Getting use to her legs pretty quickly, Talise followed Alice and her sister out of the room and to her sister's car. She gave the nurse a friendly smile as she passed her. She gave the vehicle an odd look as they approached it, not sure what it was or what it's purpose was except that it was big, shiney, and kind of scary looking. She glanced at Alice and her sister, who seemed to both be fine with this very freeky looking object and opened doors on either side of it. Talise hesitated as she approached it. "What is this thing?" she asked Alice, both curious and a bit anxious. She saw similar looking objects moving past them at a very high speed.

"You weren't kidding about that amnesia thing." Alice's sister laughed.

"This is a car. Basically we all get in, my sister here will drive it, and it takes us where we want to go and a very fast speed. You shouldn't be scared to be in it. My sister isn't that bad of a driver."

"Hey. At least I passed the test my first time. How many times did you fail?"

    Alice glared at her. "Twice."

"Really? As I recall you failed three times."

    "That one was a fluke."

"Of course it was. And the guy who gave you the test should've been fired."

"He should have! He was saying that I did things wrong when I was doing them right."

    "Sure thing."

    -----

They made it to Alice's house. "We're home." Alice smiled. She grabbed Talise's arm and started to drag her around. "Lemme show you around." She quickly gave Talise a tour of the house. It was a small two bedroom house. It was very clean and well kept. "And here is my room. Since we don't have a guest bedroom here, this is where you will be sleeping. Until we can get you some clothes for yourself, you can borrow my clothes."

Talise smiled gratefully and looked around. Though this seemed completely normal to both of them, and they seemed so sure that this was also normal for her and she had just forgotten, everything seemed so foreign and completely beyond Talise's imagination. Almost like she was dreaming but had completely forgotten what it felt like to be awake. But though that was all scary, some excitement welled up in her chest as well as another odd feeling that she couldn't put a finger on... almost like an urgency. Like there was supposed to be doing but she couldn't remember what it was. Realising she had been quiet for too long she smiled to Alice and to her older sister "Thank you. For everything." she said. She looked to the older sister "I'm sorry but I dont think I ever learned your name." she said politely.

"Her?" Alice asked. "You don't need to know---" Alice's sister pushed Alice's head down, stopping her from finishing.

"Call me Lucy." She laughed, her arm shaking as Alice struggled to get up.

Alice finally managed to get Lucy's arm off her head. "Owww..." She said, rubbing the back of her head. "That could do some serious neck damage."

"It's what you get for not introducing me."

"Whatever." Alice mumbled, looking away. After a moment, her eyes lit up. "Oh yeah! I almost forgot. I was supposed to tell a friend about what happened. Better that I introduce you to him." She grabbed Talise's hand and ran out the door. "We'll be back later!" She shouted to her sister.

"Just be back by sunset." Lucy replied, leaning against the front door frame.

As Alice was running out of the house, she took out her cellphone. She started typing a text message to Lance. "Got back home. Meet me at the beach in 5 minutes." Once she was done with the message they stopped running and started walking instead.

Talise was really confused at the sudden complete change in direction her day was taking but she kind of smiled. Something about Alice's attitude seemed familiar in a good way. She smiled enjoying being outside a lot more than being in the house, car, or hospital. There was something more familiar about it and open, not so clasterphobic. "So where are we going now then?" she asked Alice, casually stretching her arms above her head and then almsot tripping on the curb. A little embarassed, she didn't address the fact that she had once again reminded herself walking still sometimes was more of a difficulty for her than for Alice. It was still fun.

"The beach." Alice answered. "It's close by my house. And it is a little far for my friend. Nothing quite like inconveniencing him when I feel." Alice smiled at the last part.

    ------

Lance looked at his cellphone as it notified him of a text message. "The beach? Are you crazy? I was there earlier today. What does she want me there for? It's not like whatever it is she can't say through a text or with a regular phone call. Although, knowing Alice, she probably kidnapped that girl. Which in turn gives a depressing insight into hospitals these days, if they let themselves be fooled by somebody like her." Lance sighed. "Oh well. If I don't get there in time I won't hear the end of it. And the last thing I want is for her to continually bug me about something else."

Talise laughed "Im guessing you two are close then?" she asked, only assuming by Alice's attitude toward whoever it was they were meeting at the beach. In the distance she could hear a sound more familiar to her than anything she had seen all day, ocean waves. She wasn't sure how that was so obvious to her when everything else was so foggy but she didn't mind. At least she knew she wasn't COMPLETELY insane now.

"Yeah, we're close. I'm probably the only friend he has." Alice was joking, but she figured it would be funny to see how Talise acted based on what she was telling her about Lance. "He's a really good guy though. He's a bit different than most of the guys here."

    -----

Lance reached the beach. He stopped to catch his breath from the running. "Woo..." He panted before falling down on his back. "Record time. Alice is gonna have to buy me ice cream or something to make up for this." He was still trying to catch his breath. "I beat her here, didn't I?" He looked around. He saw two people in the distance. "I think I see her pink hair from here. Good. And if that's her, I'm guessing that the person next to her is the amnesia girl."

In the distance, Talise could see a boy on the beach. It was pretty much empty except for him. Maybe a few other people in the distance posing in front of a weird looking black object in a different person's hands. She could only assume they were a family. Other than that, there was no one. The day was getting late. "Is that your friend?" talise asked Alice. He seemed to recognise them at least. Talise suddenly felt a little shy! She had never been this close to a human boy before in her life. As she and Alice got closer to Lance, she looked down at the sand.

"Yep, that's him." Alice answered Talise. She and Talise walked up to Lance as he was lying on the sand. She kicked him in the gut. "Get up you lazy bum. I got somebody here for you to meet."

"Lazy bum? You are aware that I practically sprinted the whole way here, right?"

    "And?"

"And... Nevermind. You owe me ice cream for rushing over here so fast. Now help me up." Lance held out his hand so Alice could pull him up. Once she grabbed his hand and began pulling, Lance pulled her down, causing her to fall onto the sand. "And that is for calling me a lazy bum." Lance quickly jumped up and turned to Talise. "Heya. I'm Lance." He smiled.

"Hey! Don't pull me down onto the sand like that. You could've hurt me." Alice spoke as she slapped Lance's leg.

"Oh... hi." Talise answered, breifly looking away from the white sand on the ground to give him a friendly but still increadibly shy smile. Its not like she was always like this, in fact Talise was quite the flirt back home and had many admirers including her unwanted husband to be, whom she did not like at all. But she had no way of remembering all that, at the time being. All she knew was this boy was very good looking but just as unfamiliar to her as everything else on this strange new world. "Im.. um...." she forgot she didnt remember her own name. She looked to Alice for help remembering the name they decided to call her until she got her memory back.

"Wow, she's a cute one. But she doesn't even remember her name?" Lance asked Alice.

"Nope. She seems to have completely forgotten everything that isn't forced, like breathing. So I have decided that until she can remember her name she shall be called LeAnn." Alice spoke triumphantly as she stood up.

    "Oh... That's... Unfortunate."

"Hey, you don't like the name?"

"No, it's not that. It's a nice name. But I just feel that I would rather know her real name. If I start calling her by a name that isn't her own, then by the time she remembers I will already be used to calling her by the fake name. That's all."

Alice sighed and turned to Talise. "Isn't he a weirdo? Seriously, he's the weirdest person I know."

Feeling a little bit weird listening to them talk about her, Talise pretended not to hear instead watching a little crab waddle its way across the shore. Something about the ocean calmed her a little but it brought on a different feeling too. Some feeling in her heart that surprised her. It was almost scary, like there was something very important she should be remembering but she couldnt. When she heard Alice speak directly to her, she turned her attention back to the two friends though she had been listening the whole time. She looked at Lance after Alice asked her the question and she laughed, like that kind of laugh any other human teenage girl does when she meets her soul mate of the month. "Well I dont know who I know right now but he surely is different compared to most of the people I know right now!.. in a good way. I am sorry I cant remember my name." she said, directly addressing Lance "I'm sure I will eventually the doctor said the memories would all come back in time." she said reassuringly "Until then, LeAnn is my name. Who knows, maybe I'll never remember my real name and so you'll never have to learn a new one." she smiled.

    >Soul mate of the month? Really?<

"You don't need to apologize for your lack of memory. I doubt your injury that caused the memory loss is your fault."

"And don't say something like you never remembering your name." Lance thought to himself. "You'll be missing a part of you. Part of your identity. That isn't good."

"Anyways, it's been nice meeting you. I'm assuming that you'll be staying with Alice until you regain your memory? Just a piece of advice, don't let her trick you into doing anything. If she offers up some outfit for you to wear, just ignore it and walk away. And with that, I suppose I should say goodbye for now, since it's getting late and everything."

"Hey, don't run off after talking poorly about me like that. And you don't even have a curfew. You can stay out as late as you want."

"Oh right... Before I go I'm gonna collect on that ice cream debt you owe."

"Fine by me. It just means you're stuck around with us longer than you want to be."

"I don't mind being stuck with her." Lance motioned towards Talise. "It's you I mind being stuck with. I can only put up with you for so long each day."

Alice laughed. "As I recall, you were able to put up with me a lot more than you claim."

LeAnn/Talise looked confused. Those two argued a lot but it didn't really seem like arguing. She wasn't sure what this ice cream they kept talking about was either but she decided to at least pretend to be normal "You two act like Alice and her big sister do." she giggled "Does everyone argue a lot like this?"

"Only the best of friends." Alice smiled, playfully putting Lance in a headlock.

"I wouldn't necessarily say the best of friends. Usually the people who argue a lot tend to hate each other. There are some situations where the best of friends argue a lot, but not all best friends argue a lot." Lance explained.

"Yeah yeah, whatever." Alice spoke. "Hurry up or you won't get that ice cream."

The group walked over to the only place that was still open that sold ice cream.

"Well LeAnn, I guess this would be like your first time experiencing ice cream. Well, order any flavor you want. My treat." Alice spoke.

"I wouldn't sound so joyful Alice. You're gonna get me a triple scoop cookie dough with gummi worms and stuff."

"If you make me broke so help me I will stab you."

    >As for the Soul mate of The Month thing Call me a cynic but thats how I see a lot of preteens love stories these days at least where I grew up. xD Yes I was making fun.<

LeAnn smiled but there were so many choices she gave up, "I dont know what do you suggest?" she asked the other two. She felt a little embarassed but at the same time, comfortable around the two arguing friends.

Talise's sister watched the group at a safe distance from the water. "Talise why did you become such a dummy once you got person feet?..." she muttered to herself "What did the witch do to you..."

"Think she's got a favorite flavor?" Alice asked Lance.

"If she does, I doubt she remembers." Lance answered. He grabbed his ice cream from the person behind the counter.. He then spoke to Talise. "Well, usually a person's first ice cream flavor is vanilla. If you want, you can have a taste of mine. If you like it, then we'll get you one of those." He held out his ice cream, the spoon already pointing towards Talise.

"you sonovabitch." Alice jokingly thought as she glared at Lance. "You may be entirely unaware of what you're doing, but dammit that's one of those things that causes girls to like you."

"Hmm? What are you glaring at?" Lance asked Alice.

    "Nothing. Nothing at all."

Talise hesitated but then she did as he suggested. Ice cream was weird to her at first, cold and solid but at the same time the opposite. It was deffinately something new to her, you would think even if she couldnt remember it, she would have had some slight recognition when trying it again if she ever had... but there was nothing. Either way, she liked it "Its good." she nodded "Ok but just a little." she nodded to Alice. Then she heard the two friends and she laughed some too "Glaring? What are you thinking about?" she asked Alice suspiciously.

"What? Nothing at all?" Alice spoke. She quickly stopped glaring and quickly smiled.

"That's right. Alice doesn't think much. She's kind of a spur of the moment kinda girl."

"Where's the fun in worrying with thoughts? Life is better without those worries."

"Yeah, sure thing." Lance spoke, not believing her at all. He grabbed Talise's and Alice's ice cream. "Anyways, here you girls go." He handed the two their ice cream before the group left the ice cream parlor. "So, is there anything else you two would like to do, regardless of the time? Or shall I just leave you two to your own devices and go back home?"

Alice sighed. "I'm fine either way. The decision would be up to LeAnn here."
