Hogwarts Glory Days

"Mr. Vance, although I'm not ratting you out tonight, if I catch you out again, I'm going to have to take actions though." Chloe said.

"Now, Miss. Vance, with you close to the tower, I'm going to assume you can find your way back to your bed." Chloe said as April looked at her and nodded looking back at Apollo one last time before running back up to the Ravenclaw Tower space.

"As for you," Chloe looked back at Apollo. "I'm going to escort you back to Hufflepuff basement."

 

"Well, it's the first night all the prefects out are on high alert. I know where they're all stationed. Besides, my rounds include the Hufflepuff Basement entrance." Chloe said walking along down the hall.

"Besides, I wanted to talk to you." Chloe had her hands behind her back as she walked, her hair bouncing some.

"Your sister, she seems like a sweet girl, really looks up to you."

 

"I can't say I fully understand, Mr. Vance. I'm an only child. I often wish I could be an older sister or a younger sister." Chloe explained as they walked along.

"I can't say she will probably still try to be close to her big brother, but if it's one thing I understand, at Hogwarts she will find her own path, and it's up to us- all of us here at Hogwarts- to help her find it. I'm sure she'll be a successful witch." They descended down the flight of stairs.

"Further, I wanted to say, I will do everything in my power to look after her within Ravenclaw, and to help guide her towards finding her own way."

 

"Well how about you tell me a bit about yourself?" Chloe asked as they walked along.

She glanced at him. He was an interesting fellow, well built, he had the ability to be brilliant, but he was funny. Fantastic at quidditch, and although she was top of their class in classes, he was by far the top dueler.

But who was he, and why now were their paths crossing?

Chloe looked at him and smiled and shrugged.

"Well, I'm a sixth year student from Ravenclaw, I'm a prefect and I'm on the Quidditch team as a chaser. My father is part of the pure blood York family, my mother is muggle born, grew up on a farm in southern England. I've got a pet owl named, Hoot that I've had since I was a little girl. Ummm..." Chloe stopped walking for a moment to pause and think.

"Well, I didn't realize how hard a question that could be." She said.

"I guess we can both start with what's your favorite class?"

 

Chloe stopped herself from laughing some at his re-try answer. She smiled at him.

"Defense Against the Dark Arts, I've done more outside research on it, but I don't particularly care for the class, granted it doesn't help that a professor never teaches more than one year. I'm more of a Transfiguration girl with Professor McGonagall." She replied to him before stopping at the kitchen area and at the barrels.

"Well here we are, entrance to the Hufflepuff basement." Chloe spoke turning and looking at Apollo.

"Well, it was a pleasure getting to meet you, Apollo, I'm sure I'll be seeing you around. Oh and try not to sneak out after curfew." Chloe said to him.

 

Chloe smiled and watched him enter in before turning around and seeing a Hufflepuff prefect.

"We're you with somebody from my house?"

"Ford, I don't know what you're talking about. You done doing your rounds?" Chloe asked, "I better let you go then, have a good night." She said as she walked off the Hufflepuff prefect watching her leave confused.




The next day...

"It was fantastic, if I don't marry that man, I don't know who it'll be." A Slytherin girl dramatically described her summer. Chloe couldn't help but laugh out loud.

"What do you find so funny, York?" The slytherin girl spoke out.

"Nothing, it's adorable. You finding the man of your dream, when you only started dating a week before the term ended last year." Chloe said, "I'm glad you had a good summer though." She said as she went back to reading her book.

"Well, what did you do over the summer?"

"Well, I read the newest addition to 'Transfigering the Mind.'" Chloe said as they all gave her a weird look before continuing back to their conversation. Of course she also travelled to Brazil with her parents, nearly mastered her own animagus form, but there were still too many kinks to work out, particularly what animal her soul was trying to become.

She looked as she saw a cat stride in.

"Oh professor!" Quickly Chloe stood up as she headed to the front as McGonagall turned back into her human form.

"Miss. York, hello." McGonagall greeted one of her by far favorite students to date.

"I was wondering if not right now, but if I could set up with a time to meet with you to try and master an animagus form?" Chloe asked.

"I will, but speak to me after class." Chloe nodded eagerly smiling before turning back around to go back to her seat. The class shockingly to Chloe, was not as well filled, considering the nature of the class though, Transfiguration, it was usually a subject people would love to learn more or would sink away from.

 

Chloe turned around when she heard the loud fall of the chair shaking her head upon see Apollo run in and take a seat with another Hufflepuff.

The class lasted for an hour. The minute McGonagall dismissed everybody people rushed to head out the door except for her.

"Oh! Miss. York, I almost had forgotten, you wanted to talk to me about animagus."

"Yes, professor. I seem to be getting there, I've managed to pull off fur, paws, even at one point the tail, but I can't seem to get the whole form. Further, I've been experiencing a lot of pain when I try to push myself too much." Chloe began to explain her difficulties with her studies.

"Well, Miss. York, I cannot say I fully support you trying to work on your animagus form at home over the summer as you are still under 18 and working on an animagus off Hogwarts site unfortunately does not follow under the rules. But even further, the animagus is very difficult to accomplish, and the pain you are feeling is quite normal. I'm going to have to ask you practice though here accompanied by a fellow student in case something were to happen, they could help you. There have been rare cases of animagus back firing either leaving permanent physical traits in a human form such as tails or ears, to upon finally getting the full animagus form, not being able to become human again." Professor McGonagall warned.

"Yes, but professor, there's something else. What do you think my animagus is? I can't seem to figure mine out and I feel like that's part of the problem. Based off of what I've discovered I can't figure out if I'm a an otter, cat, dog, or fox."

"Chloe, I'm sure in time you'll be able to figure it out. If you do need help, you know where to find me of course. You do plan to register, correct?"

"Of course, Professor! I have to get my full form mastered and figure out a trademark as well. Thank you again, professor." Chloe said stepping away and headed towards the door.

 

Chloe stepped out of the classroom, books in hands before looking down the hall seeing Apollo there walking off.

She turned going on down the other direction. Before noticing a familiar face, nose tucked into a book.

"Oh, hello there, April." April looked up shocked seeing the older girl.

"Ch-Chloe!"

"How was class?" April sat there shock before standing up.

"It's was oddly enough great, I really actually enjoyed it."

"And what class was that?" Chloe asked as April tucked away a potions book into her bad.

"Potions with Professor Snape."

"Snape?" The two girls began to walk down the hall.

"I know he doesn't have the best rep. but he's straight to the point, he's very good, too!"

"Well, I'm glad you're having a good day. I'm on my way to the Great Hall for lunch, would you like to tag along?" Chloe asked the younger girl.

April nodded as the two walked into the Great Hall and took a seat.

 

April jokingly pushed her brother when he tried to tickle her.

"I'm not a little kid, Apollo." April said laughing.

"Hey, Apollo." Chloe greeted him.

So so tell me how are your classes going? you ok? enjoying it? got any questions?"

April listened carefully a little overwhelmed suddenly until, Chloe cut in.

"April was just telling me how she had her potion class and it's one of her favorites so far. Though wait till you get to have transfiguration with McGonagall. That's what your brother and I had this morning." Chloe said.

"Transfiguration, that's a very interesting subject, but I don't get to take it till next term."
