I've found it one of the greater ironies in my life that my recommendation got my friend very heavily in Sabriel and it's partner books, though I ended up not finishing it myself.

I'll add it to my to do list now.

  2. You may laugh at this but to be honest i love the Winnie the Pooh books. I think they are clever, deep and very enjoyable. I also just got into a series. The first two books are Seeker and Jango and the third has just come out but i don't know its name. They are by William Nicholson who wrote wind on fire trilogy (very good but the first one is a bit cramped) and good ol sabriel lirael and abhorsen.
Also (and i can't BELIEVE i forgot this) i love the series with Wolf Brother, Spirit Walker and Soul Eater in it. Can't remember the name of the series and the fourth book just came out but i can't remember the name of that either. I have bad memory :)

Lord of the Flies - Pretty mediocre book, but I really like it. It's suspenseful the first time through it which is why I like it so much. =)

Of Mice and Men - GEORGE SAID I COULD TEND THE RABBITS >:

^Awesome book. I love the Old South. Too bad the movie was rubbish. They left out 2/3 of Scarlet's kids. Wtf? Melly is like the best person ever. i can't imagine ever being that nice and patient. She should've gotten an award, instead of such a dishrag of a husband.

Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events are interesting, if a bit predictable, especially towards the end. Count Olaf is one cool villain though. Love him.

(I'm amazed that no one has mentioned these yet) The Redwall series by Brian Jaques, and Eragon & Eldest by Christopher Paolini.

I never read all of Redwall. In fact, Redwall was the only book of the series I ever read. It was pretty good though, from what I remember.

As for the Inheritence books (the Eargon series) most people tend to have issues with them. They're rather cliche, a bit lacking on the description, and predictable in parts. Plus, his parents owning the publishing company, most people figured the kid cheated, and that if he had to through a publisher like any normal writer, those books would never have gone anywhere.

Personally, I thought they were ok. Nothing fantastic. They entertained me for a little bit. But I also try not to read too much into a book. I just read it.
