Hogwarts Glory Days

Chloe travelled through the secret passage way she lifted up on the stone slab as she climbed out from under the slab but being careful to place it in a way in which she could still access it to exit. She climbed up the stairs peaking around the opening of the door seeing Apollo keeping Ambrosius Flume busy. She quickly snuck by heading for the stairs leading to their upstairs flat.

She dug out her wand as she approached the lock door. She pointed the wand at the door as it and the lock lit up and the door unlocked allowing her access in. She walked in. The flat was relatively small with a living room and kitchen. Hanging on the walls were pictures of the family.

Chloe paused at a family portrait, there were younger twin girls, probably no older than four and a boy probably about 6 or 7. Chloe looked around her eyes falling on a closed door. She walked over laying her ear on the door.

She heard a human snarl on the other side causing her to jump back and almost knock over a vase of flowers but fortunately caught it just in time to stop a loud crash.



"What was that?" Flume was with Apollo as he looked upstairs hearing a loud thump of sort before moving towards the stairwell to go upstairs.



Chloe stood back up. She looked towards the door of the flat. She pointed her wand at the door locking it again before unlocking the door next to her. She jumped in locking the door behind her.

Chloe could of maybe saved herself from getting in trouble but what dangers did she just put herself in now. She looked up to see Mrs. Flume sitting on a chair wrapped in ropes staring at her.

"Silencio!" Chloe silently exclaimed to keep Mrs. Flume from talking as she listened to the door, Mr. Flume entering the flat.

"Hello? Marie?" Chloe heard Mr. Flume's voice come through.

She waited for Apollo to pull Mr. Flume back down into the store before she proceeded on.

 

Chloe relaxed flicking her wand back at Mrs. Flume's she lifted the charm off of her to allow her to talk.

"Who are you?" Chloe looked at Mrs. Flume as she growled at her.

"I'm a student from Hogwarts, I'm trying to figure out why students have been disappearing, I heard your kids were taken by the same people that most likely took the students also there's a chance that you yourself witness the kidnapper." Chloe said.

"I know where they are, they are going to be joining our great leader. He will create them and just like me, they will join him in his own pack."

"Just like you? Pack? Mrs. Flume, what are you talking about?" Chloe asked her, she had a sneaky feeling that she knew where this was heading.

"On the full moon of the last day of May, he shall come. We were tasked to gather children from Hogwarts and Hogsmeade. Gather them, and he shall bless them with his own blood and using the memory and false memory charm, they shall join his pack and he will train them to become part of his pack."

"Who's is he?"

"Fenrir Greyback, the most powerful werewolf in the world." Chloe's eyes widened. She stood up and headed towards the door.

"You are strong and powerful. Your destiny lies with a wolf, even your patronus is a wolf. Perhaps you're supposed to be his mate." Chloe stopped and looked back at her. "You're going to become a wolf, and not just a wolf, but a werewolf's mate." Chloe's heart raced as she stared at her.

"How do you know that?" Chloe asked her voice a little shaken.

"I'm the newest seer of my pack. I look forward to seeing you again, Chloe York." Chloe quickly opened the door and left the room locking it behind her. She leaned up against the door her heart pounding.


Chloe moved to the stairwell after locking the door again to the flat. She looked down below the railing seeing Apollo and Flume talking. She looked around the shop pulling out her wand she looked at the shelf of chocolate frogs.

"Dissendium." Chloe cast the spell as suddenly all of the chocolate frog cases opened up and chocolate frogs bounced everywhere. Chloe took that opportunity to get back to the basement and to the secret passage back to Hogwarts.

 

Chloe walked along the passage deep in thought thinking about what Mrs. Flume said. It bothered her a great deal. She shook her head.

"She's crazy, that's all..." Chloe thought to herself as she walked through the darken passage. When suddenly she saw a shadow run past her in the corner of her eye. She quickly turned to look holding her wand out in front of her as the tip glowed for her to see.

She saw the shadow again to her left turning sharply to look again. She swallowed hard.

'Chloe York.' Chloe quickly turned hearing a voice inside her head she turned to her right to see a wolf sitting there.

"Stay back!" She held her wand out in front of her.

'Please relax, I was sent in part by Albus Dumbledore. I'm glad to know though that you also are an animagus because otherwise it would be hard to relay this message.' Chloe blinked looking at the wolf.

'My name is Boris Conan, I am the son of two werewolves, both since long passed. I am the pack leader of my brother and sisters and their immediate families. Professor Dumbledore approached us immediately after the disappearance of one of your students. We were asked to investigate and search for a potential werewolf pack. We continue to search while trying to do our best with patrolling and looking after the school. We have not found the pack yet. Dumbledore informed me about trying to keep it on the down low among the students and teachers of Hogwarts, however, he informed me of you being one of the students who knows. He asked that when our paths would meet as they have now, that any information you have to please inform him of and to also seize your own investigating. This is for your own safety.'

"How do I know you're good?"

'If I were bad, I would of tried to change you into a werewolf or get you to join my pack. There's something about you, Chloe York, that will be dangerous if you come face to face with that other pack. There's no doubt they would try to take you too.'

"What defines who becomes a... werewolf?" The wolf looked at Chloe cautiously before sighing.

'A werewolf has the tendency to attack and kill humans. However, those with strong magic and a good scent of attraction, werewolves instead will try to change that human into one of their kind in order to join their pack. This can be overcome of course by the use of wolfsbane potion, but there are some werewolves, some who even under the influence of wolfsbane potion, still see tasks in creating a pack and picking those who fall under criteria similar to yourself, part of the pack.'

"Have those students have that?"

'It is hard to say, Chloe York, I have never truly met those taken. But I do know you do. Now please seize your investigating, and any information you may have to help us, please give the information to Professor Dumbledore.' Chloe watched as the wolf began to leave.

"Wait! The woman, the Marie Flume, the wife of the sweet shop owner, she's a werewolf, she was made into one. She's also under a charm, the memory and false memory charms, she believes she's part of their pack." Chloe explained she had more information but she didn't want to give it all away, especially since if she was easily able to obtain it, Dumbledore could probably also easily obtain it the same way.

'Thank you.' The wolf Boris Conan said before running off leaving Chloe standing there. She nodded before continuing back.


She got back to the entrance, running almost an hour late compared to when she and Apollo separately left the sweet shop. But for how much information she was able to obtain in addition, it explained a lot.

"Apollo!" She exclaimed emerging from the passageway looking around before spotting him.

 

Chloe felt the hug and hugged him back.

"I got a lot... too much for comfort though..." She sat down on the stone bench sitting down and signaling for him to sit.


"Flume's wife, she's under advance charms, a memory charm that I don't think she realizes her old life, and the false memory charm. She's become a werewolf with the mindset that she's the pack's seer. They're gathering children because I guess the younger you become a... a werewolf, the stronger you are when you're older. The target then would be pretty much any and all Hogwarts students. Further none of them have been changed yet. Apparently on the full moon May 31st, Fenrir Greyback is coming to take the students and he will change them and use the charms on them so he can start his own pack, the world's most powerful pack of werewolves ever." Chloe explained.

"Further, I ran into a wolf, a good wolf working for Dumbledore, in the tunnels. He explained to me something else..." Chloe began to say as she played with the hem on her skirt.

"This wolf explained that werewolf have a strong first instinct to kill humans. However, there are some humans who apparently have a certain smell to them, a smell of strong magic and a strong body or something. He said that if a werewolf meets those kind of human, instead of first instinct to kill, it becomes an instinct instead to change them into a werewolf in an attempt to get them to join their pack." She sighed pausing.

"He said I have that scent that I would need to be super careful, but there's something else... I've heard before that Mrs. Flumes is good at divination, apparently when she was changed she became the seer of the pack. She told me that I was going to become one, and not just become one, that I would become the mate of a werewolf..." Chloe said looking at him, " She said that in the same context of talking about Greyback."

 

Chloe looked at him before smiling. She leaned forward and hugged him tight not wanting to let go.

"Thanks, Apollo, it means a lot." She whispered in his ear.

A month went by. The situation was starting to relax some until another student, this time a Hufflepuff, a third year, was also taken, as well as an infant from Hogsmeade. The ministry of magic went to step in as well, but Dumbledore didn't stagger in revealing what was going on exactly. Chloe knew why, her father revealed before that too many in the ministry of magic were jealous of Dumbledore and were constantly looking for ways to get him removed as headmaster of Hogwarts.

Winter vacation and Christmas came and everybody was in brighter spirits. Some thankful to get to go home.


April walked out of the Ravenclaw common room. A backpack slung over her shoulder along with her stuff packed for winter break. She wondered down the hall and stopped seeing Apollo saying goodbye to some quidditch friends. She set her trunk down walking up to him.

"Apollo!" She exclaimed walking up to him and smiling up at him.

"You sure you're not coming home?" April asked him. She was slightly upset, but she understood why, and she was glad it wasn't just to skip out on home. She watched and witnessed his relationship with Chloe grow. It was romantic and sweet. The two of them together were just a perfect match, too.

 

April pulled away from her brother quickly working to fix her hair. She looked at him and nodded.

"I will but you know you'll be missing the trip to China then." April said, "and I'll be alright I got everything I need." She said referring to going down to the station. She stepped back and started to head there before stopping.

"Good luck with your 'practicing' hopefully you won't be too distracted by Chloe." She said before heading off grinning to herself about her latest tease of his relationship.


Meanwhile, Chloe walked into prefect bathroom. The room was so warm thanks to the steam from the swimming pool hot tub within. She set her stuff down before proceeding to change out of her clothes wearing a swimsuit she climbed into the tub resting her head back she closed her eyes.

As a prefect she was required to stay over break, something she honestly didn't mind. She liked Hogwarts over winter break , of course it also was eerie with only maybe 75 students left in the whole school and only a few professor's (typically the professor's who have permanent residence at the school.

Of course she was still stressed about threatening werewolf problem, she already decided on using this break as a chance to relax. Perhaps practice her animagus, maybe do some reading, and ultimately spend time with Apollo.

 

While Apollo stood tucked away on his balcony that's when Professor McGonagall and Professor Figee (Professor for Defense Against the Dark Arts for that year) approached and were talking.

"Most of the students left are all prefects and older students, they'll surely be targeted." Figee said concerned.

"I'm concerned about that too, but unfortunately it's these students were going to need to prepare to fight if what Dumbledore fears occurs." McGonagall spoke.

"Of course, did the wolves give a list of students who are suspected targets?" Figee asked. McGonagall shifted pulling out a list from her pocket giving it to Figee.

"There's close to 200 names on that list and I doubt though that all of those students will be taken, Dumbledore went and checked off the one' she suspects will be taken the most. She's the one that worries me the most." McGonagall said pointing on the paper.

"York?" Figee asked.

"She's my top transfiguration student and is working on an animagus form, often going and practicing near Hagrid's hut. The wolves also reported that she's been trying to get involved in stopping them. But Chloe York is the type that will continue to get involved in anyway she can, and with prefect status she has reigns of the school. Even if I were to tell her to stop traveling to the woods, she still has to monitor the campus grounds as a prefect." McGonagall explained.

"She's dating my top dueling student, I'll see if there's a way in which I can try and enlist his help to protect her." Figee stated, "But Minerva, I can't help but notice his name and his sister's name is on this list. His name's not checked but her name is."

"Dumbledore believes Apollo may be a possible target but worries more with these other students as they're easier targets compared to Apollo with his Defense Against Dark Arts skills, if he were to be attacked he could easily fight them off. His sister, April though, she has apparently the core. Snape has been told as she's often spending time in the potions room near his office. He cares about her as a student despite not being a Ravenclaw and is doing everything he can to keep her safe including offering extra potion lessons just to keep her on Hogwarts grounds at all times. The only time she wouldn't be would be between classes, in her classes, and at night the Ravenclaw Tower, but I believe thanks to Chloe dating Apollo, she'll be watching over April." McGonagall explained. Figee nodded.

"Alright I'll prepare an open duel club versus the invites, I'll make sure these students checked are accepted in so that way I can teach then how to defend themselves and without raising an alert." Figee spoke.

"Sounds like a good idea, thank you Professor." McGonagall said when the two professors then headed there separate ways, unaware of Apollo standing hidden away within ear shot.

 

Chloe sat in the water for awhile allowing herself to relax before drifting off only to be viciously awaken by the image of a massive werewolf coming towards her. She looked around after waking up before relaxing again and getting out of the pool to change back in normal clothes.

She's been doing a lot of studying on the werewolves, if individual reading or what, but the more and more she read and learn the more she learned how dangerous they truly were and the more afraid she became.

She stepped out into courtyard walking towards the forest to try and clear her head and practice transfiguration and her animagus form. She started to head out before realizing Apollo.

She smiled walking over from behind laying her hand on his shoulder to make him realize she was there before wrapping her arms around him to give him a hug from behind,

"Hey."

 

Chloe looked at him and shrugged.

"I have nothing planned at the moment. Unless you have something planned, I was about to take this opportunity with no other students around and no classes to work on my animagus form." Chloe explained.

"How about you? Any special plans, besides I'm sure as always quidditch and dueling?" She asked him as she sat down next to him but turned her body towards him looking at him.

Something seemed up about him, but oddly she couldn't place it.

 

Chloe looked at him confused, blinking a few times as he seemed to be a little nervous about something.

"I really hate all the sugar and candy you eat, it's not healthy, and I'm concerned about you, but alright then, bring me back banana bread though." She said letting him go and watching him leave for a bit before heading out to her training spot.

Chloe made her way down to her spot. She first stopped at Hagrid's, only to receive no response. She stepped back shaking her head. Normally she always let Hagrid know when she was around, especially when practicing in case something were to happen.

Nothing ever did though. She continued to her spot standing there. A light layer of early winter snow and pre-christmas snow, was on the ground.

She kneeled down onto the ground, she sat on her knees laying her hands on her thighs closing her eyes. She sat there in silence for a while deep in concentration.

The thing about animagus forms, it involves connecting with the inner animal guide or best that everybody has. That's why animagus is a possibility to be learned by any witch or wizard, taking that form of the inner animal and making it physical was something else, and then sending it back was also something else.

Chloe struggled completely connecting to hers as it had no set form to her yet. But everyday with practice it became easier.

Chloe breathed in then exhaled slowly as she clenched her hands into fists. Mentally she reached out seeing the general canine shape in her head.

She screamed out in pain as she felt herself grasp it and began to take physical form.

'Chloe, run!' Chloe opened her eyes halfway through her chance as she saw a wolf leap over her, she turned around to see what to see a werewolf, one of the bad pack. She jumped up quickly in shock.

She went to run but then the world spun as she fell to the ground. She looked and quickly understood why. She closed her eyes trying to will herself to let go only, she wasn't able to. When suddenly she opened her eyes hearing a whine. She watched as the wolf that came and saved her life got flung at, at a tree.

The werewolf in front of her was massive as it growled at her, 'You're mine.' it spoke, Chloe able to hear the words clearly in her mind. Her eyes widened in shock as she tried to keep focus on the world.

Her head though pounding and beginning to slip from consciousness.

She closed her eyes ready for the end.
