Powers? 2- The Shards of Yuleania

Leah realized in order to find her friends on time she would have to use magic. She sighed, clearing her thoughts and she focused on enhancing her senses. It was a very simple spell that didn't require much energy and it was a good starter spell for finding someone who was lost. IT was a wise first choice because she could hear Tom's voice. She couldn't hear what he was saying but the tone in his voice wasn't friendly nor was it exactly menacing. She then teleported.

Rachael laughed, she really honestly tried not to. She didn't want to appear as blindly cocky as her father had but Tom was making that hard. "I knew you were spirited I just didn't know you were foolish as well. Anyhow I dont hold our friend against his will. He agreed to help us why do you think he left the Inn and came all the way out here? A walk?" she said it sarcasticly. She knew something Tom didn't and she liked making that obvious.

Leah had to stop just a bit short of the cave in order to reserve energy just incase she needed to fight once she reached her friends. She could hear more voices now but the one she was hearing she couldn't believe. It couldn't be Rachael... could it? She found herself just outside a cave where she could hear the voices speaking one with another. She wasn't sure if her goosebumps were a product of the extreme cold that seemed to come around this cave and remind her of her experience in the clearing or if it was because of her worry for her friends and that she may have found Rachael. Part of her didn't want to know. She stayed outside the cave, listening to the conversation, waiting for a name to be mentioned or at least waiting for a moment when she could be helpful with the element of suprise. She used a very cleaverly thought up cloaking spell to keep heself hidden from sight and senses.

 

Leah couldn't stay hidden any longer. Her worry for her friends got the best of her as it always does "Aiden dont!" she called after him, her cloaking spell wore off and she appeared in the entrence of the cave. She couldn't believe it. SHe had never seen Aiden act like that. Its almost like it wasn't him. And now he just ran away...
She just then felt something very familiar. A supernatural feeling almsot as if she were paralized with fear but it wasn't her own. She turned back to face whoever had attacked her friends, now fearing the worst. She came face to face with a face from the past... one she had been hoping she would see again but not like this.

"Leahona." Rachael said with a less than pleasent smile "It's been too long princess." she mocked.

Leah grimacd at the mention of her full name and title. Rachael knew she didn't like being called by Leahona or Princess. This annoyed her but she ignored it "Rach, what did you do to him." she said.

Rachael shrugged "Nothing. I was just here as a bistander and teacher what he did to himself was caused by you and your little earth friend." she said that while gesturing at Tom.

Leah frowned "By us?" she looked at Tom, thinking that her foster sister had officially lost her marbles. "Rach what are you talking about?"

Rachael smiled "Not that you should be too suprised. You always did have a habit of bringing out the best in people." she laughed about that.

Leah just rolled her eyes "It was nice to see you too Rach." she reached over and lightly took Tom's hand so to discretely get his attention There's no threat here. Shes crazy but not evil she told him telepathicly. Menwhile she told Rachael "Not that this isn't fun but I really should go after our friend before he gets himself killed."

She began to teleport herself and Tom. The last thing they heard was a very coy comment from Rachael "Of course. I'll see you when you get home, sis. Dad will be thrilled to see you again."

Then that view was gone, replaced by trees and the night sky instead of the stone cave walls. She realized she had held onto Tom's hand tighter than was probably at all comfortable for him at this moment. She wasn't sure if that was because of the spell or because of Rachael and what she had said 'dad' did she mean my dad or hers?

Leah let go of Tom's hand and looked around "Well... thats not exactly the way I like my friends to meet extended family." she tried to lighten the mood a little. "But I guess thats just how things go around here." she sighed

A sinister grin spread across Rachael's face "Cleaver." she said with a shrug "She always was charming." she said sarcasticly, now getting rid of the false sweetness and replacing it with a bit of a sharp attitude.

"Should I go after them. I can sense that my particular skills infect Leahona very well." the hooded follower suggested.

Rachael shook her head "No. Let them go after Aiden. They wont last very long against him if he loses his temper again... poor Cain." she wasn't very sinsere about Cain. She laughed.

 

Leah listened to Aiden, relieved that he was speaking to her partly because she knew he was alive and partly because she was glad he wasn't completely overtaken by whatever had made him kill her sisters 'pet'.
"Aiden?" she accidently spoke her response to him out loud as well as mentally, not exactly worrying about making Tom and whoever else may be watching think she was a lunatic talking to herself because in this world everyone was use to mind communication. "...I... dont know." she sighed, her emotions were apparent in her words as well as the emotions that came with the words she spoke to Aiden "Please just come back. We can try to figure this out when I can see you and know you're ok."

 

Leah tried to contact him through his mind but she couldn't reach him anymore. "Aiden?!" called out but she couldn't get him to answer through minds or real life. "Aiden!"
She didn't give herself the time to think. She wasn't sure what to do at all. Tom told her to kill him, Aiden said the same, the others were left back at the cabbin and still had no idea what was going on, oh yeah and her crazy foster sister decided to drop by for a visit and thats how all this started. She ran in the direction Aiden had ran off before. She thought she had heard him scream somewhere in that direction but he didn't sound the same exactly so she wasn't sure but she had to at least try. She was tired from the day's events and she had no weapons but it didn't really matter. It was Aiden, she wouldn't need to fight him.

Rachael sighed "Always the over zealous one that sister of mine." she sighed as she watched Leah run off to get into a situation that would be way over her head.

"It wont do if he kills her now." pointed out the tall cloaked one.

"You have a point, we need her alive at least for now. Perhaps the smart earth kid will be sensible and at least make sure she doesn't get herself killed if not then we will just have to step in."

Rachael and her servant were watching the group from the cave still, using magic to create a window, almost like a moving picture of the friends.
