Pokemon Amethyst Version - OOC and SU

I've made my decision on the above matter: because I do not feel that I can stay true to what plans Destiny may have had for Aura, I will be moving this RP forward with time skip, placing us passed the first Gym. At that point I'd like for everyone to repost their Pokemon team roster; I'd say by that point we can all have three or four on hand.

 

I had planned for Jasmine's team to consist of only Eeveelutions as she has evolutionary stones on hand, could I have another Eevee or two for my new Pokemon?

 

If you would like. The region this is set in is free of some of the common restrictions on what wild Pokemon can be found. Though I personally think that we should remain adherent to constraints based on:

- Early, Mid and Late game/RP encounter; we can't be encountering Gravelers along the first few routes.
- Habitats; we're obviously not going to find Pigeotto while we're surfing out to an island, you know (I exaggerate there, but you get the point).

Things like that, just to help keep the balance.

Also, I think it is important to keep in mind that although all species of Pokemon exist within the region, factors of rarity should still be recognized. I would say that picking up on Eevee before the first Gym would be acceptable, but you'd have to make that a sort of side-plot for your character stock up a team full of Eevolutions.

Catching a Vaporeon? Or an Eevee to evolve?

Good choice though. The Vaporeon is exactly what I would have advised going with.

 

Caught an Eevee and evolved it. I plan on getting the stone/item I need for either Umbreon, or Espeon in the near future.

I think I'll be making my Starter Eevee an Umbreon when the time comes.

 

I'm thinking for Darrick, going into the second gym it'll be a team of

Cyndaquil (probably a Quilava by then)
HootHoot
Mudkip
Meditite

Unless that's a bit to tough a team to acquire so early. I imagine Meditite may put it over the top.

Well, I use the numerical levels to give myself a balance for my moveset. Can't have a level 20 Vaporeon with Hydro Pump y'know?

Also, what is the ruling towards obtaining a Sun Stone/Rock or Moon Stone/Rock?

 

Well, it can be assumed that everyone's Pokemon would be at a comparable level. Actually, I would say that they'd be a little under level 20.

If you can obtain them legitimately. I think I mentioned earlier that the search for certain stones could be something that your character dedicates herself to throughout the RP. Like, specifically hunting for a moon stone and a sun stone.

 

I was always level 15-20 before tackling the first Gym. Made it so much easier.

Are we still applying "Friendship values" because if we are I could easily evolve Summer into an Umbreon or Espeon by just battling during the night or the morning respectively.

Also, regarding Sylveon, and the other location specific Eeveelutions, how will that work?

 

I was usually the same way when playing through most games. But I'm setting this on a more having-to-train-before-battling-the-gym leader approach. We should, generally, be below the strength of the Gym Leader when we arrive in town, thus necessitating some training at the gym before moving on.

I don't intend to follow any numeric systems for this; it'd be way too much to crunch numbers like that. Just use your best judgment. A Pokemon would need a significant level of trust in its trainer, developed over a good length of time to make a friendship-based evolution happen. Maybe by the fourth or fifth town your starter can make that transition.

I'm currently working on a list of non-town and in-town locations that can serve as sidequests and the like along the way. I referenced one of them early in my presentation of the time skip, which I'd like to put to use eventually.

 

Jasmine has had Summer for a couple years prior to the start of the RP. Her Grandfather(Or Uncle, I can't remember which one I put) gave it to her and they've been friends since then. The Day she recieved Summer as a starter, Jasmine had already sent her ahead to Professor Cypruss a day in advance.
