Something on Vocal Minorities (I have no idea where else to put it)

Reading that forum, jeez man, we pee on a church or something?

Those folks aren't just angry, they're down right offended we didn't psychically know to tailor the game to their liking. Pity that's such a typical trend for all game making these days. Its sad to know having uberdorks call you names and ranting how you've disrupted the universe or something is now almost a badge of honor, showing your successfulness. If you build it, trolls will come.

No wonder commercial gaming can't make games like they used to. They got to filter through this massive mess just to find feedback they can use while trying not to step on these little brat's eggshell feeling too much.

Why do I have a feeling the internet's loudest people are the ones no one listens to in real life?

And here's an excerpt from the TV Tropes article for Vocal Minority

Kingdom Hearts is often labeled as a series filled with nothing but Yaoi obsessed fangirls because of the more vocal group who post online.

Doesn't that make any of you KH fans pissed?!?

Which part? Either way, no. For what you're saying, about KH being labled as having nothing but Yaoi fans, I can think of a few reasons why.

    1. Internet trolls. As the thing above stated:

    2. There are Yaoi fans, and they are either trolls or insanely vocal about something that doesn't matter. There's an awful lot of yaoi fanwork on the internet.

    3. KH itself. The concept of friendship the game has causes people to think that the characters are gay, simply because of just how close of friends characters are.

For the reasons DW stated, I can see why someone might think the KH fanbase is nothing but Yaoi fangirls, but I think Yaoi fangirls are everywhere. Hell, you can take any two characters, from any fandom, and I have no doubt you could find a piece of artwork online showing them as a couple. People just like shipping. I don't know that KH's fangirls are any more vocal than say the Harry Potter fangirls. But other factors (like the close friendships DW mentioned) twist perceptions a bit, maybe.

I think there tends to be a lot of misconceptions about the average KH gamer anyhow, on account of the perceived childishness of the series (based on the presence of Disney).

No. For one, I don't really identify as a KH fan, though I'm fond of the (early) series. Two, there are always trolls, in every fandom, who make everyone else look bad. I just try and find the humor in it. Getting upset about it just feeds the trolls and makes 'em keep at whatever they're doing.

I definitely agree with this sentiment.

The following excerpt from the TV Tropes page for DarthWiki/ComplainAboutShowsYouDontLike helped me figure out the problem:

"In my day, we wrote pairing/slash/self-insert-romance fic discreetly in a notebook for our private entertainment instead of splattering our burgeoning sexuality all over the Internet and sundry passers-by. Yes, I'm looking at you, deviantART."

So it wasn't their fault, the fault of Square Enix, or my younger brother's fault. If anything, the blame should be placed on deviantART.
