Kingdom Hearts Ultima (remake)

Tom looked around at the area surrounding him. It was a tall platform in the middle of nowhere. "This dream again." He muttered to himself. "Wait a sec... I'm aware I'm dreaming. So that would make this a lucid dream, right? I should be able to do anything I want. In that case, I want to fly." Tom jumped up, only to land back on the ground. He tried again. "What kind of messed up dream is this where I know I'm dreaming and can't do anything cool?" He walked over to the edge of the platform and sat down, staring into the abyss. "Well, might as well stay here until I wake up. Nothing else to do around here."

 

Halla watched as he dug through his pockets to retrieve a pocket watch, it looked to be truly valuable and well-kept. "Sure, the sun is setting so it'd take a little over a 20 minutes to paddle back over to the main island."

She and Johnny began walking to the dock when Halla stopped in realization. "Oh! What about Destiny's brother, Thomas..? I don't think he knows where she is.." She paused to consider her words. "Then again, going to the secret cave seems like something she would do, but, by now wouldn't you think he'd of suggest going home? It's just a thought..."

 

"Oh, I guess you don't know. A lot of us planned this out before coming here, we're staying here tonight. Sort of like camping or a sleepover really. Destiny was supposed to tell you, but I guess it slipped her mind." Johnny laughed as he put the watch away. "If you want we could go back and get some stuff for you and come back."

 

Halla grinned happily, she really liked the sound of the idea of simply spending the night with her friends under the stars. "Yes, I'd like that a lot." She paused for a moment, a brief frown appeared before disappearing. "Uhm.. I'll have to ask my father but i think I can persuade him to say 'yes'. It's not a definite answer though, unfortunately."

With that as answer, the two proceeded to the docks as before, this time Halla was truly ecstatic about the night to come. "Let's hope it all goes well!" Halla said in her head.

 

"Huh?" Tom asked, turning his head to see who it was. "Oh, Destiny. Considering that you're here, I'm assuming this is no longer a dream." He looked at the new platform design. "I figured you were having strange dreams. Never would've thought they were the same as mine. Oh well. Not much for us to do except wake up. Any idea as to how we actually do that? Or any ideas as to where we are for that matter?" He examined the design below them in more detail. "I'm guessing this just shows how connected we are. Figures. Wanna bet we're the only ones who have dreams like this?"

 

Johnny smiled as he went with Halla. It didn't take long before she convinced her father and they came back. Johnny helpped her with her stuff before he grabbed his own stuff. Tim and Jim each had their own sleeping bags and were playing their games as Johnny set his down next to the campfire and layed back, looking up at the sky as the sun fell past the horizon.


"What do you want Xehanort?" A voice called out. A dark corridor opened up and from it walked a man that anybody would've sworn was holy; at least until they saw the large sword in his right hand that was covered in black smoke. As he walked up hee glanced at the image Xehanort was holding up, staring at it with his blood red eyes. "Oh right, you were sent there. I take it things are ready?"

 

"So it begins,huh?Was wondering how long it would take before I start actually earning my pay."A man's voice said.Walking out from the shadows,the man,Seth,nodded at the two others in the room before looking at the image of the two children."Woah,Deja Vu.I wonder why?Oh well,it doesnt matter now."He said,his right hand cupping his chin as he thought of this feeling,then shrugging his arms at the end.

"Im guessing these are our primary targets boss man?"Seth said to Xehanort.He looked at the man with his arms crossed,a bored expression on his face.

 

"In front of you two lays three weapons. A mighty sword. Within it lies a terrible power, able to cut through any opponent. A great shield. Within it lies courageous protection, an ultimate defense to defend those close to your heart. A mystic staff. Within it lies mysterious magic, wisdom to guide those to the light. Think of your choice carefully. You may pick one weapon each." A voice echoed out to them both.

Tom looked at each weapon. "Well... I've never been that good when it comes to defending anything. And I'm too lazy to use power like that sword." He walked over to the staff. "I suppose wisdom is my strong point. I pick this one." He grabbed the staff. Another one appeared in its place, ready for Destiny if she chose it. "Which one are you taking?"

 

Halla sat by the campfire admiring one of life's greatest inventions. Watching the bright flames dancing around was simply a feat all its own. Then it occurred to her suddenly; her head perked up instantly and she scanned the beach looking for Destiny.

"Where's Destiny? Why isn't she here yet?" Halla was truly worried. She was sure Destiny would be out of the cave exploring the reaches of the secondary island with another of her friends as a companion - being alone in a cave to think did not seem like her at all.

 

"I'm not sure which hurt more. My body from landing or my ears from your scream." Tom said sarcastically. He looked around. The area they were in was only a little different from the platform they were on before. "Wonderful. We're still stuck here. What are we gonna have to do? Fight monsters? Open some treasure chest? Or better yet, open a door where we appear back on the islands and our friends ask us what we find most important? And our answers somehow influencing our growth."

 

Tom looked at the key. "How oddly convenient. My wonderful staff changed into a key. Am I supposed to open up some massive door with this? Well Destiny, if I had to guess I'd say we have to fight these things. Just consider it a game or something. You like games, right?" Tom moved to attack the enemies that appeared. "They look rather weak. I don't think they'll be too much of a challenge. Just don't start getting weak on me."

 

Without a word, Halla picked herself up from her seat, ensuring she picked up her pocket knife - a handy little invention of hers that did an awful job as a knife, but a fantastic job at everything else - and left the campsite.she headed toward the secret cave. She supposed Destiny had to have been there still as no one she inquired about had mentioned her leaving that spot.

Upon entering the cave, she had noticed immediately the mysterious door that looked sealed from both ends; however at this moment the door had large keyhole embedded in the door - whoever placed the keyhole in door clearly held no ideas of conspicuousness, That was when Halla's hand lurched forward suddenly throwing her lithe body with it onto the ground. Even with her on the ground, her hand still rose as if trying to reach the door.

"Wh-what's going on?!" Halla was scared; she had never lost control of her body, it just wasn't something normal.

Just as suddenly her hand had developed its own will, Halla's hand fell limp after a few moments of struggling to reach the door in vain. Hesitantly, Halla picked herself off the ground - her body still shook and she could feel tears prickling her eyes from the sudden helpless. It was then, as she was wiping the tears away, that she noticed that out of the corner of her eye she could see Destiny, unconscious.

Halla was quickly over to Destiny's side, willing the girl to awaken with light shakes. It was when she lifted the back of her head to provide a better oxygen intake that she felt the back of her hair stick and moist - Examining it closer she realized it to be blood.

"Destiny! What happened to you?" Halla cried, her tears threatening to come forth again.

 

Halla felt so confused. She had so many questions to ask - how'd this happen? who caused it? Why?

Why..?

Halla didn't know what to do; she didn't know if she should have been getting herself into situations like this. But.. but that was not up for debate, was it? Destiny was her friend - the same person who gave her that cheery smile over a month ago and agreed to be her friend. She needed to help her, but she need help too.

"Oh my goodness!" Jessica exclaimed and hurried over. "Halla, do you know what happened?" Jessica quickly asked looking over Destiny.

Halla just stared at Jessica as she looked over Destiny. That's right, Destiny remembered at that moment, she cares for her just as much as I do , probably even more.

"I'm not sure, I wanted to check on her.." Halla paused for a moment, her eyes drifting over to the door to see the keyhole still there - it was. "We need to get help.. Do you think it would be safe to take her back to the main island?"
