The Hunger Games

    I was bored and clicking around on IMDB, and I noticed that they've got the page up for the Hunger Games movie coming out in 2012, with the cast list and whatnot. The Hunger Games

    Any fans of the book series or fans of movies in general have any thoughts?

    I'm really hoping this is an awesome movie, because I need something to fill the gap left by the ending of Harry Potter and nothing else so far has stepped up. Jennifer Lawrence, the girl cast as Katniss, is the same actress playing Mystique in X-Men: First Class, and I think she's a good choice. There's a photo of her in Katniss get-up on the cover of Entertainment -> Linkage. Not so sure about Josh Hutcherson as Peeta, though. But then, I still think of him as Jess in Bridge to Terabithia. >_<

    Oh, and Woody Harrelson as Haymitch? Yes! Particularly after seeing him as Tallahassee in Zombieland.

    There's also a rumor on IMDB that the first trailer will be attached to Breaking Dawn in November. I hope it's true- might even get me into the theater to see BD (though probably it'd be less painful to wait until someone with a video camera slaps it on Youtube).

    It has been a while since I have seen the first trailer that was shown months ago on the movie. Still, who will be playing as Katniss's lovers?

    It was eventual. The books were a huge hit, and I'm excited to see the movie. I don't know who any of the current cast members are, but I'm waiting for who else will be announced

    It sounds really interesting...
    Have any of you read the book?
    Can't wait for a movie, always good to watch after the book.

    Yes, I've read all three of them. They're worth checking out.

    The entire cast list, as far as I can tell, is on IMDB (see the first link in my post above), though I suppose it's subject to change. The only other cast members I can remember without looking are Lenny Kravitz as Cinna and Stanley Tucci as Caesar Flickerman.

    I'm excited for this. I hope it turns out well.

    These books are soo good and i can't wait till the movie comes out. It better be as good as the books and i think it will be because the writer of the book wrote the movie so hopfully they will be almost the same. The girl playing Katniss isn't who i would think of when i thought of Katniss but she will do the job.
    I think that Josh Hustherson will do a good job i saw his picture of him dressed as peeta and he had blonde hair and blue eyes.

    Jennifer Lawrence is an Academy Award-nominated actress and I really liked her in X-Men: First Class. And apparently her Academy Award-nominated role is similar to Katniss, though I haven't seen the movie so I can't say for sure. I think she has the talent to become Katniss, and with her hair dark and in the tributes' outfit, I think she looks close enough to the Katniss in my head, even if she may not be identical to the book's description. Certainly she's much better than some of the names I saw tossed around for the role on message boards-actresses like Kristen Stewart, Emma Roberts, and Chloe Moretz.

    I also think he has a kind-looking face, which suits Peeta. I haven't seen the blond hair yet, though. The pictures I've seen on the set still make it look brown. Though to be honest, I don't care very much what color hair he has, as long as he can act.

    Really, I had no casting preferences or expectations, so I'm down with whoever the get. I heard that Suzanne Collins signed off on the choices, too, and if she doesn't think the actors will butcher her characters, I reckon it'll be okay.
