Today I was watching the news and saw that they found the top 5 musicians of all time. I'm pretty happy with this list...

    1. The Beatles
    2. Bob Dylan
    3. Michael Jackson
    4. Led Zeppelin
    5. Rolling Stone

So a pretty sweet list, so what do you think of this list?

A complete list can be found HERE

    GrandShadow I accept your challange.

Beatles, Rolling Stones, and Jackson are right but i've never heard of Dylan and Zepplin sucks s***
i'd throw Elvis on that list for sure but then for #5 i'm not sure. i guess i'll say U2 cause of all the charity work they do

Funny how the Beatles are on top. I say that only because I was reading some page on the internet some time ago, and it was about more records sold or something. And Elvis Presley had more records sold than the Beatles did. And as one friend of mine described the time: You were either an Elvis fan or a Beatles fan.

It really doesn't matter completely on record sales though it depends on concert ticket sails and everything else. But I like The Beatles so I'm happy they're number 1

Though Elvis I believe was like number 7 on the list.

Rush should totally be ahead of Zepplin, just saying.

I wouldn't put Bob Dylan and Led Zeppelin so high up there but maybe thats just because they're not really my genre so they don't seem that great to me :/ I'm not a big Elvis fan but even I would put him somewhere in that top 5.

I wonder what Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, and ABBA are doing in there.

I kinda was thinking the same thing!
It's kinda sad that bands these days cant be as great as all those bands were. Exept for bob dylan....idk who that is!

I'm starting to like the Beatles a lot. I should listen to more of their songs. I have noo idea who Bob Dylan is lol Replace him with Jimi Hendrix or something >>

You know what's ironic about that. Jimi did a cover of one of Bob Dylan's songs, and he was a big Bob Dylan fan.

If you're wondering which song, well, I'm sure all you Hendrix fans know "All Along the Watchtower".

Absolutely not. Led Zeppelin is not only better, but also more influential in the music industry.

Also, much of what's modern on this list is terrible. I'm not liking the exclusions of guys like Anthony Green or James Mercer

I highly agree, not only that but many people have changed music should be high on that list, people such as Led Zepplin, Johnny Cash, Elvis, heck even Louie Armstrong; they all changed music to what we listen to today

Are you saying that Rush didn't change music? They were basically a pioneering force in the progressive rock genres.

Uhm no. Pretty sure I was just saying that they were not as influential to music as a whole as Led Zeppelin has been.

Rush has had more greatest hits than Led Zeppelin, although not dissing LD or anything since "Kashmir" is truly a great song.

Why the hell is Bob Dylan at #2?

    Drugs. Lots of them.

I'm going to add. . . . Claude Debussey. Composer of the Nocturnes, the collection of music* from which Claire de Lune originates.

    *I forget the term.
