Karite and Sukiko were walking around Mac Anu for a bit with no luck. Suddenly Sukiko spoke out, "Oh, wait I just remembered! We usually meet once a week at this certain area. He might be there!" She quickly grabbed Karite's hand and dragged him towards the Chaos Gate.
"Slow down." Karite said. She let go of his hand and started putting in a location before grabbing him again and dragging him through the gate.

They appeared in front of a large cathedral. Karite thought it looked familiar but couldn't place where or why. Sukiko however just kept running to the cathedral. She had let go of his hand when they arrived. "Hey wait!" Karite called out. She didn't seem to hear as she just ran inside the large building. Karite slowly started walking up when he heard a scream come from inside the cathedral. Karite pulled out his scythe and rushed in to see what was wrong. As soon as he was inside the doors slammed shut behind him. He slowly and carefully walked up to the alter at the rooms center as he watched the room carefully. When he reached the alter he turned around and looked the room over completely. Nobody was there, it was an alter and rows of church benches. That was when he heard a voice. "You're really gullible, you know that?" From out of seemingly the wall itself walked Sukiko, her scythe out and she had a sadistic smile on her face.
"You actually fell for the missing brother rutine. I'm surprised. I bet her that you wouldn't try to help. Bad call on my part." From the other side came a boy that looked almost identical to Sukiko. He also had his scythe out and an evil smile on his face.
"That's my missing brother, Hizumi. And you are going to die here, Epitaph." That's when Karite understood what was going on. They weren't seperated by PKers, they were the PKers. And he had not only fallen for their trap, he had walked into it thinking to help them. A grade-A sucker. Yet the thing that got Karites attention the most was the word Epitaph. So they know... then they want whatever power I got from that thing. Well they're not gonna get it from me without a fight.
"Don't you ever talk? Geez, the last pair was a lot more interesting then this. At least that Steam Gunner put up a fun fight." Sukiko said.
"Steam Gunner?" Karite said, his voice hinting at a rage.
"Oh yeah, he was fun to kill. His buddy was a pain in the ass though. What was his name again? Zack? Zeke?" Sukiko replied. Within a second Karite was rushing straight at Sukiko. She just laughed as they parried scythes. "You'll have to do better than that Karite!" But Karite wasn't finished. He quickly twisted his scythe to swing back towards her head. She leaned back to dodge and began parrying or dodging every attack Karite threw at her. After a few moments, Hizumi jumped in and pushed Karite back.
"I get this one Sukiko. You took the last couple. I want to have some fun too." Sukiko just pouted and backed off.

 

Adept Rouge Level 9 1/3

"Nice." Gerik grinned. "Pity another Job Extension quest won't be coming up anytime soon. Then we'd be unstoppable." Tom's mind wandered for a bit. "I think I have about thirty minutes before I have to log off and eat dinner. Any suggestions on where to go before then?"

 

Alkaid was fustrated by what he just said and it showed on her face. "Here's the file! Read it and then contact me when your done!" she yelled as she threw the file at Sion and then started to walk off towards the gate."Oh and now that you are involved with AIDA now you can kiss your 'peacful sleep' good-bye!" Alkaid said over her shoulder. " This boy has no idea what he has gotten himself into. But he'll learn real fast once something bad happens to someone close to him, just like me." She said quietly before she gated out.

"Well I might as well restock my items before I log out." she said as she walked up to the shops. Alkaid restocked her items and got some new spells. "Well I guess I'll go save and log out and head to the hosipital and go see him and find out how he is doing." She said as she was walking. Alkaid walked by a bunch of different players one of them kept looking at her.

Back in the real world"Well I guess I'll grab a bite to eat and then head over there." She said as she walked out the door.

"Lotus Flower!"
"Wicked Strike!" The two attacks collided and from within the smoke there were sounds of metal striking metal. As the smoke cleared it was seen that it waas Karite furiously attacking and Hizumi defending. Hizumi began laughing as he jumped back and the leapt up. "Heavenly Wheel!" Karite leapt to a side to dodge, but suddenlt Hizumi was there in his face. "Reapers Touch." The attack hit Karite hard, he was sent flying back into the wall. "Come on Epitaph. You're weak. This isn't even a warm-up!"
My stats aren't high enough, and theirs are read as ERROR. I guess I'll switch weapons and keep trying. These two got Zeke, it's only right that I try to avenge a friend. Karite pulled himself off the wall and quickly used a potiona s he put away his scythe. Then he pulled out his glitched scythe, Death's Touch. Hizumi smiled at seeing his glitch scythe.
"You think a different scythe will catch me any easier than your previous? Then just try it!" he yelled as he charged in at Karite. Karite jst held his ground and waited for him to get close before swinging his scythe at Hizumi's head. However he dodged the attack by ducking under and tried an upercut slash at Karite. The attack missed as Karite spun around Hizumi and slashed him in the back with his scythe. Hizumi was shocked but quickly leapt back and sent a Reapers Touch at Karite. Karite parried by sending his own Reapers Touch at the attack. Both charged in and began slashing at each other at a furious pace, neither seeming to gain an edge. Suddenly Hizumi grinned. "Reapers Dance!!" The attack caught Karite off guard, as he hadn't learned that attack yet. Its power slammed Karite into the ground, his HP nearly gone. "You never had a chance against me Epitaph. I've been fooling around with you the entire time. I'll give that a moment to sink in before I kill you."

Karite however was too busy cursing himself. Damn! I need more strength! I need more power! I need to kill him!
Karite.
That voice...
Karite, use my strength.
How? And what are you?
All will be revealed, use my strength.
HOW?
Call my name. You've known it since we met. Karite stood up and grabbed his scythe tighter in his hand.
"Oh, you think you can still fight? Well then fine. I'll just kill you while you stand there." Hizumi charged in but was quickly blasted back by an unseen force. "What?!" Karite's body began to glow with strange markings, his eyes glowing brightest of all.
"Shikyou."
There was a large explosion of energy and suddenly Hizumi found himself staring down a giant white and gold creature holding it's own scythe on it's shoulder. Hizumi was yelling out in anger. "No! No! I had this! I was about to kill you! This can't happen! Sukiko! Help!" That's when he looked and saw that Sukiko had vanished when the Avatar appeared. She knew what was about to happen and wasn't about to help him when he didn't help her in a similar situation. Hizumi looked back at the giant as it raised it's scythe. The scythe began to glow when suddenly it slashed down and seemingly killed Hizumi. He vanished and as he did, Karite returned and the creature vanished. Karite held his head for a moment and struggled to stay standing. I've used to much power. Gotta rest. Karite slowly walked over to one of the benchs that weren't destroyed and layed down.

 

As he layed there on the ground, a voice appeared in Wraith's head. "If you want revenge, then you should start by getting up." Wraith groaned and said "Leave." He then opened his eyes and saw that he was outside Mac Anu. "But how?" As he started getting up, his body felt soar. "Augh, man am I hurt." Thats when it hit him. "Wait, how am I in pain?"

 

Level 20 3/3 Level up! Now level 21!

"Who do you think he is?"
"Who knows. Hey, let's grab his equipment before he wakes up."
As Karite woke from his nap he saw a couple people looking over him. "What're you doing?" The two jumped back scared as if they had seen a ghost.
"Whoa dude, he's awake!"
"Obviously! Quick let's get out of here!" The two players quickly went running. Karite did a quick check to see that he had woken up before they took anything. Karite headed back to the root town and checked the message boards to see if anything was going on. He was hoping to possibly find info about Hizumi and Sukiko so he could track down Sukiko and make her pay. He was positive that he had killed Hizumi so Sukiko would definately be playing more carefully to avoid Karite. As Karite was searching the boards he noticed that a new event had started, one that granted a guild licence to the winners. A guild huh? Well a guild would definately be useful in helping me track down Sukiko. Then after that's complete, I could use it as front for searching for this AIDA stuff. If I do this, I'll definately get Sion and Nero in this guild with me. So Karite checked in with the NPC for the mission then headed off to the location.

"What no events, but yesterday there was ten. Hmm mabey I should have done one of those events then met up with Sion." Alkaid went to the warp gate and went to Mac Anu. 'I wonder if Sion has read the files yet?

 

Level 21 1/3

Karite appeared in what looked like the middle of a massive graveyard in the middle of the night. The only light came from the glow of the Chaos Gate and the full moon above. The graves around him seemed to go on forever. Most were simple tombstones but some had crosses or strange symboled markers. In the distance he could see some masuleums and a rather large building, he guessed the morgue itself. Don't let this place get to you. It's all just data, nothing super dangerous. Plus I have Death's Touch and Shikyou if things get too hectic. I just gotta find the right tomb, get the girl, and get her back to Mac Anu. I'm guessing she's probably in one of those masuleums or the morgue way back there. Just get this done with and nothing can happen.

Karite quickly started walking down the path towards the morgue. As he did, his eyes couldn't help but stray to the tombstones surrounding him, or to the pitch black sky and pure white moon. What really had Karite the most interested was the fact that no monsters were present. The place was empty, of everything. There were no monsters, no players, not even small virtual birds or mice. The graveyard was completely devoid of life. Relax Karite. Just cause it's a graveyard and you're all alone, doesn't mean something is going to jump out and get you. I'm almost positive that the monsters are all just programmed to ambush me when I find the girl. Relax Karite, relax. Surprisingly, for his dark and death loving looks or job class, Karite never could handle graveyards or the likes. Being around the dead always made him uncomfertable, virtual or not. As he continued looking around, he began to pick up his pace. He also pulled out his regular scythe, just in case.

 

Admin Adept Rogue lvl 12 (1/3 xp)

Salvatore pondered on the possibilities they could do. But the rumbling in his stomach said he, too, should get food, "Why don't we just call it a night, man? We've been playing for a little bit and there's no reason we can't take a short break or even the night. No need to over-exert ourselves, right?" Smiling faintly, Hibari imagined for a moment what they might be able to do with a full free day and good sleep.

 

He tried remembering what happened before he got here to no aviail Wraith couldn't remember. "Dang!" "I can't remember." Once he was fully stood up, he looked around and saw that he was all alone. "The same as usual then." He then sighed and said "Well, I better get going then." That is when he started heading off towards the city.

 

Level 21 2/3

(come on guys, i don't want this to die)

As Karite slashed another door aside he peered into the tomb. Just bones, again. Where is the NPC girl? Karite thought as he moved to the next one. He repeated his process another five times until he came to the last tomb. She's gotta be here. He quickly broke the door down and looked inside. He nearly dropped his scythe at what he saw. Inside was a tall blonde woman wearing a long white dress being held above a circle of blue flames by a very thin chain. The worst part though was that she was surrounded by hundreds of enemies. All of them looked like a stitched up and rotted version of the regular Dust Goblins. Great, zombie Dust Goblins. I should've guessed, this being a graveyard and all. Karite knew his regular scythe wouldn't be much help so he quickly pulled out his glitch scythe, Death's Touch.

.Hack//Roots - God Diva

With one quick move he rushed in and slashed down the closest three goblins in a single strike. He contiued through the enemies as more and more goblins started to notice him. A few began charging their attacks and Karite threw up his guard, barely in time. Suddenly he was hit in the back by an attack. He turned to see that some of the enemies he had cut down were getting back up. "Real... Zombies?!" Karite got scared, he was never much of a horror fan. Stuff like spiders or zombies and such scared him, in the real world Johnny was breaking out in a cold sweat. It's all for a guild. It's all for a guild. Come on, Karite, just remember the goal. Focus on the goal. Karite had to quickly jump to dodge another set of attacks. "Reapers Dance!" he yelled out. As he did he charged forward and started a small combo with his scythe before striking the ground causing a purple vortex with six claw-like blades to emerge and cut up the goblins. "Reapers Dance! Reapers Dance!" Karite launched the attacks a couple more times before he saw that he was low on SP, too low for another Reapers Dance. Or any special for that matter. Karite looked around and only saw that the goblins kept getting up. I hope this works on monsters! "SHIKYOU!"

 

Through all of Mac Anu, Yui was resteslly searching for Wraith. As she walked through the streets, she thought to herself "Wraith.....where are you?" As she kept searching, she passed two man talking to each other. "....So I saw this weird kid in white armor suffering on the ground." "He had white hair and seems like he was in a lot of pain." The other guy then said "No kidding huh?" The man then said "Uh huh." When Yui heard that she immediatley said "Wraith."

 

Admin Adept Rogue lvl 12 (2/3 xp)

As Hibari pushed himself away from the computer screen, he removed the M2D goggles and set them next to his key board. The computer gave off the soft orange glow of his background. Groaning inwardly he walked back to the bath room and decided to continue fixing his face. He pushed back his short blond hair and looked closely at the small fragments of his other goggle that had shattered on him. Luckily there didn't appear to be any significant damage and best off all, none of the shards were really embedded into his skin. It wouldn't take long to fish them out and grab some things to eat.

Hibari

He spun suddenly and nearly slipped. Saving himself by planting both hands on either side of the sink as he balanced his weight near his hips. Someone was calling to him. It hadn't been the same voice as before. It was softer, kinder. It scared him to hear such a pleasantly gentle voice. A voice so soft that it sent shivers up his spine.

Shaking his head, Hibari dismissed it. He was hallucinating. Nothing more. Just simple figments of his imagination at work. Trying to trick him and play with his fears.

Exhaling he walked out from the bath room and made his way to the kitchen. Next on the list was food before bed and then he could wake up to play The World again.

Alkaid was walking around Dol Dona tring to find Sion. "Where the HELL is he!? I sent him like 20 messages! He better of not gotten himself PKed!" She was stomping around town angry and iching for a fight. "I'm tired of just waiting around I NEED something to do, but there are currently no events! I wish my old friends still got on here then I'd atleast have someone to talk to." Alkaid sat near the event counter and started to drawl pictures in the dirt.

 

Admin Adept Rogue lvl 12 (3/3 xp)

Stomach full, clean, and well rested, Hibari pulled his chair closer to the screen of his computer as it kicked up. It wasn't a long wait before he was able to pull up "The World" and log in. A smile creased his face, half cynical, half true joy, as he remembered the events from yesterday. Salvatore was growing quickly and it wouldn't be long until he would have even more power.

With more power he would have more friends, and more people to admire him. His goal was coming on to him quicker than he could have dreamed! And all after meeting Gerik. It seemed like destiny, really. Meeting the desert clad adept rogue must have been some intricate design in the web of life. He just knew it.

For his activities today, Hibari wondered if he should start a guild like he and Gerik at talked about. Certainly an adept rogue like him would be allowed, wouldn't he?

"I think adept rogues and twin blades only... Yeah that'd be a pretty awesome guild." Salvatore rested his chin between his thumb and index finger as he looked upwards towards the sky. Mac Anu's light was shinning in its constant brilliance. "Guess I should go set up the @Home and start recruiting."

With a sigh Salvatore turned and headed back to the Chaos Gate. There would probably better pickings on another server. If he could get stronger people then he would be able to have them recruit the lower levels quicker.

"If I remember correctly there's only one P.K.K. guild within "The World" ... I wonder if that's because of CC Corp or if it just happened like that. Either way I plan on making it my rival guild! For now I need to take the first step and get a guild set up."

Mind set and the burning flame of determination roaring within his indomitable spirit, Salvatore reached out for the Chaos Gate and headed for Dol Dona.

It was here that his spirit was pushed back. As he stood before the guild creator he wavered. He wasn't strong enough yet. He still needed more power before he could even open a guild. "Damn!" he exclaimed as he trudged off; his back to the @home area.

Fine, I'll send a message to Gerik and say we need to do some more leveling once he's on, but for now - because it doesn't look as if he's on - I'll have to look for someone else to group with.

A frustrated sigh expelled itself from Salvatore before he drew in a deep breath. At the top of his lungs, and even in the chat box, he called out:

"ADEPT ROGUE LOOKING FOR LEVELING PARTY!"​

Some people gave him odd looks, while others laughed. He didn't care. At this point anyone would do.

 

Level 21 3/3 Level up! Now 22!

As the tall creature raised it's scythe for a final time, it brought it slashing down through a group of zombie Dust Goblins. As with the rest, they were ripped apart before their coding seemed to glitch and they just vanished. Suddenly the creature vanished and Karite re-appeared and fell straight to his knees. That takes... way too much energy... He waited a moment to catch his breath before standing up. He looked at the set up the NPC woman was being held. After a few seconds of mental deliberation he figured there was only one thing he was going to be able to do. Karite pulled out his scythe and took his aim. He quickly threw the scythe, cutting the chain. Before the woman could fall into the fire, Karite jumped accross and grabbed her before landing on the other side. He stood her up and grabbed his scythe. "Time to go."

 

Alkaid was still sitting and drawling pictures in the dirt when she got a message saying that Sion had logged in. "Well its about damn time he logged in, keeping a girl waiting is rude!" She then sent him a message which read: "Hey its damn time you showed your face here! SO what took you forever!? I'm in Dol Dona come and meet me."
