Daniel looked at him and saw the expression on Jason's face. He understood what he was saying. He then speak quietly to Jason. "I will look after her during surgery." "Don't worry Jason." He then got up as the Ambulance came and took Jason inside the ambulance and quickly drove away. Daniel looked at Lily and said "Hey." "Lets go to the hospital to check it out."

 

Lily fell to her knees again and burst out in tears. “Why does this always happen? Whenever I’m around someone always gets hurt!” She looked up at Daniel who was completely clueless about what she was talk about. She handed him the scrunched up note that she found in Jason’s hand earlier. As he read it his eyes widened. “The last thing I wanted…was for anyone of us to get hurt during this trip, this was meant to be….our vacation…together…” a tear rolled down her cheek which she wiped away in one swift movement. She breathed in and stood up “Lets go!” a few minutes later a cab pulled up outside the steakhouse where her and Daniel were picked up and dropped off at the hospital.

 

Daniel looked at the nurse and said "He was stabbed by someone." "Somebody called him into the back alley of the Steak House and stabbed him there." "The reason why.... I don't know." The nurse looked at him and nodded. "Well then, thank you for telling me." She then walked away. Daniel watched walk away and thought to himself "If only I had been there!" He then punched the wall in anger. He then turned to Lily and said "Sorry." "I blame myself for this." He then walked away from her and went outside.

 

Lily watched Daniel walked out of the hospital exit before running after him. "Hey Daniel!" She noticed he stopped and turned to face her. "Um...don't ya think we should stick together? I mean, whoever beat Jason up obviously did it for a reason and....well...it's just a theory but i think they attacked him 'coz we tried to stop that protest going on! So whoever beat up Jason...might....come for us next!"

 

Lily thanked the nurse and walked into the room first followed by Daniel; she walked over to the bed and smiled at Jason. She sighed in relief. “Thank god you’re okay! Look at you! You’re a total…bloody mess you are!” she laughed and yet she couldn’t help but cry. She kneeled down next to the bed and took his hand into hers slowly. “So um…how does it feel? Your leg I mean..”

 

Daniel looked at Jason and said "Glad you are ok now." Then a nurse came in and said "Are one of you Daniel?" "Someone wants to see you." Daniel looked at them and said "Don't worry." "I'll be back." He then walked away from them and went to the lobby. ONce he got to the lobby, he saw some guy in a brown overcoat. He looked at Daniel and said "Follow me."

Daniel followed him to the same alley way where Jason was jumped. He looked around and said "Why are we here?" The man looked at him and said "It seems..... that you are not you." Daniel was then shocked by what he said. "What?" The man smiled and said "Join me and you can be you again." Daniel looked at him and said "This guy..... hes crazy." Daniel then said "Sorry." "I got to go." He then left towards the hospital.

ONce he got back, he looked at them and said "Sorry." "Its was something else."

 

“Ugh, it must be my mom again!” Lily pulled out her cell phone and read the text. Her eyes widened and unintentionally her grip on Jason’s hand was starting to tighten, she stared at the marble white ground below her and her hand was shaking. ‘What shall I do? Should I tell these guys…or would it just put them in even more danger. Not to mention they would get even more concerned about me.’ So many thoughts were running through her mind at that time her head was heating up again.

 

Daniel watched both of them talked to eachother, and deep inside, he envied them. "You guys are lucky." "You have eachother." He thought to himself. He then sighed and said "I need to grab a drink." "You two lovebirds stay here." He then left the room and headed down to the cafeteria.

Once he got there, he grabbed a cup of coffee and sat down in a chair. He took a sip of it and look around at the people that have somone sitting by them. They were talking to eachother and making jokes and laughing together. That made Daniel feel a lot more alone. Thats when he heard the voice again. "As long as I still exist, you'll never be alone, Daniel!" Daniel quickly looked around and said "What the hell?" "It was the same voice from before again."

 

Lily blushed slightly at Daniel’s sly remark but she just laughed it off. She looked back up at Jason who was struggling to eat his Popsicle and staring at the women with her baby outside the room. As she turned to watch them she saw the farther arrive to take his wife and the baby home. She smiled at the touching sight then turned back to Jason. “I think you’d make a great dad.” But she still couldn’t forget about that horrifying text, she didn’t want him to get hurt again but she couldn’t just ignore it…she had no idea what she should do.

 

Lily laughed anxiously. "Yeah, it was my mom she was...telling me to...stay safe and..to call her later." She looked back and changed the topic to avoid the subject of it. "Anyway, yeah Daniel has been acting a little strange, maybe he's tired or something. I just hope he's okay".

 

Daniel quickly ran to a bathroom and began washing hie face with water. "WHat the hell is going on with me?" "Why am I hearing stuff like this?" He groaned and said "WHy is this happening?" Then he heard a voice behind him. "Its because of your lonlines that you heard the darkness." Daniel looked back and saw the same man in the overcoat. "Why the hell are you here!" The man smiled and said "Because..... you are something I'm after." "My clan will be happy with you."

 

Lily giggled and stood up. "Okay! You get some rest and I'll go track down Daniel and get you a taco!" Before she left she bent down and kissed Jason carefully on his cheek. "Hope you feel better soon!" She spun on her heel and skipped out of the room while closing the door behind her. She walked down the corridor and followed the signs until it lead her to the cafeteria. She searched for Daniel but she couldn't find him anywhere. ‘He might be in the bathroom’ she thought to herself. She stood in silence waiting to see if he came out when suddenly someone grabbed her arm and pulled her into a corner. She was pinned against a wall when she heard a harsh voice say. “Scream and your boyfriend dies!”

 

Daniel heard and recognised it as Lily. "Lily!" The man then put out his arm and said "Stop!" "If you go on, then your friend dies." Daniel looekd at him with cold eyes and said "You bastard!" "What do you want?" The man kept smiling sinisterly and said "Its what I said." "I want you." He then pulled piece of paper and threw it to Daniel. "If you want your friends to live, then meet me at this address at Midnight." "Or else, they die." Daniel looked at him angrily and said "I......" He then calmed down and said "I'll do it." The man then started laughing and said "Good." "Good boy."

 

The strange man still had Lily pinned into the corner and his hand tightly clamped over Lily’s mouth to prevent her from screaming. As she tried to figure out who this mysterious man was when she noticed something silver glistening in the man’s jacket pocket, it was a large knife. She mumbled unintelligibly at Daniel but he didn’t seem to understand her, the man looked back at her and grabbed her throat. “Listen up little girl….you follow my instructions and keep your mouth shut!! Then your friends will be safe...if not...” He started tightening his grip on her neck which made it hard for her to breathe. “Well, let’s just say this pretty little face…won’t look so pretty anymore…” he stroked her face with his hand which made her feel extremely uncomfortable. He finally let go of her and walked away swiftly leaving Daniel and Lily completely petrified. Lily dropped to the ground and gasped for air, she sat up slowly while coughing abruptly continuously. ‘Did that just happen?’ she thought to herself.
