    To Arcanus, Kilana replied, "With pleasure," before hearing Junko's response to the orders. She hissed at the other female in anger, seething with feral rage from the insult. Tempering her fury into a silent storm, she whispered, "One of these days, you're going to end up my meal. And you will regret ever having messed with me. I'm always cleaning up after your messes, it would only be fair. . ."

    Kilana strolled away from Arcanus, holding her hands behind her back. Her anger had turned into maniacal glee, barely held in as she contemplated her next meal. Next one that shirks away is mine! She cheered internally.

    "Well, as much as I don't wanna leave my mom all to her lonesome, she's always got that new assistant at the shop. I s'pose that I'd better get finished packing, huh? I really just need to get one thing, and then my packing will be complete," Sei told Sora, continuing, "So, go grab our stuff and meet up back at the storage?"

    Kuro gave a questioning look as she said "completely in love" but shook it off knowing she would never be able to like him. Not in a million years. As he leaned on the wall behind him, the bricks bridged open and formed a doorway, causing him to fall through. With a frown, showing he was once again weak, he dusted his pants and looked at the stairway leading towards the streets of Traverse Town.
    "That's weird. We've never seen this before"
    Kuro shrugged and trudged up the stairs, still feeling a somewhat pain in his stomach. It was very minor now.
    "I'll see you later then!" he bellowed.

    Sora crossed her arms.

    "Just don't be late!" She shouted after him and turned to Sei and grinned. "And awesome. Correct at the storage. I still got to finish gathering some stuff I got." Sora stated before running off. Completely unaware to everybody else of the shadow that 'belonged' to Sora moving a little delayed.

    Sora ran in her room and pulled out the cardboard box under her bed. She pulled out the three medium sacks. She did them up one for each of her friends. Them filled up with potions and accesories. There was also a special surprise in each one she. She grinned remembering them as she pulled out her own the small star charm fitting right in the palm of her hand. The turqoise blue star shining from some glitter she put on it.

    The wayfinder, a special charm used to show an inseperable bond and good luck, designed after a rare exotic fruit growing on a tree far, far away. Sora remembered the one traveler tell her as he showed her his own. Since then she made a lilac one for Sei, orange-red one for Kuro, and a turquoise one for herself. She stuck it back in her bag. She then remembered the book she found. She pulled it out and looked at it, it was small but not too small. Perfect size for a journal. She smiled and put it in her bag before going over her mental list of everything.

    Junko silently and oblivious hid in the girl's shadow watching her every move. She could already tell a few things from this girl...

    1.) She cared about her friends
    2.) She obviously likes the one boy
    3.) She's adventurous
    4.) She likes legends
    5.) She's brave
    6.) She smart
    7.) She's got a light heart.

    Out of all those details what mattered most was the light in her heart. Junko by now would try to infrutrate the girl's heart but she couldn't. It was locked up.

    'Arcanus, the girl's heart, I cannot gain access to, it's like it's under some lock and key. I'm leaning more towards she's the key.' Junko reported to Arcanus.

    Not what I had in mind.*

    Zeije had hoped for the chance to teach the residents of the town a lesson or two. Cutting off their escape routes did not seem too fitting to such a desire; in fact, it seemed like Arcanus was trying to hold him back. He could see the reason why quite clearly, and did not think to argue against the orders (last time that had happened, it ended rather embarrassingly for him. It ate away at his nerves nonetheless, and he walked away from his master with a hopeful grimace. Perhaps if he got the job done quickly, he'd be able to join Kilana or Junko with their missions.*

    Pfff. Those two are more trouble than they're worth.

    The thought sprang into his mind from nowhere, and only worked him up*more. It was the truth, as far as he was concerned. The two bad proven time and time again that they were interested in weeding each other out of Arcanus' trust than actually getting anything done. Zeije could only *imagine what it would be like with one, or even both of them gone. His vision of such a change in the ranks had him convinced that their tasks would only become smoother in execution. But for the time being, Arcanus was stuck between the two cooing and begging for his favor as alpha female, and he, Zeije, was left let it pan out.*

    Forget them. Time to get to work.

    Running a sense of auto-pilot, he entered the First District, coming to a halt at the massive gate through which refugees were periodically arriving. The next round of arrivals could be there a any minute; he'd have to work quickly if exposure was to be avoided. But what to do about it? Arcanus had taught him to make barriers, but only around small areas, and they kept things in and out of their confinement. Holding people in was one thing, and wouldn't be brought into question by anyone until it was too late. Keeling people out would only expedite exposure. There had to be a way of keeping people in without blocking anyone out.*

    That's it!

    The idea hit him almost as soon as he became aware of his dilemma. He needed no barrier to keep people from leaving the town. It wasn't about keeping them in as much as it was dissuading them from even wanting to. There would be no barrier, but instead, a team of guards, hidden and poised to strike when necessary, stationed around every possible exit and escape point. He looked to the shadow cast under a high lamp post. As if existing as the shadow itself, a set of eyes, barely visible as dull gray parches against the black, looked back at him. They did not blink, and did not break from him, awaiting what orders be had to give. They were put simply, for*same*of time.*

    Arrivals are fine. But no one leaves this world unless it's us.

    The eyes gave a single blink before vanishing into the darkness. The Heartless would soon be perched in stealth around every possible escape route. Anyone who tried to make a break for it would be cut down to size, or else consumed by the darkness, assimilated into the ranks of the Heartless. Zeije was pleased with the idea, though whether Arcanus would be was questionable. Seeing his work as done, he walked away from the front gates, leaving the First District all together. He thought about it for a moment, and decided to look for Junko.*

    Kilana will have no trouble with refugees. If they fled from us before, then they're obviously no match. But if the girl Jun spoke of is worth anything, having a second bearing on her wouldn't be a bad idea... so then where are you, Jun?

    Kuro entered inside an empty house, of what he called his own. He recently made his own dinner, cleaned everything and looked after himself. He sighed, as he sat down on a creaky couch. He turned on the lamp beside him and the room illuminated into color.
    "You never told them, did you?" a voice inside his head told him.
    "Who's there!?"
    It was himself. His own being. His mind playing tricks on him.
    "You're pathetic, you know that? You just let those nobodies kill them! You could have saved them but no, they're dead and its your fault. You have a weak heart and you will never become like the keyblade bearers."
    He looked up at the replica keyblade he made.
    "I want to become stronger so nothing like this ever happens to Sora or Sei..."
    He picked up the replica keyblade, wanting to be able to carry one.
    "I will make sure nothing like that ever happens again to the people I love; especially Sora" he told his consciousness. After packing some essential books from his parents' collection and some food, he left the house, never looking back.

    Sei nodded and waved to the other two, heading to the diamond in the center of the room and activating it. It was a first, curious try for him, so the sudden motion was just that: Sudden. When it finally stopped, he was in a cave under the place.

    "Now, if I'm right, this should lead to the Second District," He muttered, exiting through a badly patched-up gap in the grates leading there. His reentrance into the alley was a welcome surprise, and Sei grinned a grin. Once he had made it out of there and back into the Second District, he made a beeline for his home. The young man barged into his room and grabbed his bag, already packed and waiting. But there was still one thing missing.

    "Sorry, Mom, but I think I'll need this a bit more," He apologized to his mother, though she was at the shop and not actually present. He removed the pistol from its case over the stove, grabbing the ammunition and shoving it into his duffel bag. With care, he replaced it with a note he had written the night before, explaining his actions.

    With one last glance around the place, he tearfully uttered, "Good-bye," before heading out the door and directly to the storage where the ship was being kept.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Kilana grinned. The bones she left in the alley were piling up. Her kimono was stained with a glorious red, almost dripping like her hand were. Licking her chops, the woman cackled, "Oh, how delicous. How wonderfully filling they are!"
    And it was only the appetizer.
    Sora ran out of the house everything packed and the small packages for her friend. She slid her hand into her pocket of a jacket she threw on. The jacket was similar to what Sora is pictured to wear, a small black short sleeve jacket. She arrived at the storage area. She walked around and saw it. She opened up the gate to pull off the cover of the small, but large enough for at least 4 people, red gumi ship.
    Sora turned hearing footsteps and saw nobody. She turned back around and then saw Sei.
    "Hey. So let's get this thing fired up." Sora stated crossing her arms when a door to the cockpit opened up. She walked inside and over to a metal door opening it up to the small cabin of four beds or two bunk beds. In the room was also four metal lockers in which she opened up and stuck her bag inside it.
    "So we're waiting on Kuro then we're out of here." Sora grinned at Sei walking back out and pulling out the keys and stuck it in the lock unlocking the controls.
    Junko watched curiously and knew that Sora would be escaping, she was going to stop her when the girl turned around. Jun decided better not to give herself away, quite yet.
    'Arcanus, the girl and her two friends, they're planning a trip, what should I do?' Junko asked Arcanus.
    Kuro was behind Junko as he saw her sneak around. He remembered her black beady eyes and ever since she met him, he has felt an eerie atmosphere around Traverse Town. He knew that she was the cause of the heartless but why were they here if they were from the darkness? Without taking any chances, he quickly side stepped out of the way and walked inside the gummi ship as he would have done before noticing her.
    Kuro holding his fake keyblade entered inside the hangar.
    "Hey, do you think this would actually work?" he asked Sora. He looked down at the keyblade he was holding. "I thought this would make a good luck charm, if you were wondering."
    Before anyone could act, he closed the doors of the gummi ship.
    "We should go. I saw that creepy girl spy on us. I think she might be some sort of darkness. She's the one who sprang those heartless on me. They're right behind us. We have to go now"
    "That's simple." Arcanus answered, looking at something in his hand. The object was enveloped in darkness and disappeared. "Toss this to the ship." The object that was in his hand appeared in Junko's hand. "It'll attach itself to the ship. Don't worry about them leaving. It is time for them to leave this world." Arcanus held another object in his hand, similar to the one he gave Junko. "This will be a nice suprise for them whenever they decide I'm an enemy." Arcanus rang the bell in the Second District, revealing the keyhole.
    Once near the keyhole, Arcanus attached the object to the mural where the keyhole was. "Traverse Town will no longer be a place for refugees of the horrors of the outside world. And with every means of escape sealed off the people of this world will tear each other apart until they realize how hopeless their situation is."
    "As soon as the girl and her friends leave this world, report to the Badlands." Arcanus sent a message into the minds of his servants. "The girl's departure will be the trigger to this world's destruction."
    Sora looked at him and nodded.
    "Most positive. Now if I'm doing this correct and reading the manual, the ship has an auto pilot feature. Just I hit this and hit in coordinates which, hmmm..." She turned and hit random coordinates. "Then hit this button." She finalized when she did the ship started up and slowly began to rise.
    Junko looked at the disk and nodded her body becoming a shadow as she attatched herself to the ship and attatched the disk to the ship hiding it in view where no one would be able to see it and where it could not get harmed. She slowly faded away to where she was told to go.
    "Everybody take your seats!" Sora exclaimed as the ship blasted off causing her to fall back in the seat behind her.
    Kuro sat down with less enthusiasm than Sora. The only thing on his mind were his parents crying for him to run away and never turn back. He did however and saw the house empty. They were taken but not killed. At first he thought they were but as he watched the stars flicker within the skies, he knew they might be out there somewhere. They could be safe. He remained to look at the stars with a frown on his face, not listening to anyone else. He also thought about how the darkness spiraled around him and formed heartless. Why would that happen to him? Who was to blame? Was it that girl or himself?
    The ship flew on its own as they journeyed farther away from their home world before the ship came to a stop. She looked around confused.
    "I guess the coordinates I plugged in didn't have a true destination." She shrugged and looked back at her two friends. "Any coordinate ideas?" She asked them when her eyes landed on Kuro. She looked at him confused but didn't have time to react when the ship suddenly shook violently.
    "What the?!" She exclaimed falling to the floor of the ship and looking out the window at the black hole sucking them in. The ship finally stopped as it impacted something hard. Slowly Sora pushed herself up looking at the cracked window.
    "Are you guys ok?" She asked looking out the window at the strange world around.
    The world was very dark, the sky had no stars in it. There were several floating platforms in the sky though. It was very bizarre.
    Sei grinned a foolish grin, peering out the windows of the ship. As soon as the ship was flying steady, he unbuckled his seat and was at the window, peering out into the darkness of space.
    "Wow, Traverse Town is so far away, already!" He exclaimed, watching as the world shrank into the backdrop of stars. With another grin tossed to his friends, he cheered, "And just look at the stars! I've never seen so many 'cuz all the lights!"
    Of course things just had to go wrong when he turned his attention to the front. As the portal sucked the ship in, Sei was thrown into the wall then into the floor of the ship. Once he finally gained his wits about him, he groaned in mild pain.
    "Oww. . . Th' heck was that?" He grumbled, looking about the place, "And where are we?"
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Kilana watched as the ship streaked across the sky before disappearing into the unseen stars. Her face was still bloody from her most recent encounter, a shopkeep that knew who she was before her little. . . incident. She smiled eerily, noting the instructions just delivered, and opened a portal back to the Badlands, closing it almost immediately after she exited. From out of nowhere, it seemed, she pulled a clean towel out and began wiping the blood off her face and body in a sultry manner, hoping that Arcanus would see when he arrived.

    The device attached to Traverse Town's keyhole started blinking a red light. Arcanus began to walk away, but stopped and turned to look at the device. He instead touched it, turning it off. "Perhaps keeping this world's destruction as a bargaining chip will be better suited for my goals. After all I don't want to push them too far in one direction so soon. Anyways, it's about time for them to have reached my world by now. If they landed where I directed, they should start at the trail I've left for them. It's never too early for them to have something to fight against." Arcanus then opened up a dark portal. As he began walking through it, darkness covered him, his armor appearing again.

    Kuro laid his head on the window, looking at the stars.
    I don't know what to do. I have no one to look to. My parents are gone and Sora...
    Suddenly his thoughts crashed as his head slammed against the window and fell down to the floor with a gash of blood streaking down from his forehead to his mouth. He was still awake but his vision was blurred and his head felt like a beating drum, being knocked down by the drumstick over and over again by the deep pulses of his heart. He held his head with his hand and frowned.
    Maybe the worlds just hate me
    He turned to his friends and sighed.
    "Let's carry on" he told them, not knowing how lucky he was; it could have been much worse.

    We're leaving so soon?

    At the sound of his master's voice echoing in his head, Zeije came to an abrupt halt in the midst of the Second District. They were leaving town; but they had only just arrived. Even more disturbing, they were, from the sound of it, going to let their supposed target skip town without so much as a fight. It wasn't often Arcanus' disposition to allow someone they were after to just escape like that. Maybe he was starting to lose his toouch, though that wasn't very likely. Then again, Zeije figured that there was some sort of plan in the works, one that could play the girl right right into their hands. There was, however, the last bit, which was, by far, the most chilling prospect: the destruction of the world they were on. He hadn't liked it much, but seeing it destroyed on the spot didn't sit quite right. He could try to pursuade Arcanus not to level the place, but he was again reminded of what results it would yield to challenge his superior.

    "Bah!" In an instant of forced supression, he rid himself of his discomforts. Why should he care if this world was left to the darkness? He couldn't even come with an answer to that, which left him in the only right mind: that there was no reason for him to care. Half-absentminded, he peered to the nearest shadowed space in the District, and let out a sound like a grunt and a throat clearing. In the shadows, a pair of gleaming yellow eyes opened out of the black, staring back at him intently. "Yeah," he said, "we're leaving this place. Not worth keeping people in if it's just gonna get decked to hell. Go tell the rest to abandon their posts. And be quick about it.

    As the eyes vanished, Zeije readied his departure. Arm rose up above his head, pointing straight to the sky, his hand clenched into a loose fist. Giving it a single fluid motion, he whipped his arm down, releasing the clench of his fist. It was an unnecessary motion, but he had gotten into the habit doing it anyways, especially when his temper got worked. Motion added or not, he had gotten what he desired; the portal through the Dark Corridors opened before him, and with not the slightest hesitation, he stepped through it. As always, the trip through the Corridor was a short one, a few seconds at most, until he was let back out in the midst of the light once more.

    He stepped out from the Corridor, onto the ground on the world he had arrived on. It wasn't soft, exactlyl but it wasn't rock hard either. The surface of the flat, desoloate plane around him was matted in coarse, tough sand that shifted only with the pressure of his weight place upon it. He was fixed to guess that the arrival of himself (and the others, perhaps) had disturbed the place, for no sooner had he stepped foot on the ground, did the winds pick up, kicking a sandstorm over his vision. It mattered little though, for he was on a set path forward, marked by what seemed to be a rickety, battered fencing that lined the road before him. "So this these are The Badlands," he said, starting to walk, and take in the scene around him. With such an abused surface, it was no wonder it had made that name for itself. Nothing of worth could ever live in such a place, or even be gained from it.

    Is that? Yes it is... regrettably.

    Up ahead, lazing around in wait for Arcanus, stood Kilana, a cloth in her hand, just visible over the distance and through the veil of the sandstorm. Her movements were of an obviously seductive manner, no doubt trying to coax the attentions of the master. It was a quite sickening, really. "You." It was all Zeije could get through his lips as he drew near enough to her, at least until he had formed the rest of his sentence. "You don't take any of this too seriously; neither of you do, you and Junko."

    Sora nodded at Kuro's comment and stepped out of the wreck ship. She landed on the ground which under her feet was smooth, it was like walking on glass. The ground below her glowed slightly, which thank goodness for the world was very dark.

    "So lets try and find some help." She stated looking back at her two friends before starting down the winding path.

    The path was a long path, venturing on for forever it would seem. Sora came to a stop at what appeared to be a portal. She looked around before stepping through it, her surroundings changed as she did step through. She looked around at the surroundings. The sky showed it was night and starless. The path turned from glass to dirt and was grassy on both sides of her.

    "What could this place be?" She said aloud not meaning to have anyone answer her. She kept walking though, she herself wasn't quite sure. She came to a cross road. To her right was another winding dirt path up a hill.

    'Oblivion lies that way, to the path of Twilight. Many have ventured there hoping to find their memories.' A voice told Sora in her head. She looked straight ahead the area flashed before her eyes and changed as she stood in some desert wasteland, key shaped swords replacing the once grassy landscape, keyblade.

    'The path leads to where two sides once clashed, here is where the true light was made a shape and three great heroes and masters fell into Oblivion.' The voice spoke.

    Sora turned to the left, as the path returned to the glass and nothing around her.

    'The path not traveled by many, for no one truly knew what lies down that path. It's a path that people fear but always wonder.' Sora looked to her friends in wonder of where to go.

    Kuro looked around at the barren landscape.
    "It looks like a battle field" he told the others, not hearing the voice. Kuro started to walk forward but as he looked that way, he saw a dark heartless in the shape of himself.
    "This is your future, Kuro. You are the one who will bring doom to your friends. You are the one who will join darkness just like the last."
    Kuro suddenly was pulled forward and left his two friends by themselves.
    "LET GO OF ME!" he screamed, as the dark hand started to crush his neck. The hand let go and Kuro stood on a beach with no light; only darkness. The water was purple and the beach was coal black. He stared down at the sand as a tear fell on it.
    "This isn't who I am. I'm not darkness. I want to be like Sora."
    A hooded man came up to him and held his shoulder.
    "Don't worry. Everything's going to be fine. This is a natural thing. To every light, there must be a darkness and you my boy, are the darkness. Sora and Sei don't care about you anyway. They're too perfect for you"
    A coat was placed on top of the boy's shoulders.
    "You will grow powerful. I am sure about that. Perhaps you could even get Sora's attention. You want that don't you?"
    Kuro quivered but nodded. The currents coming from the black ocean sent a chilling air through his spine.
    "Who are you?"
    "I will not tell you at this moment but when the time is right, I will"
    The man grinned beneath his hood.
    A keyblade appeared into Kuro's hands.
    "Take it as a present from me. It is quite an ancient artifact"
    The keyblade was black bladed and red handled.

    Kilana's attention was immediately drawn to one of her comrades that made it back when he began addressing her. A coy grin creeped across her face as a glare to match emitted from her eyes. Of course, the smile only lessened while the glare only fiercened as Zeije grew nearer and finished his sentence.

    "I am Arcanus's best! He trusts me to get rid of all those people!" She explained to him, half-growling as she did so. "I love him, and I won't EVER do anything to get in his way! How dare you tell me that. . ."

    The growl only worsened as she discarded the towel and stood up, taking up an open-armed stance with her hands in a claw shape.
    "How DARE you say I'm not doing my best! If it wouldn't disappoint him, I would take your throat now!"

    The menacing posture disappeared in an instant, the woman opting for a more provocative stance, holding her a hand behind her back while another was raised to her lips, her face turning into a pout.

    "I wonder how you would taste?"

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Sei watched the bizarre events with awe. Granted, he had absolutely no clue what was going on, but hey! At least he wasn't leading or anything! That would be terrible. But when Kuro disappeared, his half-grin disappeared almost immediately.
    "Um, Kuro? Kuro! Don't play hide-and-seek now, I don't like getting the crap scared outta me!" He called out, thinking it was just a joke.
    "Kuro!" Sora exclaimed when he disappeared. She closed her eyes and for some reason and still scensed the path to go down.
    "This way, we'll find him!" She exclaimed running down the path not waiting to see if Sei would follow. Though she cared about her other friend, she had to find Kuro, she had a bad feeling about things.
    Laughter was heard around Kilana and Zeije.
    "Funny, as I do believe I was the one to find the girl that Arcanus is so intrigued on." Junko's voice echoed around them before she walked from the shadows. "If you were so important he wouldn't have you just taking easy hearts like he ordered you to do plus if you ask me the fact you love him shows no signs of true darkness. Love is that of the light, not the dark." Junko stated crossing her arms. "And you, you might be able to command my kind, but your week that you can't control me, a heartless, besides did you do anything on our mission to Traverse Town?"
    "Exactly, neither one of you did anything worthwhile. I was the only one who did anything, I found the true key to Kingdom Hearts in which Arcanus will achieve his goal and we shall recieve true power!" Junko exclaimed. "And Kilana, I know you'll retaliate, just for once though and do me a favor and don't, I hear your annoying voice enough." Junko stated knowing it would get on the woman's nerves.
    Sora kept running and slowed down seeing another portal. She stepped on through and found herself standing in a world of black, black under her, beside her, above her. She took a forward when a bunch of black birds flew up... a bunch of crows flew up crowing when a circle of light appeared under her as soon as white birds flew up, doves. Two birds that represent dark and light. She looked down on the ground replaced by mosaic tile ground. A gasp escaped Sora's mouth when she saw it.
    "Is that... me?" She asked. The mosaic design showed Sora her eyes closed her hands on her chest, on her chest though was a big bright pink heart underneith her hand, underneither her hands over the heart on her chest was a keyhole designed in the heart, behind the girl was a key shaped sword with a beautiful blue design, a keyblade, behind that was a large white door.
    As to answer Sora's thoughts the voice in her head spoke, "Kingdom Hearts... only one can open it up truly to let free its light... only one key... you are THAT key... do not be afraid... you are the key because only you have the power to protect it... you cannot let darkness poison the only source of pure light...'
    Sora was confused none the less but she still muttered to herself, "yeah, no pressure." She looked up and confused. "What does that mean though?!" She exclaimed. Her question was not answered as her surroundings changed and she stood on a beach(not near Kuro, by the way Sei didn't go on that little trip with Sora, she was alone for that, though assuming Sei did follow he would have appeared on the beach, unless you have other plans req).
    Sora was confused and sighed. 'That made no sense!' She exclaimed in her head.
    "Now what, we have to find Kuro..." Sora muttered looking around but wouldn't have time as a shadow rose up behind her(and Sei). The shadow, a darkside heartless, threw its hand down on the ground next to Sora causing her to quickly turn around and look at the heartless and quickly jump back.
    "What the heck is that thing?! I've seen heartless before but nothing like that!" She exclaimed. She grabbed the metal bar hanging on the belt around her waist.
