Square Enix and Capcom Tease New Titles


More games on the way from Japanese giants. But first, they toy with us.

June 26, 2009 - If you love being teased by video game companies -- and really, who doesn't? -- Friday was heaven over in Japan thanks to Square Enix and Capcom.

Square Enix started the day off with a countdown site that looks like it will lead to an unveiling on July 6. The site depicts a sketched background scene with a giant four in the background, all set to some retroriffic music. The background will supposedly be filled in as the days go by.

As we pondered this latest teaser site and the implications of the "4," Capcom stepped up with a teaser site of its own. This one displays the number (or possibly year) "1560" across the screen. And that's it! There's no counter, so we're not sure when this one will get properly unveiled.

The Capcom site is accessible off the Sengoku Basara (aka Devil Kings) official site, so it could be a new entry in that series. As for the Square Enix title, we're totally stumped, so speculate away in the comments section. If you guess right, you could win the admiration of your peers!




I'm guessing a Dragon Quest game.
