Beatrice's attention immediately turned to the Sealstone once it entered her visual field, and she wasted no time in grabbing it. The moment her fingers brushed the (rock?) an energy flowed through her body, making her feel more secure, while at the same time taking away some of the mechanic's confidence in her ability to attack. Still, the security in itself was worth something.

"Nu tha's more like it!" She cackled, turning to see the others below her, all getting much closer, much faster. The least of which being Sean, who decided to take the express route. Beatrice facepalmed, finally realizing that her luck had run its course. "O'course he goes fer me. . . even tho'm the furthest aweh!"

Wrench in hand, she stepped behind the edge of the platform, readying herself in a batter's stance for when Sean turned up.

OOC: Whoever keeps on adding the really stupid tags, get them off. Now. They're stupid.

The greater heights of the mighty tree saw the daylight turned in phase towards that of night. Sarah thought for sure that she was nearing the top; but the thickening of the branches around her would not allow a fair glance to its upper reaches. For all she knew, there were miles below her that she might have climbed. And at that, there may have been miles further that she had to climb in order to reach the top. It almost seemed futile to her. Why should I keep climbing when all of my opponents are probably way below me? That Goddess needs a better sense of what a fight is. This is starting to bore me.

Upon a branch just wide enough to accommodate her stance, she ceased to climb higher. She wasn’t tired, for that didn’t come so easily to her. If anything, she wanted to wait and bide her time. The others, or at least one or two of them, would make it up the tree before long. She knelt down on the branch, with her back up against the trunk of the tree. The brush and branches around her were thickly gathered, such that it all provided a curtain of sorts, which hid her from the eyesight of her opponents, and this was certainly a space in which the guards wouldn’t be dispatched, not with a ruckus further down to draw their focus. She looked around, and took note that there were no crystals in her vicinity. If the battling neared her, she’d have the elements of surprise, and a legitimate rest going for her.

It was just a matter of patience….

Freya started to realize that they all are at a good position and so she stood from her chair. "LET US END THIS BATTLE!" Freya raised up her hands as the world started to transform. As the stage transformed, everything changed into the world of Valhalla into the Halls of Valhalla. The crowd kept on cheering as they were ready. "There are many halls but this time, no one will be able to escape so easily." Inida was still focusing her powers and she was able to succeed. A flower engulfed her from the ground as the flower bloomed up from the ground. The flower stood there as Inida was spinning inside the flower. As the flower was opened, Inida was ended up dressed in white, having enough energy from Yggdrassil to be able to fight.

"Now we shall end this battle." The four was placed randomly but closer together in the halls. There were no walls but the halls are long. There are also rooms. Inida looked around to try and find Beatrice and she started running; she took the opened, gigantic flower with her. As she kept on running, she encountered Beatrice and started to charge. "Beatrice! Take care of Sean!" Inida started to break the flower into pieces as she started to give them to Beatrice to help her out. She started to go into Beatrice's ears and whispered, "He may be the pitcher but you are the batter. MAKE A HOME RUN!" Inida then started to look around to protect Beatrice from getting double-teamed.

Sean began to realize he was going to lose this battle if he didn't make a drastic move. It was time to unleash the Nova attack. Beatrice and Inida were close together making them the primary targets for this attack. Sean stopped his charge and gathered his energy. he was still a good distance away for them, so he doubted any harm would come his way at this moment.

Five minutes passed, enough time to build the Nova. Sean Sent a small burst of energy from the soles of his feelt propelling him at Beatrice and Inida. He landed in between them and gave a small smirk. "you're right, let's finish this!" he cried. "NOVA!!!!!" with that a burst of incredible flame burst from every corner of Sean's being. engulfing both Inida and Beatrice. The burst lasted a good thirty seconds, and then retracted back into Sean.

The ground around him was smoking and singed, and Sean was exhausted. only now did he realize his blunder, if he didn't recover fast, Sarah would have the perfect opportunity to strike him down as well, and even Inida and Beatrice could take him out now if they survived the Nova. Sean fell to his knees, his energy slowly started to come back to him, but he was as open to attack as ever now.

. . . Or that would be the case, had Sean not stupidly waited for five minutes to charge up his attack. By that point, Beatrice was already running, considering that her opponents in this round could all move fairly fast, staying in one place was just asking to get hit by something ranged, and Inida seemed to be loopy-

"'Onestly, givin' meh flowa pedals!" The mechanic complained, ducking into a room that contained a chest. "Wot the fock am I supposed ta dew wit that?"

But the container drew her attention, and she quickly stooped to open it where it sat. It might contain something useful, after all.

(I believe this is a bit more of a ref step in type thing to tell me what is in the chest?)

With the change in environment, Sarah saw her spirits changed as well. And this time, that change was all for the better. No longer did she see a fruitless climb up an infinitely tall tree. No longer was she separated from her opponents by the multitudes of branches and the heights of that annoying tree. To the contrary, she was now on perfectly level grounds, with little to no obstructions blocking her path to any of her foes. The open hallways would of course prove a challenge for defending herself from attacks; but they would allow her to utilize her mobility and swift actions without much worry.*

Her positioning in the corridor couldn't have been any more ideal either. The furiously desperate pyro stood in front of her, his body poised in the preparation of his next move. Beyond him, in his initial line of fire, stood the other two. The both of them lingered just a moment before running off towards to opposite end of the hall. Whatever the pyro was plotting, it wouldn't bring him victory. If anything he was leaving his defeat a certainty at that point by throwing everything on the table. This was where Sarah saw her opportunity.*

With an infernal stream of flames billowing down the hall, and thus, restricting access from one end, Sarah was more or less free to bide her time to prepare an attack. In the time it took, she had focused her energy to her hands. Though it was not as bright concentrations giving off an aura, but a silent, unseen force ready to be expelled at a second's notice, a host of several possible attacks and defenses at the ready. It was then that moment came, where the fire began to recede. The caster of the attack was clearly exhausted by an ultimately fruitless attempt to end the battle.*

No patience, Sarah thought. She dashed down the hall, only a short way before arriving at he kneeling figure that was the fire user. She went to place a gentle set of fingers upon the back of his neck. With a portion of her concentrated energy acting as a catalyst, made to give him a non-deadly jolt, like a punch, save that it would be more like her energy punching through the surface of his skin, disrupting his nerve signals. If it all went well, he would be rendered unconscious, possibly even well to the end of the battle.

(DX Sorry Moog. I didn't make this up. The Random Machine did this to your character.)

As Beatrice opened the chest, a cool wind started to come out of the chest. As the chest was opened completely, a light blue gas started to come out of it, trapping Beatrice in a block of ice. Freya started to laugh as she started to float in front of Beatrice, mocking her. "What a beautiful ice sculpture!" Freya then used her hips as she knocked the Iced-Beatrice down, shattering the ice but also causing minimal damage to her. "And that is payback." Freya then flew back to her throne while the crowd still cheered. They were actually cheering for Sarah.

"Really. Five minutes? Wow." Inida was already gone as Sean shot the attack, avoiding the Nova. As she looked back, she saw that Serah has already attacked Sean as a sneak attack. "How very clever of you Serah." Inida started to stand there and started to charge up her energy. "Still, there can only be one winner and... I cannot allow you to let all of us suffer from this." Inida started to have her energy orbs ready as they swirled around her and shot them at Serah, preparing herself to have a psychic battle against Serah.

Realizing how horrible of a mistake he had made by using the Nova Sean cursed himself, it hadn't even hit any of his opponetnts and now he was weak and out in the open. Suddenly he felt two fingers on the back of his neck.

"Oh sh-" was all he could get out before a sudden burst, which felt as if a fist punched him in the brain, rendered his nervous system useless. He fell from his knees onto his frontside, unable to move. as his eyes closed, the last thing he saw was Sarah standing over him, and then the world left him.

Locked within his own subconcious, Sean didn't know if he was dead or not. What he did now was that his idiotic mistake had cost him the fight, and now he was paying the price for it.

Beatrice was more than a little angry about what had just happened to her, but the sheer cold she still felt after being freed was more than enough to keep her quiet. She just took her large wrench and slammed it against the chest, breaking it apart. Snatching up some of the metal corners of the box, as well as the wire that was hooked to the lid (In order to trigger the trap, of course), she quickly connected the pieces with the help of some of the nails she had, making a somewhat functional crossbow in the process. Given the fact that Inida and Serah were occupying themselves with eachother, Beatrice had plenty of time to make sure the thing didn't try to implode whenever she prepared it.

"An' on tha' note. . ." Beatrice mumbled, eyeing some of the slivers of wood and metal left over, "Got te use summat fet ammo!"

She scooped up a handful of the long slivers, tying them together in a neat bundle with the remaining amount of wire.

“Rest well,” Sarah whispered to Sean as she felt his body go limp at her side. “It was for the better. You’d have been beaten to a pulp in your state.” Her focus shifted, following down the grand corridor towards the other end where the remaining competition lied to be engaged. Inida was the first to reveal herself in the aftermath of the firestorm, the first to offer herself as the new opponent. In the face of the obvious power before her, Sarah suppressed her fears and worries. Her facial expressions held a placid look of awareness. The flow of energy to her hands was still in abundance, and even that was not her full capacity. Perhaps about a quarter of what she had.

The flow itself commenced a gentle exertion as her intentions swayed from attacking to defending. A dull light surrounded her hands from the tips of her fingers to the wrist. Giving no reply to her opponent’s words, she moved in response to the attack that was mounted. She placed her hand before her, palms out. The energy released in a more finite and visible mass. The portion of it released converged and molded into a dome pushing its way forward in the corridor, expanding as it moved. The end product was a blanketing shield, one that took the impact of Inida’s orbs. The shield itself, the energy that formed it, dispersed as it took the impacts, and even as it moved forward, it grew thinner, and thus, less useful in its state.

It wasn’t to be rendered completely useless though. Seeing herself within the clear of the assault, Sarah took what control she could of the released matter. The fragments that remained in tact enough to be formed into something else changed direction and reconfigured as condensed beams that honed in on Inida. Damage from any single beam would be unaffecting; but if she failed to protect herself, failed to dodge somehow, or the beams penetrated what defenses she could muster, the damage would pool and certainly leave a substantial dent. But the point of it was not to land damage, but rather to make a distraction. Using her attack as a cover, Sarah ran down the corridor, making closer the gap between her and her opponents.

Inida did not panicked but just clasped her hands together as she was focusing her powers. As the beams has gotten closer, she closed her eyes and started to teleport, dodging the beams and appeared on top of a pillar. As she turned around, the beams hit a wall and made it explode. As she turned around, she saw Freya going towards Sean and smiled. "How pathetic... but not with some sympathy." Freya raised up her hands and decided to send him to Valhalla, making him an einherjar. As Sean was moved out of the arena, Freya disappeared back to her throne as she kept on watching with the crowd to see the rest of the battle.

"Where are you..." Inida started to jump and started to glide in the air. As she started to glide in the air, she started to look around to see if Beatrice is alright. She wasn't sure but she started to take down a different corridor that Serah didn't take, trying to find Serah and to stop her.

Beatrice exited her little room, bearing the makeshift crossbow like a bludgeon. It lacked a proper, curved handle, so she had to fire it like she was aiming a flashlight. And who would she spot coming down the hall towards her but the fighter, Serah. From what she could tell, her opponent used some sort of close-range energy thing, but it didn't look like the magic she was used to. The mechanic readied her shot and fired straight at Serah's torso when she was about twenty yards away, quickly resetting the mechanism and readying her large wrench for combat.

Sarah’s dash down the corridor fell to a grinding (more like sliding) stop when she realized her intended opponent was no longer there. Vanished, ran away, or even torched by her last attack. It was a bittersweet thought to believe that such a worthy-looking adversary would have succumbed so easily before such a trifling assault; but then, it wasn’t all too easy to believe that as the case.

All there was to greet her at the other end of the corridor was the unruly wrench-wielder. Instead of a wrench, the woman brandished a scrapped looking device, a makeshift ranged weapon, like a bow and arrow, forged from shards of whatever she could find. Sarah had little time to reposition herself though. The sharp splinter of wood made contact with her left shoulder.

She was spared excruciating pain by two facts: that her leather top proved to be padded enough to shield some damage, and the fact that, for all the genius behind the woman’s improvised weapon, it was still no substitute for the real thing, and a few splinters of wood were no stand-in for a real arrow. Pulling the splinter out from the stinging spot on her skin beneath her vest she took the moment’s pause to stand herself properly.

Then… she waited for the woman to come at her.
