Social Group Notifications

I was hoping that the site could add a new notification message under where it says "Your Notifications" under our name. I'm finally in an active Social Group(s) and I want to know when either a new Social Group thread or post has been made. It could really help if this was made no I'm not falling behind on anything. Does this sound like a good idea?
