Yeah, it was my favorite book in the series before Half Blood Prince came out, and the movie screwed up like everything to do with the Marauders, the werewolf special effect was dumb as hell, just, everything, ugh. It turned me off the movie series so much that I refused to see four or five for the longest time.

It's just realistic; some things just don't translate well to other mediums, and some things are just more important than others and need to be shown. Like, my aunt was upset because Katniss' cat is supposed to be orange. I was just impressed they even bothered to show a cat.

I do wish they hadn't shied away from the violence quite so much- I wish Rue's death had been closer to what it was in the book, and the shaky cam got a little old. But I suppose they thought it was necessary to keep the PG-13 rating.

well they had different directors directing the film so thats why the movies got screwed up big time, The 6th movie was so unbearable I couldn't watch it.

^ Catching Fire has a different director than the Hunger Games, as well. Hopefully that doesn't become a problem.

Yes as long as its not the director that director the last 4 Harry Potter films I think we'll be good to go. lol. Or at least someone that's read the darn book instead of skipping through and just finding scenes that aren't even in the book (if you know what I mean).
