  1. Huh, you are really right. In the story itself they don't really seem to show each other emotion.

well, they DO show emotion, larxene has a mischeveous (however it's spelled) personality, LAUGHS, & she says "I think it's only fair to warn you that I'm in an EXTREMELY foul mood" mood=emotion? right?

  3. Then Marluxia did the whole "sexy voice thing" nd she did calm down.

...that whole conversation is funny. But anyway, I think that the emotion they show is fake; it is only for show, perhaps testing to see if they can still pull it off. Or so that they don't forget, if they do ever happen to regain their ability to feel. I am researching about hearts, and have found some really interesting things about them. One idea is that the heart is a combination of the soul (composed of mind/intellect, free will, and emotions) and of the conscience (the foremost part of the spirit). If this is true, it might be possible that the feelings could be summoned back, if they could only figure out how. Maybe this is one of the reasons why the Organization strives so greatly to solve the mystery of the heart. They must understand that the heart must be connected to memories and such.

I thought of something else, too: what if they just don't know how else to act or live? I mean, we've lived with our feelings for our entire lives. If we were to lose the ability to feel tomorrow, we probably wouldn't act a whole lot different because we're so used to having them. (I tried to articulate that well. I don't know if it worked out.)

    The Graceful Assassin likes this.
  12. I think that since they are in a human form they can still re-create old memories of being able to feel.

Haha more like Nenlyxan, but I understand what you meant.

"I think that since they are in a human form they can still re-create old memories of being able to feel." I agree completely.

I feel that they could call back the memories and subsequently their hearts (depending on the relationship between memories and the heart; they have already chosen to at least research the heart, and may have already made the choice to retrieve their heart). In this way, when they act as though they can feel, perhaps they are unknowingly triggering past memories of those feelings they ae faking. Maybe eventually it would be enough to call them back.

But there is still some sort of emptiness in the way they currently are, even if they are recalling memories. I would argue that this is apparent because Axel laughs in CoM and startles himself because he really can feel something. This is notable because he has a rather laid back (yet flamboyant) personality, and acts this way almost all the time. But here he acts the same, but reacts to himself differently. Clearly, something changed from the time Sora was on the first floor of the castle to that point in time.

The other characters, however, even though they acted, too, did not have the same sensation or "epiphany."

Still, this episode seems to support the idea about being able to summon back at least small pieces of the heart.
