What do you think comes next?

    As I recall, Nomura was said that he wants to make more Kingdom Hearts games after KH3 (Somebody might wanna confirm or deny that statement).

    Basically, if the Kingdom Hearts series goes on (And assuming KH3 is the last we see of Xehanort), what would come next? Any ideas/theories/totally random guesses about what would come next?

    Well from what I remember that was stated, the end of KH3 will be the end of the Xehanort saga, and that Sora will still be the main protagonist of the story.

    So assuming that's how it is, there will probably be another threat that arises from somewhere out there in the KH Universe. Heck, maybe Maleficant achieves something great and becomes the main antagonist instead of just a "puppet". I'd like to see Pete as a major boss, and maybe an appearance from Oswald the Rabbit, Mortimer Mouse, or Goofy's son Max.

    Seeing Maleficent come up as the main antagonist for once would be nice. I'm just having some trouble thinking about what sort of bad things would come after Xehanort is defeated since he alone has been driving the plot of the entire series.

    Actually I'd kind of want them to stop after KH3. Sometimes milking a franchise isn't always a great thing, and some FF games are prime examples of that. They'd have to pull something real far out of their ass to create a whole new storyline which would take a long time (I'm assuming) to complete.

    I have to agree with Ovum. I have a hard time imagining how the story could stay fresh, especially if Sora is still the main character. It just seems like any bad guy they come up with will have similar goals to Xehanort, because they're all going to be after the power of Kingdom Hearts in some way or another. I don't know.

    If I got to choose, I think I'd want any newer games to either take place in the very distant past, following an entirely different keyblade wielder, or else in the very far future, likewise focused on a different keyblade wielder. Something entirely removed from the current series, with just enough touches of some familiar worlds to tie it into one universe.
