I assume you were higher than level 1 by the time you got to the pot Heartless though? I'd actually be impressed if you managed to not level up any by then.

Nope I was still level one. The proud mode in 1.5 has the "no exp" ability. Just like KH2FM/2.5 or even BBS it turns off exp points. KH1 surprisingly has it set up that Sora never dies in one hit alone although a combo can be your undoing or rapid attacks.

That's still a pretty impressive distance for lvl 1.

I never really had the patience to stick to one place to level up. I doubt I ever got higher than lvl 10 there.

It's hard for me to see it that way since what stopped my advance was a mini boss in the form of a heartless with pots for a body. haha TuT

I think my patience for my level 1 attempts comes from my hatred of grinding. I tried Lv1 runs on KH2, 1 and BBS. For KH2 I only got as far as Beasts world I think. For KH1 it was Agrabah. I was able to beat Terra & Aqua on level one without much issue though. The command/melding system is rather broken so after a slow start to get what you need your pretty much set for the entire BBS story.
I never tried Ven's though. I knew what the glitchy Vanitas final battle would be. =__=

To be fair that darn pot monster kicked my but on a much higher level than 1. For some reason I had a difficult time with that one

It's the antenna I think. If your not careful they can mess up you for a very good range of leveling. On lvl 1 it's hard to find any openings to hit it.

I don't think I could ever pull off a run of any KH at level 1. I'm too conditioned towards grinding.

lol I think it takes people who hate to grind or people wanting bragging rights myself.

I have found a half way point though. I usually dont worry about grinding after a certain point. Like in Kh2fm, if you pick shield, you get once more and 2nd chance by level 50 so I stop caring after that. In Kh1 you never die in a single hit so getting once more is enough or just stopping at lvl 50/60.
In BBS you can honestly stop around 20 to 30.

If I recall correctly, the Final Mix versions of both KH1 and BBS have a modifier with the No Exp ability that alters an enemy's damage output. The enemies get nerfed a bit so you can't ever do a true Lvl. 1 run. The Final Mix of KH2, on the other hand, has a more proper version where the No Exp ability only does that and doesn't modify enemy damage.

KH1 has a type of modifier but I dont know if BBS does since you can still get abilities like once more & 2nd chance due to the melding system. o-0

I remember hearing about BBS having that modifier from either reading about it or somebody on a KH video talking about it. I don't remember.

If it did then I'm not sure if it was a good idea or pointless since BBS' abilities are still in affect regardless of zero exp xD
It probably did though since Kh1 had it.

I assume it is helpful when fighting any boss. Especially Vanitas' remnant, Mysterious Figure, No Heart, and Armor of the Master. Especially since KH1 is the only game that grants exp for defeating a boss.

Yes and no. KH1's mod stopped you from dying in one hit but a combo still did you in. BBS it was helpful but I never seemed to notice it. Thanks to melding I could get abilities and had once more and 2nd chance meaning I lived through any thing with 1hp.

I thought it also lowered the defense of your enemies.

*shrugs* If it did I didn't notice....wait...now that you mention it I think that was for bosses. Normal enemies didn't have much in the way of alteration.

Edit. After looking the most I see is that this mod only affects bosses.
