Powers? 2- The Shards of Yuleania

Leah watched as Aiden walked away and she wasn't sure what to do. She didn't think it would be so awkward having Tom and Aiden in the same room before now. Honestly she still wasn't sure what the heck any of the three were thinking including herself. There could have been a number of reasons Tom kissed her. If he really liked her wouldn't he have come back to Yuleania? Or was that a normal earth custom to kiss someone and then disappear without a trace. But then Tom had always been a bit spontanious. And then there was Aiden, back in the building she thought he really did mean that he loved her but like a sister like... ooh! Why do they have to be so darn confusing!

Alexis looked at Leah and then At Aiden who was still walking away and Faye who looked stricken and Tom who'se expression she couldn't read. She looked back at Leah "...You ok? What's going on?" she asked.

Leah shook her head, glad a little that Alexis aroused her from her train of thought "Yeah of course." she said with a slight attempt at a smile "I agree with you though. I'm tired and- nevermind." she said, glad she actually yawned to help enfoce the lie. She covered her face to try to cover the yawn and then looked at those who were still with her, Tom, Alexis, and Zero "We should go to bed. If Aiden's in a bad mood then we'll probably leave really early tomorrow."

Alexis nodded "You have a point. Besides it takes forever to walk back to the city." she said, feeling awkward suddenly. She nodded at Tom, Leah, and Zero and then took off toward the inn as well.

 

Leah looked around and was a bit suprised that they were alone. Partly she wanted to know if Aiden was ok. She didn't mean to make him mad. But her curiosity about Tom's strange behavior and her need to help a friend won her over "No. It's not too late." she said, trying to smile through her curiosity "Go ahead and tell me whatever it is. You haven't gotten yourself into trouble right?"

 

Leah was puzzled by Tom's request and a bit... well alot... worried but she wasn't suprised. He had always been a bit unpredictable. It didn't take her even a second before she had her answer though "I dont want you to die." she sighed "Tom... I want to say that I can do that but I've seen what people on your world call suicide. Thats what you're asking. To help you comit suicide... unless of course I have human vocabulary mixed up again."

 

Leah shook her head "Then dont try to know everything Tom." she said cautiously "Find something else to need better than knowlege." she at this point got over the shock from the strange request. She sighed "No one was meant to knoe everything but no one was meant to cross the boarder between Yuleania and earth either... not at the young age you did. Yuleanians were not meant to grow up on Earth, it's something known to be impossible due to the fact that the two worlds are so different but you managed that too. You are really a marval Tom and if anyone can cange their own destiny I think its you."

 

Leah nodded "He's right. We have an early morning tomorrow and its a long way back home." she said to Zero and Tom. "There's an inn just over that hill right there. Tell them you're with me and they will find you a room." she then began to walk back toward the clearing but she stopped, obviously speaking less obviously seeing as Zero was now listening "There are a lot of things that dont happen every day, Tom. That doesn't mean you are supposed to run from the difficult or strange." she didn't sound very acusitory, just making a point more than anything else.
She then nodded politely to Zero and attempted to smile through her worry and confusion "Get some rest you two or you wont be able to keep up tomorrow." she then walked off, though not toward the inn, toward the clearing where she had been teaching Alexis magic earier.

 

Leah smiled a bit and after giving Zero and Tom a wave, she was out of sight. She didn't bother using magic. She would need to save her energy besides, she wanted to be alone for longer than a teleport there and back again. By the time she reached the clearing, silver moonlight was the only sorce of light across the feilds. Leah almost liked the place at night more than in the daytime. It didn't seem so big and the flowers looked silver. Everything was a bit more pieceful. She walked through the feilds looking for something. "Ohh.. I know I dropped it around here somewhere." she muttered to herself. She was referring to the communication earring she had left here when trying to explain to Alexis how to use them. *she had one all through the first half of the first RP if you dont remember*
She saw something glimmer in the moonlight and looked in the direction to see something shine dimly on the ground at the base of a tree and the bench Aiden had been using earlier that day "Oh!" she said "Found you." she knelt down to pick it up but she suddenly felt on edge. Something didn't feel right. She was being watched. She didn't move at first, she just listened to who or whatever was in the clearing with her as it moved through the grass and flowers behind her. Whatever it was, it was silent and she could tell it was on two feet so it obviously was just one and deffinately not complete animal or animal at all.
Leah didn't want to have to move to startle whatever it was unless she had to but she, very cautiously, turned around, being sure to move as little as possible.
She was startled and about screamed when she found herself face to face with her 'visitor' when she turned. She could see that it was kneeling down, deffinately on two legs. But she couldn't tell what species or gender... or anything for that matter. Magic wards blocked it's mind and shadows, plus a hood kept her from seeing most of it's face. She bit her lip and just stared back at who or whatever it was. The two froze there for a time that was beginning to seem endless to Leah. Whatever this thing was, it had a magical hold on her that she couldn't understand. It was almost dairing her to reach up and remove it's hood but a fear that was not her own clung tightly to her heart making it impossible for her to move. Her body was no longer her's to control. It belonged to a fear that she didn't understand.
Finally, the stranger stood. Looming above Leah, who was almost suprised to see she was still kneeling on the ground. Their voice was magically tainted, making it sound raspy and soft enough that it nearly just blended in with the breeze of the night "The time comes soon that you will know pain again, Leah, Princess of Yuleania."
And then... it was gone again. Like rain dropped in a pail of water it vanished, blended in a ripple of night air and Leah felt the fear that came with it also vanish, though her own had not been subsided. Leah sat there for a few more seconds. Trying to decide what on earth had just happened.
A bit shaken from the suprise experience still, Leah stood up. She searched around the clearing a little to see where her mysterioius messenger could have gone but she saw nothing. She felt nothing. She was alone.
With a sigh she decided she better start back for the inn. "Well... that was exciting for a moment." she thought to herself sarcasticly. Wondering now if she had just halucinated the whole thing. She WAS pretty tired.

 

Leah nodded "Hey, Aiden. Sorry I woke you. I left something of my dad's out in the feild. I had to go back and get it." she wondered if she should tell what she saw but then she sighed and decided it was no big deal. It could have been anything. A Tree Ssert, for example, which was an endangured squirrel-like magical creature that could use your nightmares to drive you away from their territory. "There was something out there with me. It startled me was all. Lets get back to the inn. I think we should leave a bit earlier tomorrow."

 

The master nodded and stepped forward "It's written in an ancient glyph." she said after a moment. She studied it for a moment later before she looked back at Cain, her face still mostly hidden under her hood "I recognise it well, it is a dead language in Yuleania. Even I can barely make out some of it's wording but I believe it's some form of instruction to get past this barrier to the shard. The language was created by the enemy of Sleif. The oracle of Yulenia who died just after meeting his son on earth in the attack of Malefest." she sighed "Now that he is dead, I'm unsure if there is anyone who can read it completely."

Leah paused... unsure what to say. "You're right, Aiden. I'm sure that Faye does feel a bit awkward and I'm sure you do too." she wasn't sure if it was exactly appropriate to say this but she wasn't sure at all what to do and she was getting a bit ticked off. Something that didn't happen with Leah often. "When you kiss a friend just randomly out of the blue with no explanation and then just run off, yeah it's a bit confusing." she said. "I'm sorry Aiden but honestly I dont know. Absolutely no idea what I'm feeling about anyone and I'm tired so I'm going to sleep." she said it a bit ubruptly, but she at least tried to smile. Despite the fact that she was worried about what she had just seen back in the field and the fact that one boy had kissed her and the other told her he loved her and one of them just barely got kissed by her best friend and the other just asked her to kill him! She walked backwards to her room, reaching back and fumbling for the nob of the door before the door swung open behind her, nearly making her trip and fall over backwards "Goodnight Aiden."
