Danilef ignored them as he kept the thought in his head. "The two birds that weren't meant to meet." He then sighed and kept looking out at the window. The many couples going past the steak house window. He sighed again started humming a special song. ".....Snowstorm......"

 

Lily was totally confused. "Hey Daniel?" she looked at Jason who was just as puzzled as she was. 'Whats wrong with him? Why isn't he responding?' she asked herself. "Daniel?! Wake up!" She shook him uncertainlya dn when she did he seemed to break out of his trance immdediatly. "Daniel? Are you okay?"

 

Daniel check his ear and said "Ew." He then punched Jason in the arm again and said "Thats cold man." "Cold." He then started laughing after the two punches. Once he stopped, He looked at Lily and said "Sorry." "I have a lot on my mind." He then thought about the fountain again. "Two birds that shouldn't meet."

 

Lily leaned back and retched in disgust "Okaay now that was gross." she smiled at Daniel but shook her head at Jason. "Ugh, men!!" she said before getting up to go to the bathroom. "Back in a bit" she called out before dissappearing into the ladies restroom.

 

Daneil gave a shocked look to both of them. "Why...... why would you do that?" He couldln't believe it. These two.... they sure are something else." He gave a small heartfelt smile and said again "Guys..... why would you do that?" "Its not your mission."

 

Meanwhile in the ladies restrooms: Lily washed her hands, shook them and dried them with tissue paper. As she threw the tissue in the bin she heard something coming from behind her. She turned around and heard someone’s voice coming from inside one of the cubicles, a male voice. She was about to knock on the door when she heard him speak again, much more clearly this time. “Yes, their here. There are 3 of ‘em Yes, I’ll keep an eye on them.” Lily had heard enough. “Hey! Open up! This is a women’s rest room now get outta there before I call security!” She banged the door with her fist as hard as she could, but it was locked. “Open the door!! Now!!” she kept banging on the door until it swung open and to her surprise, there was noone inside. She looked around anxiously; she could have sworn she heard someone in there...an if not, who’s voice could she hear?
She scratched her head and slowly walked out of the bathroom. ‘I must be losing it again’ she muttered before returning to the table where Jason and Daniel were waiting contently…

Lily looked up at Jason. "Yeah, I'm..fine.." She spoke while looking over her shoulder at the doors that lead to the ladies room. "Hey...did you guys see...a...ugh, never mind." But she couldn't help but wonder. 'If there was someone in there...was he talking...about us?' She breathed deeply and leaned back and ran her hands through her thick wavy hair. "So, where we going next?".

 

Daniel gave Jason a nice smile and said "Thank you, Jason." He then turned to Lily and said "I thought we could hit the town and look around some more." "Then we'll be heading home." As he said that, a waiter came up with their food and layed down on their table. Daniel looked at him and said "Thank you." The waiter nodded and left. As he watched the waiter leave, for a moment Daniel saw himself a long black coat far away. He shook his head and saw that there was nothing there. "Strange."

 

"Cool..." Lily looked around studying the steakhouse, she couldn't help but feel paranoid after that whole episode in the bathrooms. She studyed the room carefully, noone was watching her and noone looked even remotely suspicious. 'Yup, its official...I'm losing it.' she thought to herself, she looked straight up at the security camera whcih was focused right on the table the three were sitting at. She sighed deeply and shook her head. Lily then pulled out a pen from her bag and starting drawing a small pattern on her wrist.

 

Daniel turned to her and said "Yeah." "Whats the deal with the pattern?" "Lily....You ok?" As he said that, he looked at his fries and started eating. As he kept eating, he kept thinking about what he saw. "That guy..... was that me?" "Or am I me? He thought about it for awhile and then shook his head. "No." "I must be going crazy." He then continued eating his fries.

 

Lily looked up and grinned. "Hmm? Oh I'm fine! It's nothing, I'm just drawing an indian henna design. There like funky patterns that go all the way up your hand and they draw it on with some special muddy stuff that stays on your hand for a few weeks. Like a temporary tatoo. My mom was really good at them....." she explained before taking a sip of coke. She looked up at the plate of food she ordered and pushed it away slowly.

 

Daniel looked at Lily and said "I hope you'll be ok." "You should really eat." He sighed and said "I'll be back." He then got up and left to the bathroom. He started splashing his face with water and looked at the mirror in front of him. "Whats wrong with me?" "Why am I seeing me?" "Why?" After lookin into the water filled sink, he heared a whisper. "Check out into the alley." "Your friend is not looking good." He quickly turned around and saw no one there. He was all alone. "What the hell?" "...Jason!" He then dashed out of the bathroom and out of the steak house. He kept running to the back alley and saw Jason laying on the ground. "Jason!" He kneeled down to him and said "Don't worry." "You're gonna live."

 

Lily waited patiently at the table for Jason and Daniel to return. Her fingertips were tapping a slow and steady rhythm on the table while her eyes focused on the window; she stared tiresomely at the small droplets of rain trailing down the window until they reached the ground and the trail faded away slowly. She heard a loud screeching sound and noticed three tall men jump into the back of a black car and speed off. One of the men looked familiar. ‘He was one of the guys from before, he was one of those church protesters.’ she muttered to herself before realising something. ‘They just came from the place where Daniel and Jason went….what if something happened!’

She grabbed her jacket and her bag and payed the waiter who was returning to the table with the check. “Here, this’ll cover it, keep the change” she yelled before rushing out into the street. She looked around. “Jason?! Daniel!?” she called out but noone responded. She turned and walked in the direction they did before, in a matter of seconds she found herself in a dark alleyway and in the middle there was Jason on the floor and Daniel was beside him comforting him, she fell to her knees next to Daniel. “Jason?! Oh my god, what happened to him?” she screamed before placing her jacket over him to keep him warm. “Jason, can you hear me? Your gonna be okay, I promise”. She cradled his head and ran her fingers through his hair before kissing him on his forehead.
