKJV). The perfect sacrifice, He died on the cross and paid the wages of sin-death-with His blood, thus reconciling humans to God and restoring the broken relationship. His blood is the blood of the new covenant, in which humans are saved by grace and justified by faith. To understand the depth of this gift that God has given, one must understand who Jesus is. He is the Word. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God”, and “the Word became flesh and dwelt among us (man)” (John 1:1; 1:14, NKJV). He is fully Man and fully God. Despite His authority, however, “He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross” (Phl. 2:8, NKJV), and He rose from the dead, and ascended to heaven, where He sits at “the right hand of power of God” (Luke 22:69, KJV).

This wonderful gift of Salvation is available to all: “‘I (Jesus) stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me’” (Rev. 3:20, NKJV), and “if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved” (Rom. 10:9, NKJV). At the moment of Salvation, one is made righteous before God, “being justified freely by His grace that is in Christ Jesus” (Rom. 3:24, NKJV) and is given new life; one is born again.

I am stubborn about preaching the Gospel because I love you and all people, and I love because God loves. Every single last one does He love. And just as God will not stop loving, so I cannot stop, but am compelled to reach out. It is delightful, yes…and sometimes discouraging…but God is glorified in me, for He works in and through me.

I will readily admit that I do not have understanding about the lucifer text matter—and that I have forgotten to pray about it—but I know my Lord. He is not a liar, and He is not evil, but good. Simple as that. People can misinterpret text. I think that this is what has happened in this particular case. I will study this eventually, and hopefully be able to speak more about it…and I will pray that God would teach me.

The part about Christianity being a relationship and not a religion is actually false. I definitely prefer to call it a relationship, because it is more than just another religion. It is a relationship with God. But it is also a religion. The term everyone (Believer and Unbeliever) understands it to be: religion. Ugh…it has such a negative connotation….(ritual as opposed to relationship). Dictionary definition: a specific fundamental set of beliefs and practices generally agreed upon by a number of persons or sects: the Christian religion; the Buddhist religion. (Dictionary.com…yeah, I know, I should’ve gone for the actual one, but this was faster and just as accurate…)

Why is there a problem with worshipping Him? He is God:

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. This man came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all through him might believe. He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth” (John 1:1-14).

    And also:

“Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, [and] coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to [the point of] death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and [that] every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ [is] Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:5-11).

[There are many more.] I would say the last question you asked is a good one. What is it that makes us fools in your eyes, Mythril Roxas? (For summonerbrandon and I are both Christians.)

Yes, I suppose that there is a lot to be mad about in this world. But that is no reason to fly off the handle about everything.

More Scripture!! (If you didn’t already know this, I’ll inform you that I love Scripture, and that I am delighted that after approximately 8 months I am genuinely reading it again...and now I get to share it with you!)

“Be angry, and do not sin. Meditate within your heart on your bed, and be still. Selah” (Psalm 4:4).

“So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God” (James 1:19-20).

“Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told [you] in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.Against such there is no law. And those [who are] Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires” (Galatians 5:19-24).

I am calm in Christ. I have peace beyond understanding which comes from God. Yes, there are problems in the world—many. Do they break my heart? Of course they do. Does my heart break for those who suffer? Of course it does. Am I burdened for people, and do I not become angry when they are hurt? Of course. But still, in all of these things, the Lord is my Shepherd (Psalm 23.), and I will hearken unto His voice.

“You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so? Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect” (Matthew 5:43-48).

I really don't need to hear your life story. I know you by the way you act on this site, and so far I am not impressed. In my opinion, you ARE A FOOL, but don't let that make you all depressed summonerbrandon. I just think your a fool in this field, the religious field. Don't get to mad or upset over it, its just an opinion. All I am to you is a boy in a screen...nothing more. So dont let my voice quiet yours. I admire your determination. All I'm trying to tell you is that your messing with the wrong guy.

How many times do I need to explain to you that:
    a. I already know everything you said. I was raised Lutheran, I know the Bible practiucally by heart, I've read it all the way through 5 times. I also know every difference in all the different translations. So I don't need any more lectures from Ms. Priet, okay.

    AND

    b. I don't believe in any of that WATERFALL!!!! TO YOU I AM A HERETIC!!

Your not gonna change me. I have an open ear to all, and an open heart, but Christians piss me off because your all so god damn dogmatic for your own good....even if some of you come off nicy nice, I almost immediately get pissed off because of past relations with Christians. Hell, if you cant already figure it out, I was one for 13 years!! Ive been baptised, I've been confirmed. I know everything that you know, and more.
