Revival Arena G

Jaya's warp into the Arena was uneventful and almost expected by the monk. After all, random warps seemed to plague him wherever he went. But the surprising part about this particular teleport was the fact that he appeared to be on a battlefield of sorts. One with ghastly machines trying to kill him.

"May Vishnu protect me," He mumbled diving into a ditch to dodge a hail of bullets from one of the terrible machines.
The ditch was certainly helpful as it was fairly long, and it afforded the monk enough time to figure out his next step.

 

Sean made his entrance kind of flashy. His body was covered in flames and he flew onto the field, putting out his flames as he hit the ground, his intention was to psych out his opponent before the battle. though when he saw the battle field and the Terminators walking around, he knew it was pointless.

"Alright! Lets do this!" he yelled at Jaya. "Though I have to warn you, I'm no pushover kid!" he lit his fists on fire, and ran toward Jaya, dodging shots from the Terminators along the way.

 

Overconfidence. A barrier on the path to enlightenment. Jaya thought, running through the trench. There was no way he was not going to get hit, running aboveground like that for so long, so the monk simply kept running through the trench. Unfortunately for him, however, a Terminator resided at the end he was about to reach. But thankfully, Jaya was much too fast, and before it had noticed him, it had been dispatched with a few good Danda poundings. He felt the energy moving, flowing through him momentarily as it began to form the energy sphere that would compose Lakshimi, and for the briefest instant he smiled under his mask.

Clarification: Jaya ran through the trench, and pounded a terminator that was in his way.

 

Sean did his best to dodge, on coming fire, but even he knew it was pointless, so he rolled into a nearby trench to regroup. a Terminator stepped above him and pointed his gun at Sean's head. but before it could fire off a round Sean, melted the end of it's gun with his flames. then, using a burst of fire to propell him up, he set his own foot aflame and sent a kick right through the Terminator's chest.

Sean freed his foot from the now inactive robot, and continued through the trench to his opponent.

 

Jaya purposefully began to go slower in the trench, expending one use of the Offensive in the process to take on any Terminators focused on him, while preparing to wheel about in retaliation. Of course, he feinted having a limp in order to make the speed look convincing. Once Sean reached Jaya, as evidenced by the noise of footsteps, the fake limping would stop, and the monk would about-face, attempting to slice the fire-user with Khanda.*

*Of course, If the chi isn't extended past his arm, then it doesn't really show up, giving his hands a very normal appearance while retaining deadliness.

 

alright, i can't be dumb in this fight. to be here this guy has to be some kinda good fighter. Sean thought to himself. I need to be smart if I wanna stay alive. I need a strategy! Sean engulfed his body in flames and thrust himself into the air, he knew he would be more of a target this way but he doubted his opponent would see this one coming. he flew down at Jaya and prepared his Fireball attack.

 

And true to his thinking, Sean was right. Jaya most certainly wasn't expecting that. Though he heard Sean's feet suddenly stop their pounding in the trench, likely to take a ranged attack of some sort. The monk spun about palms at the ready to deflect the projectile expected to hit. But nobody and nothing was there. Which only meant one thing. Jaya looked up, only barely in time to see Sean hurtling towards him. Unable to form a proper counter, the masked one folded his fists for Danda and held them up to block. To anybody else though, it looked like a feeble attempt to shield oneself from harm in the spur of the moment.

 

Sean's Fireball attack exploded on impact. He flew back up into the air, but when he saw Jaya was next to unscathed, he was very confused.

There's no WAY that guy could walk out of this so easily! that has to be his specialty, he must have some kind of crazy defense! Alright then, I'll just have to try something else. Sean did his best to think on his feet, coming up with a strategy while dodging Terminator gunshots was not the easiest thing however.

 

He is airborne. . . This makes things easier.

Jaya expended the second and final use of the Resistance to use Offensive on Sean, in an attempt to either do as much damage as possible or force him to the ground. The moment his opponent touched down, he decided, he would go after him with a Khanda strike, and failing that, would follow up with a mid-range Vel strike.

 

Sean was still thinking up a good strategy. He doesn't seem to be able to fly, so as long as I'm up here I can attack from a distance and not worry about his counter-attack... but that still leaves these Terminators. I can still take damage from them, and even still, he was able to block my last attack. so maybe an hand-to-hand fight would work? but I don't know what his full power is yet. For all I know, he's just as strong as he is defensive. However, I have my fire on my side, even on the ground I can do long range and short range attacks. I guess landing would work best for now, at least I wont have to worry about being shot! He dodged another bullet and flew down into the trench waiting for his enemy to attack.

 

Clearly he is of the mid-ranged sort, so I must force him to engage me in close combat. . . Jaya thought, watching his opponent land. Forming his hands into Vel, the monk took on a very narrow stance and got within range to attack, moving lightly on his feet. Once he reached the edge of his two yard radius (for that particular fist), he began launching chi strikes. Certainly this would force the pyromancer to do one of two things - either he would assume that Jaya is a ranged fighter, and move in closer to catch him off guard, or retreat to draw this into a long ranged battle.

 

Sean did his best to dodge the chi attacks. Alright, so he can use long range attacks too, interesting guy. well I proved that my fire ball will do nothing so maybe I can trick him. Sean set a burst of flame to thust him at Jaya. he made it look like he was going in for a punch, one that would be easily blocked no matter how you looked at it, but when he got really close to Jaya he cried out:

"RAGING INFERNO!!!" sending out a wave of fire from his body.

 

Sean was clearly an intelligent opponent - or at least, somebody who had seen some fighting before - as indicated by his strategy so far. So, naturally, it seemed quite strange that he would adopt such a straightforward strategy. So, instead of continuing his Vel assault, Jaya, stepped backwards one step, stood up straight, and held one hand (The left) out in the Abhayamudra pose, resting his right arm at his side. Once Sean stopped and unleashed his attack, Jaya unleashed his Palm defense, expending one-half the energy earned from beating the Terminator earlier. Once the flames were sufficiently deflected, the monk finally leapt into an offensive mode, shuffling forward on light feet while slashing at Sean with Khanda. His opponent was close enough for Jaya not to need to extend his Khanda past his arm.

 

Sean was taken off guard by Jaya's counter-attack so he took the full impact. the attack sent him into the wall of the trench, with the impact Sean coughed up blood.

This is not good! now with these new Terminators this just more complicated. Not to mention this guy is crazy strong! I'll have to stick with long distance attacks in order to win.

"I want to use my first Resistance call!" yelled Sean. as he said it rugged soldiers stormed the field taking down a few Terminators. "Now then" said Sean turning back to Jaya "TAKE THIS!!! BREATH OF FIRE!!!!" as he said it a jet of flame erupted from his mouth.


OOC: this will be my last post for a about 4 days, I'll be away on vacation and wont have access to the internet. If I happen to come across wifi there, then I will post but don't rely on that.

 

Overgrown consort! Jaya growled internally, hearing Freya's announcement. Jaya moved forward while using a the second and final Palm earned from beating the terminator earlier closing the distance between the two of them in a moment easily. Forming his left hand into Vel and his right into Danda, he struck, aiming for the Sean's stomach with the piercing strike and his ribcage with his bludgeoning strike, using his forward momentum to full advantage.

 

Dazed from the last attack Dean was unable to prepare for Jaya's next strike. he was driven further into the wall, and he tasted more blood in his mouth. he fell to his knees not sure how much longer he could stay awake. he put a hand to his side and felt the cut he had received from Jaya's first attack.

Not good! This is so not good! The fight is nearly over, I can feel it. but I'm not done just yet! I still have another trick up my sleeve. I can use my last resort attack...the Nova! but for it to work to it's full power I need to bring Jaya into close quarters. Ok I have an idea. Sean slowly got to his feet and ignited his body. he flew into the air and sent jets of flame around Jaya, the fire spread into a ring enclosing the field. it would force them both to engage in close combat, all Sean had to do was go down and wait for the perfect time to unleash Nova. Sean flew into the circle and did his best to get into a fighting stance while attempting to avoid upsetting his aching side.

 

With the advent of Sean's near downfall, Jaya initiated his mantra, charging up more energy. What he didn't realize, however, was that his opponent recovered rather quickly. By the time he realized that Sean was in the air, it was too late. The pyromancer was up in the air, setting an ignition ring around them. The monk took this one moment to look at the situation critically.

His opponent sealed him off for a reason. That much was clear. Either to take him out with a ranged attack, buy himself time to heal, or prepare something big. The latter seemed most likely with Sean's re-entry into the ring. So, Jaya did the one thing that seemed best to him. Gathering some energy, he turned tail and ran for the edge of the circle. Half a second before he hit fire, he sent a Palm in his path and dove through, minimizing fire damage. The monk pulled this leap into a roll and simply just kept running, avoiding the Terminators as best he could while looking for another trench. Sean was wounded, and it was only a matter of time before he ran out of juice.

 

Sean couldn't believe what he had just seen.

He...he RAN?!? I'm running on fumes, I'm wounded all over...and he RUNS?!?! being the young man Sean was, he had been kinda looking forward to a climactic ending to this fight, and Jaya had denied him just that. Sean shook his head. Alright, I can still fly and use the Nova. I just need to find a good opening. with that Sean Flew back into the air and zoned in on Jaya. He needed to finish this quickly. flying as fast as he could Sean came right up to Jaya. giving a mocking wave he prepared to unleash his finishing move. it was all or nothing.
