I have! But I dont have time to list impressions. I'll edit this when I get home.

    Edit.

    I'm loving this season so far. I liked the lore drops, I like Qrows unique semblance and I sure as hell love Wiess' outburst and escape. I'll be sad and on edge when 4 ends and I have to wait till 5. ;-;

I know! DAMN! They sure know how to make a great finale.

I'm really hoping they release the soundtrack soon, because that closing song (the one that plays under Ruby's monologue) is one of (if not THE) most beautiful tracks I've heard in an series.

They haven't released the soundtrack yet? I'm already jittery like an addict wanting the dvds. haha

Can we just mention how freakin creepy that final boss grimm was?

They've released some of the tracks. But not all of them.

That thing was definitely one of the grotesque Grimm they've shown us. And the battle against it was intense too. (The more I think about it, in general, the more I feel that some aspects of the Grimm may have been inspired by the Heartless from KH; but the similarities are pretty minute).

Overall, I'm kinda disappointing in the way a lot of people have been receiving this past season. A lot of folks around the web are complaining that it moved too slow, that there wasn't nearly enough action, etc. But I think it was definitely a good breathing space for the story, which allowed for a lot of key development among the characters.

We got more backstory on Nora and Ren
We got to see Jaune come more into his own as a fighter
We got to see Weiss break out of her familial shackles

Just to name the easier ones to really pinpoint.

Given Monty created Dead Fantasy, which had Kairi in it, you could be right lol. Although this grimm in particular was based on an old Celtic monster from what I can tell. Probably added to it's imposing nature. :D

I've been trying to ignore the rwby fandom. They've been less than stupid ever since the Pyrrha ordeal. I've noticed that many can't seem to comprehend slow progression or story telling. They see the gang and complain, I see them and like you appreciate the slower time and attention to characters.

He did? I'll have to check that out some time. I've just noticed that there's some striking similarity in their basic behavior, particularly in that they tend to be attracted towards places that give off 'negative energy' and their tendency to dissipate in clouds of smoke. That and it seems that there's a bit of a sentience spectrum among the Grimm as well.

He did! I dont think he ever finished Dead Fantasy but it's his creation. That and his work on RvB is what gave Oum enough weight to make RWBY.
The Grimm are what KH1 heartless were like. Not you got lots of crazy sh*t in KH but the Grimm are like that retained simplistic heartless. Their backstory is even simple, a god was petty, they only breath to break sh*t. Simple, interesting, best.

Well I loved how the graphics improve with each volume. I really enjoyed seeing what I watched. :D
I wanna say it was some form of forehsadow but I feel like I'd be looking too deep into it if I did.

    You?

HOW BOUT DEM GRAPHICS. For real, this season has me super hype tbh. I'm really looking forward to it.

It's great to see their animation budget catching up to their VA and music budgets. RWBY has continuously deserved it.

As am I. :D Everything has improved as time went, story, animation, etc. I can't wait to see if another city falls or if it's saved. Also, am I the only one that found the moment Wiess used fire in the fight gorgeous? I'm not sure what it is about that one moment that's stand out.

It truly has! Knowing all the stuff RT does, while broadcasting shows like they do for free, they've deserved repeatedly to have more budget.

Random but I'm curious how much of Monty's direction is left for them to follow. If memory serves, when he died and they did that podcast it was said he left quite a bit for story direction at least. It makes me wonder if we've passed what he had told them yet.

I had heard that Monty had left at least enough material to bring them through season 5. Possibly further.

5!? Hot dang that's great. :D I wonder what Monty's direction will lead too. I wonder how they'll go past it if they do.

That's just what I remember hearing of. So take that with a grain of salt (or two). I just know there was talk that Monty had left some sort of road map for the rest of the team to follow. I'm sure that, if volume 5 succeeds, we'll get more, and I would trust the RT team to be able to pull together something great even after they've gone through everything that Monty left for them. They've proven themselves more than capable of carrying on a series.
