X-blade?

    So why IS this legendary Keyblade pronounced "Keyblade" but written as the X-blade? I mean, if you just say "Keyblade", you could technically refer to ANY Keyblade in existence :/ have I completely missed something?

    And what makes Ventus so special that HIS heart is the key to the X-blade??

    You have played both BBS and KH DDD, haven't you?

    Well, if I recall correctly, the Greek letter 'X' was pronounced 'Chi' (Key). That's why it's spelled X-Blade and pronounced keyblade.

    Spoilers lie ahead.

    Master Xehanort extracted the darkness from Ventus' heart and formed Vanitas. Then he made them clash to reform the X-Blade, because when a heart of pure light and a heart of pure darkness clash, the X-Blade is formed, hence why Ventus' heart is connected to it.
