Aura smiled at Laharl and was about to answer him when suddenly she was tacked to the ground.

"Rio-" The riolu rolled off some staring at the incident before him blinking before running in and jumping onto the pile wanting to be apart of the fun.

"Come on, now!" Aura pushed herself up and the people on top of her off.

"Thanks, Jazz, but hey are you ready to go. I think if we leave now we'll make it to the next town just before nightfall." Aura said to Jasmine as she stood back up and picked up the riolu.

"Rio!" Lu exclaimed looking back at the other girl.

"It's a pleasure, Krimson." Darrick shook hands with Krimson for a short second and let go. "Yeah. It would seem that I am team leader. But the important word in there is team. So if I get out of line at some point, I give you full permission to pull me back in; whatever happens, I can promise I won't let you guys down." He looked over to the other boy, Thomas, who, along with his Gible, had just walked over, joining in the team's first meeting. He smiled and nodded to his companion, satisfied with his team's early ease of socializing.

"Dragon-types have always fascinated me too," he added his input to the conversation on Thomas' starter choice. "Gible has an interesting secondary type too; part Dragon, part Ground. It would be interesting to see where yours goes in battles... and yeah, I was actually about to say, now that the three of us are together, we should probably go after Sara-Kate. It looked like she was following Professor Cypress; and he was probably on his way back to the lab. Might as well go back that way. So, I guess, my first directive for us as team leader is for the three of us to grab our packs and fetch Sara-Kate."

He dashed off, back to the three he had been under, speedily strapping on his backpack and getting back to his team and Pokemon. "Ready?' he asked. "Let's get going... and, oh yeah," he looked to Thomas, remembering that he had properly introduced himself. "Darrick Kuhn," he stated as he began to walk.

Krimson gave Darrick a joking salute and replied, "Yes sir!" He put his arm out for his Cyndaquil, who began to climb up his arm and onto his shoulder. He mimicked Krimson, saluting as she cried out, "Cyndaquiil!" Krimson laughed and nodded. He checked through his bag, double checking his supplies, before walking behind Darrick. As he followed behind, Jordan pulled out a small bag full of poffins. He held it in front of Cyndaquil's face, who nervously sniffed it first. Upon smelling it, Cyndaquil took it into her paws and began to silently eat it slowly. "Hey, you guys wouldn't want any poffins would you? Made some before I left, and I have plenty for all of our Pokemon," he asked the others.

"Nurse Joy! Nurse Joy!" Sara-Kate entered the Pokemon Center. "What's the matter, dear?"
Nurse Joy, I need you to take a look at my Zorua!" Sara-Kate handed over the pokeball. "Okay, let's have a look" Nurse Joy placed the pokeball on a machine and the monitor above her head lit up. "Hmm." "What does hmm mean, Nurse Joy!" Sara-Kate was being a little impatient as usual. "Kate, calm down! Chansey, I'll need you to use Heal Pulse on Kate" "Chan. Chan. Chansey" Pink rings engulfed Sara-Kate calming her down. "Okay, now that you are calm. Zorua, will be just fine. Get some fresh air and I'll have Zorua ready in a jiffy!" Nurse Joy was taking Zorua's pokeball into the back room. Um. Nurse Joy!" "Yes?!" "Thank you!" Nurse Joy smiled and went about her business. Sara-Kate went along with Nurse Joy's suggestion to get some fresh air. She stepped outside, and was thinking a lot clearer now. "I need to get stronger for mine and Zorua's sake" she thought to herself. At the same time, Sara-Kate was getting this lump-sum filling in the pit of her stomach. It was something that she was forgetting. Something that the professor said. She could recall him saying her name, but for what?

"Yeah, and kinda nervous," Zac said chuckled, "But yeah it would be interesting to meet your dad," From hearing about meeting Larhal's dad possibly, Zac wished he could see his dad on the journey as well, would be nice to see him. He saw Larhal extend his hand, stating his name, in which Zac grabbed it and shook, "I'm Zac Hanes," Zac said to the young man,

"Am I interrupting?" Nurse Joy said walking towards a Sara-Kate deep in thought. "Huh. Oh no. How's Zorua? "Come in and see for yourself. As they entered, Zorua was there waiting and upon seeing Sara-Kate lept off the machine and jumped into her arms. "Zoru-a". "I'm glad your okay too. Say thank you to Nurse Joy" "Zor Zor" "Well your very welcome. If you have anymore trouble please come back again and Kate be careful! "I will!" With that being said, Nurse returned behind the counter and Sara-Kate left. She then proceeded back to the others.

Jasmine picked up Summer who nuzzled against her trainer's chest, and happily chirped, "Eevee!" Smiling, Jasmine rubbed her Eevee's head and looked up at Aura happily, "Well, Summer looks ready to go! So I guess that means I am too! Umm..." She paused for a second looking down slightly and whispering, "You think they'll make fun of me, Aura? You know I'm not very good at this, and I'm clumsy too. I don't want to be picked on..."

Summer looked up at Jasmine with a saddened look, before nuzzling her trainer, "Eevee, Eevee..."

It was nice, in a manner of speaking, to see his teammates impressed with Gible. "Nice to meet you Darrick, and Krimson." Thomas spoke to the pair. As Krimson offered up the Poffins, Gible took the initiative and jumped through the air to snatch a Poffin out of Krimson's hand. Gible quickly gobbled up the Poffin as soon as he landed on the ground.

Thomas simply laughed as he straightened the backpack that was hanging from his back. "Energetic one, isn't he? Though I must admit that is quite impressive considering how heavy that little dragon is."

As the group continued down the road, Sara-Kate had come walking towards them.

"Oh hey, that was fast. Zorua doing better?" He spoke to her.

Darrick set a brisk pace for the team, leading them up the hill by only a stride, and joining with the revelry of the Gible's antics. Meanwhile, he noticed that Dante had decided to mimic his new friend by climbing up along his leg to get to a comfortable riding spot. Not breaking step, Darrick leaned down. As the leg Dante was clung to came forward, he scooped the Cyndaquil into his arm and placed him gently into a relaxing spot atop his shoulder, and took a poffin from Krimson, which Dante accepted without question, seeing that the other Pokemon were already enjoying the treat. He chuckled a bit at the sight of his Pokemon perched on his shoulder nibbling at the snack. "There will definitely be more goodies like that along the road Dante," he assured.

"Cynda! Cynda!" the Pokemon called in approval as it finished its last bite.

After a few minutes of walking, the trio had rounded to the front of Professor Cypress' lab. They were nearing the entrance when Thomas spoke up. Darrick, looking back down the road, saw Sara-Kate, complete with Zorua, walking towards them. "Oh. Good to you got you're Pokemon back up. We were about to come and pick you up. We thought you might have come back to the lab to heal." He diverted from the lab entrance and headed to meet Sara-Kate. "I know you were in a bit of a rush to tend to Zorua. Professor Cypress decided to divide us up into two teams; the four of us," he pointed around toward Krimson, Thomas, Sara-Kate and back to himself in a sweeping motion, stating everyone's name as his passed them, "are all on a team together. Do you have everything you need for the journey? We wouldn't to leave anything, or anyone, behind."

"I'm more than certain your eevee thinks so. And let's re-gather the others and hit the road.

Aura looked around before picking up her iPoketech device and shooting off a message to those on her team.

"If all of you are ready to go, let's meet at the town entrance off the path leading towards Terrera. Meet there in the next five minutes. If we leave now we'll be able to stay in the Pokemon Center in Terrera, if not we may need to camp out." Aura sent off the message looking at Lu before nodded.

"Alright let's go to the town entrance and wait for the others." She said to Jasmine as the two walked there.

"And don't worry about feeling like a klutz or anything like that, ok, you'll be fine. Just be yourself and everything else will fall into place." Aura said to cheer up her friend some.

    Be yourself.

Aura had no idea how much those words affected Jasmine. How much "herself" disgusted her. She was a disgusting person after all, because "herself" was different. She didn't look at boys and point out how handsome they were, or stuff like that... No, she was falling in, dare she say it, love with her best friend, her only friend. Who could blame her? Aura was the only person who stood up for Jasmine, and helped her adapt to being a girl. She was accepting of her, and to Jasmine that meant more then anything...

So as she followed her friend, she couldn't help but mumble to herself, "I wish it were that easy..."

"Teams?! What for?!" she exclaimed ignoring everything asked up till now. Sara-Kate wasn't much of a team-player to begin with. The last thing on her agenda was to pal around with these yahoos, but knowing the professor and his stubbornness, whining and pleading would get her nowhere. She held her breath and closed her eyes remembering the breathing exercise that her and her mom would go over every time Sara-Kate was in her 'fits'. She sighed and opened her eyes. "Let's get going! I don't want anyone to slow me down!" She examined the three other individuals on her team, noticing that she was the only girl. "Don't any of you get any perverted ideas either!" she said storming off in the direction of the town's entrance.

Darrick recoiled slightly, dropping his jaw in shock, certainly taken aback by his teammate's outburst. In his mind, he admitted to himself that he should have seen it coming, but made no mention of it. As Sara-Kate turned and began, he recovered his integrity and bolted forward, at a faster pace, beckoning for Krimson and Thomas to do the same. Though he was hard pressed in the effort, he lengthened his steps to compensate for the last distance and managed to place himself a stride ahead of Sara-Kate. Even then, her presence still seemed to influence him, her determined pace making him move faster with each stride. It almost felt he wasn't really leading the way; rather he was being pushed along by the overwhelming presence biting at his ankles.

Gonna be an interesting journey if this keeps up, he thought.

In moments the road out of town was within his view ahead. Off to the left, he stared nostalgically at the single house atop a small hill on the edge of the town line. It was one last glance at his house; his final piece of home to take with him. "My place," he said, more so to Krimson and Thomas, who he knew would be respectful of the mention, while pointing up to the hilltop. Fitting in one final glance at the house, he ground to an abrupt halt, directly in front of Sara-Kate, a movement at the house having caught his eye. "Sorry," he said to everyone, knowing that he must have caused some confusion and probably a bit of anger from the people behind him; only a brief apology, before he set his attention back to the path from his house.

Making their way down the hill swiftly, yet still somehow calmly, was a man whose resemblance to Darrick was without question, set apart only by the obvious difference in age. "My old man," he said. "Sorry to hold us up like this, but I've got something to take care of. Family business. It shouldn't take too long." He held up his to his team, assuring them that they wouldn't be waiting long and hopefully convincing them to stay, and approached his father with a grin. "He Pap," he said cheerfully, bringing attention to Dante resting on his shoulder. "Got my first Pokemon. Was just on my way--"

"Back to the house," his father stated coldly.

This time, it was Darrick that was left confused. "Excuse me?"

"Did I stutter?" his father inquired. "I told you to go back to the house. Or are you really sure that you can handle the road ahead of you?"

"Well that's a dumb question, no offense," Darrick retorted quickly. "Of course I'm ready. You know I'm ready. I've been training for this day my whole life!"

"So, you're set on leaving after all then?"

"Yeah. Why are you questioning me about this? You didn't question Dee--"

"Enough!" his father shouted, raising his hand to silence Darrick. "Don't mention that. Things are different. I have to make sure with you. You know the drill." From his back pocket, Darrick's father removed a single Pokeball.

"Exactly what I've been waiting for all day," Darrick exclaimed. "You ready for this Dante? Our first battle!"

"Cyndaquil! Cyndaquil!" Dante bellowed, leaping from Darrick's shoulder and onto the ground, the flames upon his back burning brightly with energy.

((Ball is in your court for the battle if you're still up for it KoD. I'm figuring a post to get the Pokemon out, Darrick will go and land a good hit, but his father will finish things quickly from there)).

Krimson smirked, shaking his head as Sara-Kate rushed off, almost as if leading the group. What was previously a casual walk turned into a jog as Krimson tried to keep up with Darrick, who was being pushed to go even further due to Sara-Kate being on his heels. He was close enough to hear Darrick point out his house over on the hilltop so Krimson slowed up a bit to take a look over at it. "Wow, that's pretty cool! I bet you have a great view from there, huh?"

A sudden stop in the group caught Krimson off guard, stumbling a bit as he stopped. His Cyndaquil gripped tightly onto Krimson, so she was fine. Krimson rubbed his Cyndaquil's head soothingly before looking back at the group. "Um, why did we stop exactly?" He watched as Darrick went over to talk to his father, most likely about the adventure he was ready to embark on. Krimson smiled at the sight at first until the two seemed to come to some sort of disagreement.

Upon seeing the two step back from one another, Krimson quickly identified it to be a battle in the works. "Alright Darrick! Good luck," he yelled to his team leader.

Darrick's father scoffed at seeing the Cyndaquil. Firmly gripping his pokeball at first, he threw the small ball out in front of him. "Go Treecko!" Erupting from a bright light was a Treecko, arms out and ready for battle. "Treeeecko," he said in the direction of the Cyndaquil, no doubt trying to intimidate him.

"Hmph. This is your last chance to back out now son and return to the house this instant," he warned Darrick, as if oblivious to his clear type disadvantage.

"You won't have to worry about me." Thomas laughed at Sara-Kate's comment. "I'm not a lolicon or anything." Sara-Kate's next decision to hurry up caused the group to essentially break into a sprint, with Thomas in dead last as he continued to walk for a moment longer than everybody else. Clearly Thomas and Sara-Kate were total opposites as this journey started out. Sara-Kate was in a hurry to become the champion of Acirem whereas Thomas was simply content to enjoy the journey at his own pace.

Fortunately though, Sara-Kate was only about 13 or so whereas Thomas was 3 years her senior. That age difference would most likely mean that Sara-Kate would drain herself much faster than Thomas would if they were both moving at Sara-Kate's pace. So when she ran out of energy, the group would be able to take things a bit slower and enjoy the journey.

All things considered though, letting the entire group run off without him this early in the journey probably isn't a good idea. Therefore Thomas quickly hurried up to the group.

As the group hurried along, Darrick pointed his house. Thomas quietly looked at it as the group came to a sudden halt. Perhaps when the group arrived in Dragnor Thomas would have to show everybody around his own house.

The stranger, Darrick's own father, confused Thomas. He seemed to want to prevent Darrick from this journey or something. But why would he wait till now to do so? Why not do so earlier? No matter the reason, apparently the only way to settle this matter was through a Pokemon battle. It was time for Thomas to observe a trainer with proper experience with battling.

Getting the message Laharl had already made his way to the entrance. He sat there waiting for the others. He had already bought more pokeballs and a few potions.

" Raijin we're gonna train you up so strong we're gonna be the best!"

    "Shin shin!! SHIII"

The little shinx was excited to start his new adventure. Though part of Laharl was a bit worried that eventually he'd run into his father at the Gym. He had better be strong by that time. But as quick as that feeling came it left. He was again filled with the excitement of getting to know his new travel mates and their Pokemon as well.

"Ha! You're on old man," Darrick said. Despite his father's seriousness, Darrick was in high spirits, excited at his first chance to show his worth. He scoffed slightly at his father's choice of Pokemon though: a Treecko, a grass type, matching up against a fire type seemed preposterous at first. But then, he recalled his sister's battle with him seven years ago; this battle was already looking similar to that one.

Recalling that event, Darrick aired towards caution. He pulled out his tech gear, combing through it quickly to find the information he needed: a complete set of specific data on the Cyndaquil he had been given. It was still in its early stages, but it had a good pool of moves, some of which Darrick hadn't been expecting. "Tackle, Leer, Smokescreen, Double Kick," he spoke to himself. "This could be a good battle. Dante doesn't have any fire type moves yet." He looked across the battlefield towards his father's Treecko; though he didn't have the data on that Pokemon, he could tell from its looks that it was at about the same place as Dante was in terms of growth and strength. With the right moves at the right time, Darrick might just pull off an upset. But then, knowing his father's philosophies, he knew that he couldn't count on overpowering and type advantages.

"Alright Dante," Darrick called to his focused Cyndaquil. "Let's start this one off with some insurance. Use Smokescreen."

"Cynda! Quil!" Dante growled. The flame on its back shot up and the Pokemon emitted a veil of smoke in the Treecko's direction.

"That should give us some protection."

Zac recieved his message on the iPoke, and looked to his golem companion, "Come on MEga," Zac smiled as he began to walk off, with Mega following behind him. He made it on over to the entrace, pretty excited for this trip like his other partners. Mega also seemed to rather happy, although it was hard to read his face, didn't have a mouth and his eyes never seemed to blink, hard to get a good read off of him. Oh well, Mega seemed very jolly at the moment, so Zac didn't have to worry about it.

Aura looked up as the two others on their team approached. She looked at the other three.

"So with all four of us now accounted for, I guess we can begin our adventure. You guys ready?" Aura asked them. She turned around and looked beyond the gate she smiled. It was time for them to make their mark on their own Pokemon quest.

"Let's go!" She exclaimed as she started running beyond the gate, her riolu jumping off her shoulder to run alongside her as the two practically copied each other as they ran along down the path.

With the ball of smoke hitting Treecko, Darrick's father and the Treecko's vision were severely hindered as the ball of smoke began to fan out on his side of the field. The Treecko carefully tried to look around it as it tried to find an opening or at least be able to see Cyndaquil. The father doing the same, he was able to make out the Cyndaquil through the smoke and smiled accordingly.

"Treecko, on your right, run forward and use Pound!"

The Treecko nodded and obediently ran through the smoke in the direction given with his fist pulled back to get the most of it's pound when it hit Cyndaquil. Upon seeing the Cyndaquil at last, the Treecko took a small leap upward as it prepared to come back down and land the pound.
