[Spoilers] Most Pleasant Surprises and Biggest Disappointments

    Let's face it, we all had our moments which we loved and bits we hated. And I'm not talking about the "I hate the Atlantis world in KH2" type of hate. I'm talking about the stuff like "Aw man, I wish they had included the Jungle Book world in Birth by Sleep".

    So I decided to bring up a topic where we dicuss our greatest surprises and biggest disappointments. I will allow Atlantis hatred here providing it's got reason like "I wish they had done it like in KH1. That was enjoyable" . Now the surprises and disappointments can be from any game in the franchise.

    So without further a do, here's my most pleasant surprises

    • Kairi's Heart was in Sora throughout KH1 : I was actually shocked by this. And Sora's sacrifice sealed the deal
    • Xehanort took over Terra's body : Didn't shock me as much as Kairi's heart, but this also won me over especially when Aqua has to fight her best friend
    • Fantasia being in Dream Drop Distance : I feared this world would never appear as it was a series of short animations to music. The fact it made it into a world and in the manner you visit it is amazing!
    • The Ending to KH1 : I was expecting a happy ever after story. But this actually ends on a neutral ending. Sora loses a friend and saves a friend. It was a perfect ending to the start of a franchise

    And of course, stuff I was disappointed about

    • In Dream Drop Distance, you don't get to fight Frollo despite the fact we know he can fight
    • In Dream Drop Distance, you fight Chernabog in the Dive instead of fighting him like in KH1
    • The Jungle Book world was taken out of Birth By Sleep : Based on the depth in the film based on the fact it's a disney film, this would've fitted into Birth by Sleep perfectly
    • Some of the Organization Members are lacking detail : Larxene, Marluxia, Demyx and Luxord I still have no idea where they came from
    • We don't get KH3 until at least after Final Fantasy Versus XIII : This was expected but not because we have to wait for Versus. Because I am looking forward to Versus. What I am disappointed about is that there STILL isn't an estimated released date for Versus which could mean we may even have to wait half a decade for KH3. Frankly I'm disappointed with Square Enix for being tactless

    Those are my surprises and greatest disappointments. What's yours?

    Hmm, I'll name a few off the top of my head. My list will only be about KH and KH II because I haven't played the spin offs in a while and I don't remember what disappointed me or pleasantly surprised me. I may need to edit my list.

    Pleasant Surprises:

    • That Pirates of the Caribbean was in KH II. I didn't see that one coming because it didn't strike me as being similar to the other worlds that they had chosen, but I loved it a lot.
    • As mentioned previously, that Kairi's heart was present in Sora's in Kingdom Hearts.
    • That Stitch made an appearance in KH II; He's so cute.
    • That Maleficent used her Dragon form in KH. (She was so difficult to beat.)
    • The ending of KH II was pleasant because I felt like I needed one more "Big Game" before it all ended and KH III is what I'm looking for.
    • That Winnie the Pooh was still included in the story of KH II (I thought it would be over after the first game.)

    Biggest Disappointments:

    • That Maleficent went all soft in KH II (I missed her evil self >_>)
    • That not all of the Organization XIII members had a great character development.
    • Atlantica in KH II was disappointing compared to KH because I actually enjoyed that world in the first game.
    • That Pete took on the role of "Bad Guy" in place of Maleficent, but he was slightly annoying.
    • Olympus disappointed me in KH because the storyline is so much better in KH II (I played KH II before KH, just so you know.)

    So yeah, there's the basics to my list.
