Yeah, they are. Somewhere or another I read that it was an acronym for General Identification System, but I don't know if that's the canon reason for it, or just some fanon interpretation. There had better be some good reason for it, though, because if there's one thing that can send me into a nerd rage, it's stupid misspellings like that.

I'm kind of looking forward to Avengers 2. I don't much care for the casting of Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, and that's dampened my enthusiasm for the movie a little. But I've enjoyed most of the rest of the Marvel movies, so I don't imagine this will be any different.

Jurassic World reminds me of my childhood. It looks like it could be fun.

I'm also curious about Suicide Squad. The story just sounds kind of cool; I think it could be really interesting.

    IT! As seen here

I am so excited for this movie, due out in September next year. IT is my absolute favorite Stephen King novel, and in my top list of all-time favorites, and the 1990 mini-series, while iconic thanks to Tim Curry's performance, is mostly just kind of not good, not especially faithful to the book, and IMO doesn't hold up very well nowadays. So I am super interested in seeing what comes out of this take on the source material.

Anyone else looking forward to some upcoming releases?

    Murder on the Orient Express.

I pretty much grew up reading Agatha Christie mysteries, and Murder on the Orient Express was one of my favorites. I know that there have been TV and movie adaptations of her work over the years, but I haven't seen any of them, and this movie has a pretty star-filled cast, so I'm interested to see it.

Video game based movies rarely do that great. But as a fan of the tomb raider games, the trailer still interests me. Alicia Vikander certainly looks the part, going off of the new gen series.

^ I don't know much of anything about the video game series, but regardless of the source material, it doesn't seem like it should be difficult to make a good movie off of the premise- Girl!Indiana Jones shouldn't be that hard to make interesting for even non-game fans. Alicia Vikander is normally very talented, so that's a plus. Of course, that doesn't always mean much (see: Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard in Assassin's Creed), but it's better than someone who can't act at all. Looking at the trailer, to me it looks like a generic action movie, but even that's a step up from a lot of the video game adaptations released over the years. Probably, Hollywood should stop releasing these as films and do mini-series on a platform like Netflix instead, where they'll have the time to explain the plot properly and develop the characters into people we actually care about. *shrugs*

Speaking of mini-series (although on Amazon, not Netflix), I've just discovered that they're adapting Good Omens. This is such a hilarious good book, I'm excited to see what comes of it.

    The Incredibles 2!

YES! Why has it taken so long for this to be a thing?

This movie has spawned more threats of violence against children than one would imagine. Threats of violence being people saying they will physically throw children out of the way to make sure they can see it. Not that I disagree with these people....

I will shove anyone and everyone out of my way, not gonna lie. Don't know why it's taken 14 years for a sequel to one of the best damn superhero movies ever made when we have had two shitty Cars sequels during that time, but that's life.

Technically 3 Cars sequels if you consider Planes as a sequel of sorts. Unless you instead mean that one of the sequels was good.

I suppose it's technically 4, since I think there was a sequel to Planes, too.

The first Cars gets a lot of hate, and compared to other Pixar films, it's pretty weak, but I've seen it enough times that I have a fondness for it. Cars 2 sucked, mostly because it decided to focus on Larry the Cable Guy. Admittedly, I haven't seen Cars 3, so maybe it's decent, but I doubt it.

Maybe it's a good thing that it's taken this long for Incredibles 2. Maybe that means they are making a quality movie instead of trying to rush out sequels to sell toys.

    Bump.

    So, It: Chapter Two.

Looks awesome so far. Hope it lives up to the first chapter and doesn't go the Pet Sematary route. I'm optimistic.
